Ironhide’s optics widened slightly. “You’re scary, for a human. You know that right?” He asked, though he was clearly only teasing her. “Wait, if course you do.”

Optimus was brought out of his thoughts by the knock. “Yes Tink, I’m fine. You can come in, if you wish. I’m not busy.” That was partially a lie. While he wasn’t busy physically, his mind was under quite a bit of strain.

"Exactly. Which is why if a Con ever met me, he'd be running away screaming in terror." Rusty said, though it wasn't clear if she was joking or not. "But my invention will help. I actually have to thank Mirage for the inspiration."

Nightshade followed the cousins, a little excited for the experience ahead. She did stay a little close to Jazz along the way.

Tink hesitantly walked in. "Ratchet and I are worried about you. You've been in here almost all day. Is something wrong?"

Jazz sped after them. The drive would give him time to think, and would also help him work off any extra energy he had left over from the race. “Humans sure do have interesting forms of entertainment.”

Ironhide raised an optic ridge curiously. “Really how? What does it do? Turn bots invisible?” He asked.

Optimus sighed, his face mask hiding a frown. “I will not insult you by lying to you. I’ve been greatly troubled by the recent Decepticon attacks, and the many things it could mean.” The leader admitted.

"Is that so? What others do they have aside from movies?" Nightshade inquired.

"Close." Rusty said with a grin. "It turns energon invisible. I just need to work out one little kink in it and I think Telatraan One can help."

Tink nodded sadly in understanding. "There's at least some good out of all this. A femme saved Jazz today from Starscream and Deathclaw. If not for her we would have lost him." She informed him.

Mirage listened to his cousin talk
being a race car on the road he did get some strange looks
but it was monday night, humans were tired
it was easy to brush off as seeing things

Jazz honked his horn with approval, turning on some tunes and blasting through his radio. “Music is one of my favorite things about this planet. So much variety! Much more than any Cybertronian songs!”

“T-That’s amazing! Ah invention like that could change the tide of the war!” Ironhide said in astonishment. “How did you even create it? How is it possible?”

Optimus nodded as she spoke. “Ratchet informed me of the incident with Starscream earlier. I’m afraid I’ve neglected to meet the femme yet, or give her my thanks.” He replied.

Nightshade laughed before listening to the music playing. Jazz was right, it was different, like the all had stories within.

"Well, again, I have to give credit to Mirage. I saw him turn invisible once and I asked him how he was able to do that. A little bit of tinkering later and it's almost complete." Rusty explained. "Like I said, I'm hoping Telatraan One can help with the final part that will insure that the Cons never find it."


"I think she's still around the base." Tink said. "And you didn't neglect any of that, you've had your mind on other things."

Jazz continued to drive, silent now. He focused on the dirt under his tires and the music vibrating through his speakers. He hummed softly to the beat.

The red mech stared at Rusty in disbelief. “That’s genius! None of our scientists have ever thought of using cloaking like Mirage. They’ve all been focused on finding better ways to locate energon.”

Optimus stood, a solemn look in his optics. “The war is getting more intense. I’m not one for taking any life, even that of a Decepticon. However, I fear a day will come when I will be forced to end Megatron’s. I can only hope that Primus shall forgive me.”
