Ephilon's ears perked up when he heard a haunting singing behind him. It sounded like a human...His brow furrowed and he turned slightly so he could hear the singing better. He closed his eyes for a moment, then started off in that direction, driven by simple curiosity...And that this encounter could prove to be interesting...Quite interesting. His ears pricked as he walked, bow still drawn, toward the voice.

Merias, the black horse, stopped. Kaiiyen jumped off her horse, and grabbed the reins. The fair maiden continued to sing as she lead the horse through the forest. But Merias stopped suddenly and refused to move. "Merias, it's okay." The girl said, putting her forehead against her horse's hand on her muzzle. "It's okay, see?"

Ephilon continued to prowl forward, and peered through the trees to see a girl trying to lead a horse through the forest. A smirk passed over his lips when he noticed that the horse was standing stock-still, not moving an inch. It knew he was there...He allowed a low, guttural growl to escape him, just to see what would happen.

Her horse reared up at the growl, a neigh of fear escaping from its lips before it bolted back to the castle. "Merias, wait!" The titles cried, taking a few steps after her. But she sighed and shrugged, pulling her cloak closer to her. It was suddenly cold, and she regretted wearing a low cut dress. She pulled her cloak over her hair, looking around the area with her ice blue eyes, pale pink lips parted slightly that gave her a curious look, dark eyebrows slightly arched. "Rest now my children, for soon we'll away," she sang again, walking further into the forest, "into the calm and the quiet..."

Ephilon smirked as the horse spooked and galloped away. He watched then, as the girl simply started off once more on foot. He frowned slightly before following after her in the shadows. He liked her singing...It was almost enticing...After a moment, he stepped out onto the path, and then fired an arrow into a tree just in front of the girl. "You know...It's dangerous, wandering the forest alone." He said in his rough tone of voice.

Kaiiyen stopped, turning her head slightly towards the voice, but didn't turn around. "I'm aware." She said in a soft voice. "So your excuse would be?" She turned to see him then, blue eyes piercing his. This was the daughter of Dimitri, the man who now ruled Narnia. She had a golden cloth belt paired with her simple black dress, in which was attached a wicked looking knife. But she didn't make a move for it, didn't make any move at all.

Ephilon smirked slightly at her, taking another step forward. "I happen to be one of those dangers." He said. "Although I am not some mindless beast...I can decide whether or not it would be wise to kill you." He added, raising an eyebrow slightly before slinging his bow over his shoulder, then resting his white-furred hand on the hilt of his sword. "In this case, I'd like to have good reason before I make that decision..." He told her.

Kaiiyen took a step back, eyes glancing to the sword before looking back at him. "Because I haven't bothered you, and I've done nothing to harm you. I also have not made any move to kill you." She shrugged. "Those may or may not be very good reasons, but I will not attack unless you attack first." She said simply.

Ephilon smirked when he noticed the direction of her gaze changing a little bit before drawing his sword. "A pretty thing, isn't it...Very useful too...Resilient, like me." He purred, running his thumb along the sword's blade. "Hmm...You know...I think that, if I knew who you were, it would aid me in my decision..." He said.

Kaiiyen drew her hood back, eyes going to the sword. "Kaiiyen, daughter of Demitri." She said in a soft voice. She wasn't afraid, or hoping he wouldn't kill her. She wasn't a weakling, she knew how to fight. But, unlike her father, she wanted to avoid any possible fight. She took another step backwards. "I'd like to know my murderer before I die, so you are?" She said coyly.
