Starbase Typhon is a roleplay run by me, off site. It is Star Trek based (but not the new movies, as you will see) and it definetly needs people who are willing to be active, write with great grammar, and of course, are semi-literate or above. Format is play by Nova, which involves multi-person posts that are a different way of doing things that here of CS. But it's lots of fun, and we need long term people who will help us complete our missions. As the commanding officer of Typhon, I invite anyone who would like to give it a try to please apply! F'sal Age 25 Gender Male Rank Wingsecond Personality F'sal is on the cunning end of the spectrum. He is a loyal and courageous individual, but six times out of ten he will thoroughly think through the situation and act accordingly. The other four times he will behave in a completely spontaneous manner, especially during battles. F'sal's one guilty pleasure is playing catch the Wingsecond with his dragon in midair. That and tinkering with k'lah recipes are the only frivolous things he indulges in. F'sal is always professional and efficient, but he's no drag to be around. He is considered a catch by the members of the fair sex. History F'sal Impressed Riseruth at the age of 11. He stowed away from Fort Hold when the Search came through and had he not, he would not have been present at Riseruth's hatching. F'sal was, in his youth, a child with rather a large disregard for authority. As he tended towards the cunning, he was able to evade punishment and capture during his mischievous escapades. Weyrmate Despite his high qualifications for Weyrmate-hood, F'sal is currently unattached. He keeps forgetting to desire a Weyrmate. Children None .: Dragon :. Riseruth Age 14 Color Bronze Personality Riseruth is a pedant. He is always pointing out imperfections in his environment. Usually it's just a game, but if his emotional conditions are aligned correctly even the slightest imperfection can arouse his temper. These occurrences are very rare however. Riseruth is always pestering F'sal to fetch him reading materials. Parenting Mother: Gold Doloranth; Father: Bronze Syowrith Mating Partners Flown Gold Liyith once Clutches First clutch of Liyith: 1 bronze, 5 blues, 7 browns, 8 greens. Intro Post stradivariholmes wrote:F'sal had mixed feelings about flying in miserable weather.
On one hand, it was thrilling, being buffeted by wind and dodging lightning bolts. It also challenged both him and his dragon, requiring them to meld minds more than usual. On the other hand, it meant getting drenched, and possibly ill, and having to listen to Riseruth (who couldn't care less, either way) natter about the type of storm they were flying through, or what weather he predicted would be upon them next.
F'sal gave a shout as an unexpected gust of wind nearly drove Riseruth from the roiling sky. Riseruth's right wing was clamped to his body and his left caught an updraft, and he rolled, which almost unseated F'sal. The Wingsecond yelled a wordless challenge to the storm, and grinned.
Riseruth made a sound like a snort of derision at his rider's antics and promptly plummeted to the ground, propelled by a heavy downward gust of wind. F'sal shouted again and Riseruth roared, UNPIN MY WING OR WE DIE! F'sal ripped the saddle straps from his legs and lunged over to the great bronze wing. He felt Riseruth strain beneath him-- all they needed to stabilize was for Riseruth to open his wings-- and as F'sal wedged his hands under the tendons and pushed, nearly falling off, lightning rent the sky, and thunder rolled over the Wingsecond and his bronze.

Madrin Age 19 Gender Female Rank Junior queen Personality Madrin tends towards the sociopathic. She has very little regard for pleasantries and social norms and would rather cut to the chase. On more than one occasion she has acted with no thought towards the consequences. Social interactions are tiresome to her, but she weathers them with the barest degree of diplomacy. She is close to only two beings: her dragon, Chilnith, and her Weyrmate, Talal. History Madrin suffered through life as a child of a socially important man and his ladder-climbing wife in Ruath Hold until age 13, when she Impressed Chilnith. That was the day she smiled with her whole being; now that she and Chilnith are inseparable, that day sometimes can be seen when she smiles, but as she never had much practice before Impression Madrin doesn't put it to much use. She was content to be left to her own devices, and had to learn how to be left to others' as she rose in the ranks of her Weyr. Weyrmate Talal is Madrin's first and only Weyrmate. Children None .: Dragon :. Chilnith Age 4 Color Gold Personality Chilnith is slightly vain and enjoys pampering. She is prone to fits of pique, though these are not frequent. Chilnith is a superb flier, and loves virtually nothing better. Parenting Mother gold Mesalth, father bronze Oreth Mating Partners Chilnith has not yet been flown. Clutches none yet Intro Post stradivariholmes wrote:Twelve hours had passed since Madrin had last seen Talal. For every second of those twelve hours Madrin had silently railed at Chilnith about where her Weyrmate had gone, and if he had returned safely, and whether he was going to leave again.
