For the second time that day, Karkat's breath was knocked completely out of him. His back smacked against the earth, and he supposed he shouldn't have been too surprised - a pounce greet might have been the only appropriate response to his sudden appearance. Breathlessly, a steady stream of curses flew off of his tongue. '-and for ****'s sake, are those squirrels?!

[Skrooker]

"Yeah, why not? We're pretty much surviving on what we can find, and it's food. I don't see why you're surprised."

[lion's tooth]

-Vriska looked down. It was another one of the old crowd. It would seem more people were still up and about then expected.- "So. It's the loudmouth. You haven't seen anyone else around here, 8y any chance?" -She scuffed the ground her face blank. She was concerned for several people. If Aradia and Terezi hadn't made it... She blamed herself for their weaknesses. She had been the cause of Aradia's, well, condition. And she had dared Terezi to look into the sun all that time ago. What if she was stumbling around, blindly, completely alone in a world of darkness...? But if anyone knew, she supposed it would be Karkat. She furrowed her brows. But it wasn't just them she was concerned for. She had no clue if anyone really was strong enough, no pun intended. So little they knew for certain were okay. She flexed her mechanical fist and switched the bag to her real hand, not wanting to risk the arm's capabilities.-

"Nevermind, I don't even w8nt to know." -Vriska huffed, it would only weigh on her conscience and put her in that dark place she had been to so often when feeding Granmama. (Her lusus.) But of course, that all had ended once she had accidentally stumbled upon a machine Vriska had created with the knowledge of Equius. A dark shadow passed over her face, whether it was from the lighting of the building or emotion it was hard to tell. After a moment the shadow left her face and she grew expressionless.- "D'you think we have enough for now, Haley?" -She asked, changing the subject quickly so as to change the atmosphere. While she seemed to be more lively in a dark atmosphere, she knew that perfectly well and tried to avoid that behavior of hers.-

[Skrooker]

"Yeah, we have enough to last for the next few days without having to go searching again. As long as no one gets greedy, anyway."

[lion's tooth]

"Works for me, then." -The scorpio said and shifted the duffel bag on her shoulder. She looked at the two and jerked her head.- "Just hope neither of you are picky as well as s8ssy. I c8n de8l with a 'tude 8ut not const8nt trips from here 8ack to where we're st8ying." -Vriska said, not exactly meaning the bit about attitude but she couldn't help poking when opportunity knocked. Not that it had knocked, she doubted much of anything would be knocking in this day and age. Day and age, what a weird term. It had only been what, a month or so since everything went to the ground. Yeesh, but fall apart in a month the world did.-

"Pfft. You wish I wasn't picky. But hey, my dad always said that when the economy goes to hell we'd have to start putting up with stuff we didn't like. Don't see how this situation is any different."

-Vriska could imagine alot of ways in which the economy falling and the end of the world could differ, but decided not to speak up, having poked fun so recently.- "Well, one can make a few small sacrifices at the end of the world." -She winced as she spoke the word sacrifice, never having really liked the word. Or specifically when she had to use it.-
