THE TIME GAMES (Not accepting!)

[higurashi]

Tristin grinned at Delilah. Then suddenly, a worried thought clouded his mind. What if this girl had met Annabelle? "Hey, do you happen to know anyone named Annabelle?"

The Doctor waited until Sasha had left before turning to Jack. "So. How's your team doing?"

[Duskshine]

I blinked. I had sort of expected that I would have to deny my mistress, it was part of the job, but that didn't mean I liked it. Still, lying was much easier than killing. People tended to struggle against killers. "The name doesn't ring a bell, no." I said simply. "Why?"

Jack looked away. "We've been through a lot of tough stuff." He said, staring at the camp. "A lot of good people died..." Ianto... "But we always pull through somehow... mostly..."

[higurashi]

Tristin shrugged, feeling both relieved and disappointed. "N-no, nevermind."

The Doctor simply nodded and continued watching Jack in silence.

[danny fenton]

Suddenly, there was a loud noise far off. It sounded sort of like... colossal footsteps. Whatever it was, it was coming this way. The view that way was obscured by rock spires and trees, so no one could say what in the universe it was.

[Duskshine]

Jack had opened his mouth to say something else, but instead looked around at the sound of the strange footsteps. "What in the world..." He muttered, standing up and heading in the direction of the noise in order to climb a tree and see what was going on.

I shrugged, not going to press the matter further, and looked around. "What is making that noise?" I asked, stepping backward towards Tristin. It was not an instinctive step, but meant to look like one: it was in truth a calculated move to indicate that I trusted the boy.

[higurashi]

The Doctor started and peered about as the noise came, before whipping his Sonic out and scanning the air.

"How far away do you think it is?" Sasha asked the others.

[Duskshine]

"Let's see." Jack said, scaling the tree and looking out over the top. He immediately ducked down, breathing hard. "I'd say it's about a thousand feet off." He said softly. "I didn't get a good look, but that thing is huge."

[higurashi]

Tristin's hand strayed to his gun, staring upwards, wondering what the heck that thing could be. It sounded huge!

From the distance, Sasha could hear the sounds of trees being toppled like cards in a flimsy card castle. Then, she spotted it. It was huge. It appeared to be a colossal, dark violet eel, with at least seven rows of razor sharp teeth visible in its huge, gaping mouth. It looked the size of a blue whale, maybe bigger. It had slender legs, but gargantuan feet. It had such odd proportions Sasha wondered how this thing could possibly stay upright without collapsing on itself, but there it was, walking right towards them.