Madrin, you are being ridiculous, chided Chilnith. Talal only went back to Ruatha. Nothing happened to him.
"Don't mother me, Chilnith," griped Madrin. "He's never left me before." Indeed, Madrin and Talal had been practically unseparated until he left for undisclosed business at the Hold of her birth.
For every second of those twelve hours, Madrin had fretted and sent everyone away, not desiring to engage in the tiresome social rituals she trotted out for interactions with others. She had paced and fidgeted and climbed up and down Chilnith, trying to find comfort in the closeness of her dragon but failing each time.
Oh, Madrin, be sensible, said Chilnith, exasperated. See, he comes.
Madrin flew out the door before Chilnith had finished speaking.

(Gah. -_- I swear I'll be more active once we begin- I just stink with filling out forms.)
.:Rider:.
E’rikeAge 19Gender MaleRank Weyrling PersonalityE’rike is, to be plain, a goof. He teases and jokes, often at times he shouldn’t. He often makes sarcastic comments, but he is rarely trying to be mean, however it may sound. He is kind-hearted, but often doesn't realize when others are hurt or in trouble emotionally. He often zones out, giving the impression of scatterbrained and absentmindedness, though when he does that, he is always thinking of something important.
History Born in a Sea Hold, E’rike’s humor was rarely appreciated, and his quick tongue often resulted in deep trouble by the disciplining leaders of the hold. He learned to keep silent, lest he get another beating, and therefore rarely spoke before coming to Benden Weyr. However, after Impressing his beast at age 16, his old ways and quick wit returned and flourished while alongside the friendly Weyr folk. After that he made friends –and a few enemies- as he protected the planet from Thread.WeyrmateE’rike only ever had one Weyrmate, Chrosta, but she died by the deathly hand of thread while E’rike was 18, after they had been together for two years. A little after that, E’rike had a silent streak, practically becoming self-mute for almost six months. However, soon after he recovered his voice, he began getting even more loud, talking more than he had before the incident. But people still say he is different, because there is always a bit of sorrow lurking in the depths of his eyes.
No current Werymate.ChildrenNone.: Dragon :.SkoritAge1 year, 4 monthsColorBluePersonality Skorit’s serious and composed manner contrasts sharply to E’rke’s personality, though the differences also seem to complement each other. Skorit is daring, but only when the circumstances demand it. He’s calm and collected, rarely getting bent out of shape or upset over things he deems minor. He rarely get’s irritated, but he does have a few very specific pet peeves. Usually though, Skorit is respectful, talented, and, in E’rike’s opinion, far too serious Parenting Mirnith and Sarnath Intro Post *~.imagination.~*
As the sun began to set and darkness swept over Pern, E’rike flew. Legs wrapped around his scaly beast, hands gripping the ropes, and eyes scanning the sky before him. The wind blew through his hair, its icy fingers causing chills to run down his spine. But the blustery air was nothing compared to the frigid, numbing place called Between. He was supposed to be at Benden Weyr just about now, and he knew that, if he didn’t go into Between, he’d be even later than usual. Using his mind to communicate with Skorit, E’rike told him what to do. The creature understood, blinking into the numbing, harsh cold of Between. It lasted only a second, but that second, like always caused his mind to race, his breath to quicken, and his teeth to bite his lip to stop from screaming. Than he was there, dragongliding down to a stop, heart still beating twice as fast as it should have been. He hated that he was one of the few Riders that never really got over their fear of Between. Most were used to it enough that it hardly bothered them. They had found some way to cope for that seemingly eternal second of terror. But not E’rike. He lied and said it didn’t matter, that he could do it easily at this point… but then there was always the question of, if that where the case, why was he always late? Why couldn’t he just blink into Between with his beast and be on time? He never quite knew how to answer that, and by now, most had just stopped asking. He still went through Between if it was exceedingly important, like today, but not often. Today he had made a promise. Today he promised a little girl that he would show her his dragon, and give her a ride. This little girl’s name was Terra, and she was a fosterling. And as he came out of Between, he spotted her, waving her arms wildly to flag them down.
.:Weyrfolk:.
