.:Sae:.
She sighed and shook her head. Carver wouldn't do anything, the meak little creature. Sae gave the group one final critical look before stepping inside the windowless. As soon as she crossed the threshold, she could tell something was..different. Her hands traveled to her swords, her eyes darting around. They settled on a sleeping form. The blue haired boy slept soundly in a cushioned chair close to a fire. His head was propped in his hands, and he was breathing slowly.
"Carver?" She called out, but not too loudly. The young man barely stirred.
"In here." She heard the vampire's silky voice call from his study. Sae motioned for the group to follow quietly. She stepped into the study. The room was overfilled with books. The leather bound tomes were stacked on the floor, over stocked in book shelves, and laying across some of the desks. Oil lamps burned brightly in the windowless room, illuminating the pale skinned creature.
The vampire stood over a scrying orb, it's flickering light made shadows dance across the walls.
"Hello Sae. I see you brought more company." He murmured without turning around. Even with blindness, he could still "see" things around him. With a final hiss, the orb stopped glowing so briliantly. With a sigh, the vampire turning around. Carver wasn't much taller than Sae, but he had longer, black hair and hung loosely around his sholders. He was much scrawnier than even the Sulent, and his pale skin was almost milky, but untouched with any kind of blemish or mark. His blue eyes were clouded with the blindness that plagued him, but now they glittered with the smile that spread across his face. With a few easy strides, he was over by Sae and hugged her warmly, like a long lost friend. He held her at arms length and looked at her face. His blind, blue eyes met Sae's crimson ones.
"I see the weeks have treated you well." He commented as he backed away.
"Same to you, my friend." She murmured softly. She stood aside and gestured to the group.
"I've brought..someone. A human. Who needs to know how to get back to his world." Sae said, looking at the vampire. Something caught her eye and she turned her head. A child, another dragonkin, perched on a chair. A rather large book layed across her lap. Her monarch-patterned wings fluttered close to her small body and she watched them with wide brown eyes. Sae looked back at Carver questioningly, but didn't say anything. The vampire was looking at Alhar, his head tilted slightly.
"I might can help." He said calmly, tucking his hands into the wide sleaves of his ropes.
"Where are you from?"(I think this is one of the bests post I have ever made...)
