THE TIME GAMES (Not accepting!)

((My first thought was 'whales on stilts'!))
Jack gaped. Then he pulled himself together. From his tree, he aimed his gun- set to stun, of course- and fired. Of course, he was part of torchwood. Shoot first, wonder if it might have been a decent alien later.

I had to play my part, of course. Trembling in terror, I backed away, hiding behind a rock somewhere behind Tristin. "What is that thing?" I spoke in a high, wavering voice, the terrified young woman.

Sasha swore loudly as Jack's shot didn't appear to have any effect on the creature. Unfortunately, the thing noticed them, and turned their way, stopping. It was staring silently, with its three eyes, the third eye on its forehead narrowing with distaste.

The Doctor winced slightly at Sasha's language before checking his sonic. "Its skin repels bullets!" He called.

"Thanks, I noticed!" Jack called back. He jumped down from the tree and ran for it, past the monster and away from it. As he went he shot at it, hoping to deliberately attract its attention away from the others and toward him.

Suddenly, something occurred to Sasha. "Maybe this thing has a weak spot?" She called to the others, grasping her gun. "They wouldn't put something unkillable in here, or else it'd just kill off all of us, before we could do that to each other!"

[Duskshine]

"Go for the eye! That usually works!" Jack shouted back, shifting his gun setting to kill even as he kept running to draw it away.

Sasha fired rapidly at the beast, but it kept closing its third eye and moving away. Perhaps she had to get closer... Got it! She scrambled over to a nearby rock tower and began to climb. This one was higher than most of them.

Jack saw Sasha trying to do something and stopped running, raising his gun and firing repeatedly at the monster's chest-like area. That place well below its head just above its legs. It was hard to tell with eels. He just wanted to keep it distracted and relatively still so she could do whatever it was she was planning.

Shortly, Sasha reached the top of the pillar. She gazed down at the creature. The pillar was huge, if the creature moved out of the way she would hit the ground and certainly die, but if she were to protect her friends and allies, she needed to do this. Taking a deep breath, she leaped from the pillar, and...

She missed. But luckily, she didn't hit the ground. Whipping out her knife, she dug it into the creature's side, and managed to hold on by that. The creature, having thick, blubbery skin, did not appear to even notice. It was focused on Jack at the moment.

Why do they always try stupid dangerous stunts when they could get themselves killed...Jack thought with a small growl. He shifted his aim so he wouldn't accidentally kill Sasha as she hung onto the creature. He shot at the creature's face again, missing its eyes but avoiding hitting Sasha.