TerraAge12GenderFemaleRankChildPersonality Terra is a quiet and intelligent child, almost always serious. It takes a lot to excite her, but when you do, she’s extremely exuberant, acting like a toddler who was just offered a cookie. She has a Firelizard, whom she dotes on, but looks up to Dragonriders. She doesn’t believe she could ever own one of the magnificent beasts herself, and scolds herself when the thought of somehow Impressing one enters her mind, but jumps at any chance to be near one.HistoryTerra, rather new to the Weyr, is a Fosterling from Balen Hold. Her parents, Amirgo and Anistara, where both merchants from that area. Terra has one older brother, Mikari, whose musical talents have landed him the spot of an Apprentice at Harper Hall. She also has a younger sister, only two, who still lives with her parents. Terra is the Fosterling of Merlinia, whose information is below. LoverNone.:Firelizard:.NameFavicaGenderMaleColorBronze Intro Post*~.imagination.~* wrote: Terra's mind and heart began to race as she quickly cleaned up the spilled water and broken glass she had dropped. If she didn't hurry, she would be late. Not that E'rike was ever on time, but today he had promised, and she wasn't going to be the one to lessen her time with him and Skorit because of tardiness. Finally finished and dropping the shards of shimmering glass into the garbage, she whipped around, ready to run. However, before she had the chance to dart outside, she was stopped by a hand on her shoulder. Looking up, Merlinia was standing, staring down at her with puzzlement.
"Terra, what is all the rushing about?" she inquired, though it was doubtful she didn't already know. Only one thing ever got Terra so worked up.
"Dragons." Terra said breathlessly, her voice quick as she was terrified of being late. "E'rike and Skorit." she finished, confirming the conclusion that Merlinia no doubt had already come to.
"Oh, is that so?" Merlinia asked, a knowing smile spreading across her face. Terra nodded twice, both quick, small movements of her head. "I remember when I was young..." Merlinia started, a playful glint in her eye. Terra's face held a bit of horror at this beginning sentence. She didn't have time for some long story about the Headwoman's childhood! Merlinia gave a laugh at the expression Terra's face showcased.
"Go girl! A joke was all! I don't rattle on about my childhood like those old people." she said through laughs, proclaiming 'old person' like it was some detestable disease that she was completely immune to. Terra flashed a grateful look at Merlina before sprinting out in front of the Weyr, in the place where the incoming dragons where to land. She watched the skies as she did so, her face lighting up as she spotted the dragon that was Skorit, E'rike mounted on top, flashing in from the sky. He had taken Between, and neither of them where late to their meeting with each other. She flagged him down, waving her arms excitedly at the sight of the pair.
.:Weyrfolk:.
MerliniaAge63GenderFemaleRankHeadwomanPersonalityAt first impression, many would consider Merlinia a silly old Aunt of sorts, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Though her personality does match with the doting yet sometimes judging old Aunts, her mind is sharp and everything she says, however it seems, has a purpose. She’s clever and quick witted, and her body is sturdy and strong, not matter how much she complains about ‘old bones’. HistoryMerlinia herself was born in the Sattle Hold, her husband was one in The FisherCraft Hall in Tillek. The two got married at the mutual age of 24, and where happily married until Tarsise died in a fishing accident, age 57. After that, Merlinia went to live with her oldest son, a Dragonrider named Darious, until he moved on an assignment to the South. She remained in Benden Wery after he left, working as a Nurse, and then, eventually, Headwoman as time went on. LoverMerlinia is a widow. Her husband’s name was Tarsise, and he was a fisherman.ChildrenThree grown children, named Darious, Kiren, and F’ling, who live in various parts of Pern. Intro Post*~.imagination.~* wrote: Merlinia was calling to some of the kitchen staff, asking why she found a plateful of uncooked bread dough sitting on the counter. Why wasn't it being cooked? And why are you trying to throw perfectly good tubers away! She was bustling around, directing, rebuking, and cooking, getting ready for the dinner to come. She heard the sound of glass shattering. That was all she needed. Shards of glass flying through the kitchen, perhaps even into the food! That didn't sound appetizing at all. She hurried over, only to find Terra, who had evidently dropped the glass, cleaning it up at top speed. Her usual calm nature replaced with a bit of a frantic, desperate, excited disposition. Immediately she could guess why, as rarely did anything besides Dragon's have the same effect on the girl.
"Terra, what is all the rushing about?" she questioned, already knowing the answer. Terra answered as fast as she could, obviously running late on her meeting with E'rike. With a mischievous glint, Merlinia decided to tease a bit, making to start off on a childhood story. Terra went pale, her face one of terror. A laugh escaped the elderly woman's lips at the girl's clear horror at being late because she was listening to Merlinia's tale. She quickly set her straight, explaining with amusement that it was simply a tease, and then exclaiming that stories like that where for old people. She completely ignored the obvious fact that she too was an old person, and instead sent Terra on her way, chuckling slightly to herself as she bustled around the kitchen in a better mood than before.
PS- Not sure if being Headwoman was allowed, but was trying to think of a position, so that’s what came to mind. XD I’ll edit if not allowed.
