Cass walked outside, having been unable to stay inside any longer. She began heading to the caves where the local colony of bats lived, but she was sidetracked when she heard a few other girls talking. A small starling landed on her shoulder, asking what she was doing around the other humans. "Don't worry Revitka," For that was the bird's name, as close as it could be spelled out in her human speach, "They will not hurt me, for I am one of them." No, you are not. You are People. Revitka said to her, the shrill pitches not bothering Cass's ears in the least. "Hush, you may frighten the other humans, they don't understand the way you speak." She was at the edge of the clearing now, and mustering her courage, she came up to the group of girls. "Hi." Cass said timidly, not wanting to interrupt their conversation, and feeling a bit shy.

((By the way, for anyone who's wondering, Revitka is a male starling, and he looks like this.-->
And in the eyes of the animals, they call themselves the People, so when he says Cass is people he is basicly saying she is one of them.))

((Sorry I haven't replied, but I haven't really seen a reply to this yet. There was one from Natalia, but there was nothing directed toward my character. In addition I have been gone for a few days on a ski trip (had a great time by the way!) so I haven't been able to post.))

Elizabeth pushed to her feet in a swift, ungraceful movement that sent her stumbling back to the ground. blushing like crazy, she brushed leaves away from her and tried to stand again, but only made it to her knees. Staying there, both knees pressed into the soft, muddy dirt, green eyes blazing with anger, she wanted to yell out her opinion of this all, wanted to scream and shout that it wasn't fair. They had all had siblings, and yet now there was only them. How cruel this world could be, just amazing cruel. Then again, no one had ever told her life was fair, but still. Just because life wasn't fair, didn't mean the world had to be cruel. Sometimes people fell in love and that feeling of being with someone whom you cared about kept you living, wanting to brush past all the snide, selfish, mean things that the person had ever done. Liz had never been in love, or had ever had a 'crush' on someone, so she really didn't feel any reason to stick through tough times, or why she should push herself harder to get someone to notice her. What would it bring her? More pain, suffering, and trauma. No doubt she was already going to end up going bonkers in the next couple of years if she kept going this way.

Persing her lips, Liz glanced back up to Natalia, anger clear as day on her face. "Why do they do this? Why does the world we live in today seem to seek out people and purposely cause them pain, suffering, loss, the whole ordeal, and then just give us powers as if it'll make it all better? Is that their way of doing as a mother might do? Plant a kiss on a cut and say it's all better now? Well, it's not. The world will not get better, and nothing can make it better, no matter how hard we try, nothing can make hurt any better then it is!" She didn't care she was crying, didn't care that what she said she was mostly meaning about herself, and overall, she didn't care that her voice was getting higher and higher, slowly climbing the bar until the point it cracked and she had to swallow before continuing.

Only, she didn't continue, just finally got to her feet and turned to stalk off into the woods when she saw the someone new. Saw someone who had probably been standing there the whole time, listening to her petty speech. Elizabeth nodded slightly to the girl, green eyes blurring from tears before she turned and walked back over to the other side of the clearing and dropped to the ground again. She hugged her jeans, trying to calm herself, but the tears still flowed and she was still pissed. Nothing was going right about today.
