Samantha yawned, she was at the park walking back to her dorm to get ready for class. She sulked the whole way there wondering who she would have as a teacher. She sighed when she saw a girl with her dog. Samantha wished she had a pet but she wasnt allowed to have one. When she saw a baby bird beginning to fly, Samantha used her air powers to give it an up-draft to help it fly. Samantha's eyes shined like a sapphire, for when she uses her power her regular stunning blue eyes shine a brighter blue.

Yami let the draft cool her off and turn the page of the book she was reading currently. "My Brother Sam is Dead" it was called. It was an American, (translated into Japanese) book about their war, but it was good. Really good. She sighed, and kept reading. She say a bird that seemed to be falling as it flew, then suddenly it was gliding perfectly. She looked at the person that had helped the bird. She recognized the girl, but she was a class lower than Yami. She dog-eared the page she was reading in the book and sat up from the tree she was leaning on. Her school uniform had a few leaves on it from the trees the autumn weather had acted upon. She sighed and got up, walking over to the girl. "Are you an Air Rose?" she said quietly, with a light smile on her face. She was quite quiet at time, but was was mostly sociable and liked to meet new people.

Samantha turned and smiled saying, "Yea I just joined the school." She held our her hand to shake in greeting, "I'm Samantha." she added into the conversation. Samantha loved to meet new people. She had hoped, when she arrived, that she would meet knew people that were more like her but you never can tell. As she talked she wondered about the girl. The girl was definatly older than Samantha was but wearing the same uniform so going to the same school. Obviously she would have to be, to guess Samantha was a rose.

Kana sat on the branch of a tree, looking up at the sky through the leaves. Embry was below, sitting against the trunk, talking to her magpie and Kana's crow. They had been arguing over a shiny shell they had both found on the edge of campus and Embry was trying in vain to persuade them to let her have the shell until they decided who would keep it. "Just drop it and we'll keep it in the nest between our windows. Both of ye wil own it but i will guard it." The birds cawed at her in protest and Kana chuckled quiet as a whisper, seeing the hidden idea in her plan. She only wanted the shiny piece of rubbish for herself. Kana couldn't see what was so great about a shell. There were loads lining the south wall. "Just go get another and give me that one for now." She said, glancing down at her three friends in wonder and ammusement.

Yami smiled at the girl. And shook her hand. The girl spokr perfect Japanese, even though she didn't look Japanese. Yami just smiled and said, "My name's Yami. Shadow Rose." Her smile was sweet and innocent, although being a Shadow Rose, she definetly was not innocent. It was just another of the Roses secrets. Yami held her book by her side, "You're a 2nd year right Samantha?"

"1st year, if I remember correctly." Samantha said rubbing the back of her head in thought. She had moved here a few years back and just last year found out that here, was a school where she could go to train her powers and such. Well train...among other things. Still she was happy to be here even if she couldnt rememeber every little detail.
