Kyra winced, her life flashing before her eyes as Cassia raised her axe, which gleamed in the firefly lit night...Until there was a commotion, and reality slapped her in the face again. Joshua?! Standing back up quickly, she would start breathing heavily, her eyes full of pain. No, what was he doing here? Wait...Poison...No! She felt a new surge of rage going through her, and something would snap inside of her. Her once anxious self was now replaced with something else...It was the longing for revenge. She would not lose this fight now! "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" She yowled into the air and ran over to her with quick speed, knife in hand. Kyra would attempt to drag it across her chest, her eyes showing no fear.

This wasn't the normal Kyra. This was something beyond herself...

Cassia, side stepped, lunging for Kyra with her axe, throwing all her weight into the attack, trying to crush her enemy under the blade. "You're going to have to try harder than that, six." Cassia spat Kyra's district number like a curse. This girl had evaded her too many times!

Kyra could feel the wind blowing all around, and she managed to barely duck, feeling a small chunk of her hair getting sniped clean off from the axe. Whipping her head back towards her, she let out another cry of rage, swinging again to dig her knife into Cassia's right leg. She could feel Joshua's eyes on her...Oh Joshua, why did you come here?! She would think, biting her lip.

Cassia let out an unholy scream when she felt Kyra's knife dig into her leg. It reopened the wound on her thigh from easier. Cassia's eyes turned wild with anger and she swung at Kyra again, her once graceful and calculated moves turned sloppy and unbalanced. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ONCE AND FOR ALL YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Cassia screeched, somehow looking even more scary than normal.

Kyra's eyes widened hearing her angry yell, but soon she snapped back up and held the bloody knife, now seeing a weak spot. She would wince feeling Cassia's axe scrape against her back, but this was now her chance! Pulling back her leg, she kicked Cassia's weak and bloody leg as hard as she could, hoping to trip her. Thrusting her knife again, she tried to slice Cassia's arm.

Cassia's leg gave out and she collapsed against the ground. Staggering up, she could barely stand on her dominant leg now. Her movements became more chaotic and she stumbled towards Kyra with a scream. Swinging the double sided axe rapidly, she just tried to land blows wherever.

All Cassia could see was Kyra's beautiful yet piercing and narrowed blue eyes staring into her soul as she clenched onto Cassia's double sided axe and snatched it right out of her hand with a quick swift movement. The girl would glare at Cassia, clenching onto her shirt in a quick movement. "BURN." She hissed, before swinging the iron blade as hard as she could at the taller and larger girl.

Cassia wasn't going to win the hunger games. How was that even possible? She hadn't fathomed it. But somehow, Kyra took her own weapon and struck her down, the same poison that she had used before took over her body. As blood began to soak through her clothes and the ground around her, a shrill, shrieking laugh echoed around the arena, and Cassia laughed and laughed until she could laugh no more. That's when a cannon bang was sent out across the woods and the district 2 murderer moved no more.

Kyra heard the cannon, and she felt herself start to cry, looking away from the dead Cassia...She had killed someone...No...This isn't what she wanted. All she wanted was to go home...Actually, she didn't even like it back at home. All she wanted was to be with Joshua...JOSHUA! She looked behind her and gasped, running over to him and stumbling beside him. "J-Josh! Are you ok? Oh god, w-why!? WHY DID YOU FOLLOW ME!" Kyra rasped, while it seemed like she was yelling at Joshua, everyone knew that she was yelling at herself in the end. Wincing, she could feel the wound on her back, the poison slowly sinking in. She held his hands, staring at him while sobbing.

Joshua gasped, tears welling in his eyes. All of a sudden there was a soft pinging from the sky, a silver parachute fell and landed at their feet. Joshua didn't need to look inside to know what it was. It was a cure for the poison. Slowly reaching over and grabbing it, Joshua shakily pried it open, revealing a single syringe with a mysterious green liquid inside. Sorry Joshua, I could only muster enough sponsorships for one cure. Said the simple note from his mentor. Letting out a surprised sob, the tribute stared down at the single syringe. Only one of them wold make it out of this...
