I let out a weak purr in response but it only lasted for a few seconds. Ren definitely had a gift of some sort. His tone helped me relax but there was still that lingering numbness. My free hand was now clutching the hoodie he always seemed to be wearing, my claws tearing small holes into the fabric. He wouldn't be happy about that but it was too late now. "You shouldn't tell lies Ren. It gives a sense of false hope and once that hope is gone, there's just...nothing." I wanted to believe him but I just couldn't. Not now at least. Nothing was going to be alright. Not for a very long time.

Apparently he wasn't going to say anything. I flew straight up letting the wind blow my hair back around me. I smile and swoop down circling the cave carefully watching the ground for any sign of movement.

Ren didn't even care about his sweatshirt. heck, she could shred it all she wanted. "I'm not lying, sweetheart." he said softly, a small smile flickering across him at her rusty purr. that purr that melted his heart and made him want to snuggle her to death. maybe she felt the same about Hiro when he said or did something cute. he found himself humming to her quietly- which even surprised him.

I don't think you, reader, understand how rare it is to hear Ren hum and or sing. Almost no one in the flock has ever heard him sing- at least, he thought, once, when it sounded like someone was listening through the door when he thought no one was home. He had a beautiful voice, and hated bragging or people talking about it, so simply shut his mouth. he didn't have fantastic powers like the others, so a pretty voice was what he was 'blessed' with, but he calls it a curse.

The young Eraser snooped around and eventually heard some voices and smiled at the fact that he found the flock. HS climbed a tree and spied on them from between the branches.

I smelled dog. It couldn't be Storm. I smelled something else too bu I couldn't identify it. I flew lightening fasting it's cave falling and tumbling along he floor. Hopefully I was too fast of him to have seen. I stood shaking my wings out. I had scratched my arm. When was I not bleeding? "Ersaser. Outside. We need to leave. Now!" I say trying to keep my voice down. It wasn't hard considering my screaming moment earlier.

"Shut up, Ren." That stupid voice of his was so dangerously convincing that I found myself believing him for a moment. It wasn't until he began humming that my resolve shattered and I finally gave in to the comfort he was so willing to give. Kitty needed a bit of cuddle time today. Actually, kitty needed lots of cuddles. Seconds after he began humming I was in his lap, still gripping his hoodie tightly. Since when did he even hum? He refused to sing and or hum no matter what. There was the rare occasion that I'd hear line or so of a song spill from his lips but it never lasted more than a few seconds and had only happened a handful of times while the rest of the flock was out. Once again I found myself purring, my body giving off the faintest vibration from the soft sound of contentment. For now I was going to believe him and just enjoy the moment.

I got up and snuck inside. I believe the control room is this way.....I slipped quietly inside. I found the switch of the grid and flipped it off.i ran oitside and left the girl, shooting upward as fast as I could. I flew fas and gracefully cutting a few spins now and again.
