Ren nodded gently. "kay, well, I'm gonna go get it, so you have to stay here for a bit. Can you manage?" he picked up the rope and held a hand out for Storm to give him his arm. He'd have to tie him up for the flock's sake.

Once my purrs quieted I began to relax and finally gain some semblance of peace. "Hiro, I'm not sure if I want to stay here. I love the flock but I'm not sure if staying would be good for me. I miss Storm and now there's this clone of him and I'm scared that even if I developed feelings for him, he wouldn't ever feel the same way. Maybe I need distance, not emotional distance though. I need physical distance so I can get myself together. I know you're always there for me but the way Ren acted towards me today. It was like I was a stranger to him. That just reiterated the fact that I need to go. I don't know. What do you think?" Most people wouldn't ask for a child's opinion but Hiro was wise beyond his years and unbiased in his decisions.

Storm looked up at him sadly when he saw the rope. He sighed and used the cloth to wrap his arm where Ren had cut him, the sighed again and did the favor of clamping his hands together behind the tree for Ren's convenience.

Ren bound his wrists and stood. "I'll be right back." He took off for the cave and landed smoothly, taking a quick look around and seeing Jinx snuggled with Hiro. Ren cracked a smile and walked by, gently ruffling Jinx's ears as he passed, and picked up the backpacks. "C'mon guys. Ronnie is getting food, we might as well go too."

When Ren arrived I gave Hiro a look that said 'You better not say a word about this' mainly because I wasn't sure how Ren would react to me thinking about leaving. That probably wouldn't go over very well at all. When I felt him touch my ears, I flinched, shying away from his hand almost instinctively. Weird. I didn't even have fight or flight instincts. Normally I'd just attack and claw his hand up a bit if I didn't want to be touched. Oh well, he probably hadn't noticed so I'd just let it go. "I'm not really up for anything at the moment but if I have to, I guess I'll go. You're the leader after all." That last part came out dripping with venom. Oops. I'd been going for sarcasm but that was a big fail. "Sorry." Shaking my head, I gently removed Hiro from my lap and stood up. Maybe I could get another catnip toy since I'd left the other one near our previous campsite.

ren frowned at her words and looked down. "You don't need to come if you don't want to." he said softly, then paused and dug around in his bagpack for a moment. His eyes lit up when he found what he was looking for, and tossed a package of catnip to Jinx. "Be happy, kitty." Ren laughed quietly and smiled gently, zipping up the back and slinging it over his shoulder.

My whole demeanor changed when I caught the catnip so naturally, I pounced on Ren easily taking the larger teen to the ground. "You do realize that we need to put the catnip in a stuffed animal or something, otherwise I'll end up eating it. I'm pretty sure you don't want me high off of catnip." That could be fun but I'd be a serious liability if we had to fight.

when ren turned back around, a flying, solid figure knocked him to the ground. He yelped as his head hit the cave floor with a thump, and winced slightly. ow, kitty. "Well, I didn't think you'd try to swallow it." Ren muttered, rubbing the back of his head with a soft smile as he talked to the cat sitting on his chest.

"I will." I yawned then curled up on his chest deciding that he was the perfect bed for a nap. He smelled like Storm, the scent clinging to his hoodie. That alone made me want to be around him which was funny since I was bent on leaving just seconds ago. Maybe I could discuss that matter with Hiro a bit more. "We really do need to get that catnip in some sort of stuffable toy. Then again, I might end up chewing on the toy. Maybe we ought to pick up a cat care guide while we're out. Ohhh can I get a collar with a bell on it?! I don't have my choker anymore so maybe a collar could replace it."

he smirked slightly, closing his eyes and resting his head on the hard ground. "what next? cat food?" Ren laughed, gently reaching a hand up to pet her ears. apparently cat therapy calmed his nerves and mood.
