Walking cautiously on the balls of her feet, the moist ground causing her some displeasure though not nearly enough to distract her from her target. Pressing a finger to her lips, she made no sound, but communicated through signs to her guide. If things went well, her Ntnlia should circle round the back of the skittish Kpbica and lie in wait just in case her archery wasn't accurate. The small rodents were easily frightened, and when they were frightened, they ran with incredible speed. Skin blending into her background, even the red ochre on her face and arm blending with the mosses and flowers, she was almost invisible. Hooking her bow fingers around the thin sinew, she pulled back slowly to not spook her prey. Everything had to be done with great care, there was no room for mistakes. Dragging fingers of the other hand down her back to her quiver, the soft feathers of her guide tickling her fingers as they slid down the shaft, ready to knock it into her bow.
In a single fluid movement, the arrow was knocked into her bow, and the arrow shot. The sound spooked her prey, but the arrow hit target. The Kpbica was merely wounded, but was in too much pain to move. Blood poured from it's wound, making her gasp quietly. She hadn't meant to cause it so much pain. Curling her fingers around another arrow, she stepped silently out of the bushes, towards the rodent. She took the clean arrow, thrust her arm forward and pierced it's heart. It was dead in a matter of seconds. Dipping her head, she gently pulled the arrow out of the Kpbica's body, leaving it intact except for the small hole that the arrow head had made on penetration. To pay her respect to the forest for the gift of the prey it had given her, she took a small, thin knife and cut the tail off, placing it down by the oldest tree in the area she was in. The forest gave them much, it was just their way to repay it, by giving it a little of each kill to do with it however it chose to.
