Skye shook his head, holding out his gloved hand. One of the souls floating around came to him as if on command, floating just over his palm. "I am but a shell... I made a terrible mistake that I am unable to correct, and now I pay the price." Skye said lowly, looking at the soul. The lights were slowly vanishing, to a living being's eyes anyway. Skye could always see them. Speak to them. Feel them. "These souls are always here. Although they mean no harm, most find then frightening for a reason I have never understood." He said, looking at the soul he held in his hand. This one was quite the happy one with very few sad moments. It made him want to smile, but the second he would ever try, his curse mark would never allow it. It was shock him into stopping his sense of bliss.

Eleven tensed and then drew in a deep breath, staring at Skye the same way she had the souls. She rubbed the base of her left arm thoroughly, until her skin began to tingle with the feeling as it were burning, and she knew with experience what that felt like. Eleven bit into her lower lip softly, her metal fingers moaning as she continued to rub her arm. She looked around at the orbs of light as they slowly began to disappear and a soft sigh of relief escaped from her pale lips, her muscles easing. Eleven looked down at the ground and then back up at Skye, blinking slowly as she looked up at the boy. "Trust me," she said, slipping to the floor and leaning her head back against the wall. "Being alive isn't as great as it sounds..." Eleven mumbled under her breath, gently placing a hand over her chest. She knew that her heart was still beating, but she couldn't feel it through her metal hand.

Skye lowered his hand and leaned back against the rail, looking out into the distance with a bit of a resentful look. "Life is more of a gift than you know. To be held between life and death is truly cold, and true death is a blessing for those who cannot cling to life." Skye said, his guitar seemingly blowing away into dust as a wind rolled by. "You may have lost a few parts of your body, but you still hold things that I will never be able to for as long as I continue to exist here." He said, letting out a breath against the could air. No vapour. He couldn't make his breath turn to vapour when he blew outwards in the cold, but in warm weather, a mist or fog seemed to follow him everywhere. That was only one thing. He couldn't feel warmth.

Eleven stared up at Skye with dull eyes, her long bangs slipping out from behind her ears and falling in front of her eyes. She let out a sigh, but did not remove the thick dark brown hair from before her eyes. "I suppose you're right..." Eleven mumbled, hanging her head as if she had been defeated, but she had come to appreciated Skye's words. She rocked forward and placed her hands down on the ground before she stood up on her hands, pushing herself up into the air with a mighty force. Eleven curled up into a ball mid-air and tumbled forward, but she stretched out her legs again and landed squarely on her feet. She whipped her head around to face Skye, the jerk of her head parting her bangs away from her right eye. Eleven let out a sigh and then slowly walked up to Skye, smiling at him softly. "Thanks for the help... And the talk..." She said, smiling up at Skye and her eyes gleamed deviously. Eleven turned her gaze down to her right arm and then she flipped a panel on her right wrist, opening up a deep compartment which contained a thick wad of dollar bills. She scooped up the money and then thrust her hand out to Skye, her eyes softening. "Take it..." Eleven said in a voice so soft it could be a whisper; in her out thrust hand she held fifteen hundred dollars.

Alice was wandering around again, wondering what her encounter with that girl was all about. She didn't have time to concern herself with the problems of others at that moment, she felt like going to the forest like area, so she would be able to think more about things. Alice was parting some tree branches that were in her way. She took a deep breath in, and continued on walking.

[Mayiamaru]

Skye raised his hand to reject the offer and shook his head. "I hold an obligation towards the living. It was my own promise and I do not require payment. Even if I were to accept your gesture, I still must serve my time before any of it is able to be used." Skye said, then lowered his hand, putting it on his knee. "I will be leaving once the sun begins to rise." He said, glancing out towards the horizon to check for signs of dawn. Jail wasn't his first choice, but he was convicted and he must serve his time. He had no choice, and even if he did, he wouldn't have made it. Freedom is one thing, but to pay for a crime is another. Rioku, Mayia and Hunter were around to take care of the silver carnations he had planted here and in the public garden in town, and the house took care of itself. If he were to disappear, nothing would change, or at least that is how he thought.

Eleven frowned deeply when Skye refused her offer to give him money for his assistance, but she kept her hand out to Skye. "Skye, please just take the money..." she said in a soft voice, puckering out her lower lip childishly. Eleven felt like she owed Skye something for his help, and in this case she was offering him hundreds of dollars. She shot Skye a fierce look, as if threatening him to accept the money. Eleven fought to make as much money as she did and she constantly had to buy replacements for her metal limbs, so offering as much as she was to Skye was a show of sheer gratitude. She smiled weakly at Skye, her eyes sparkling from beneath her bangs. "Or at least I could help you with... I dunno... What do you need done around here?" Eleven asked, tilting her head slightly to the left, causing her bangs to fall over her eyes again.

"If you feel you must repay me, you may take my place while I serve my time." Skye said without taking much time before he spoke. "Living here, there are the few instances where runaways appear in these parts. I take them in every now and then or return them to their homes after bringing a bit of sense to them. There is also a girl who goes by the name of Mayia. Once a week, you are to visit her in my place. She is quite the timid creature, though she just might grow to trust you in time. I visit the orphans in the building within town three times within the week as well as bring food to those in the more poverty stricken areas of town each day. There is also the issue of my memorial gardens. If you turn around, you will see the field alight with silver carnations. Those are all planted by myself and I take much of my time to care for them all. You will have some help from Rioku as well as Mayia if she decides that she wishes to live here once more. The flowers I have planted within the public garden are tended by Rioku and I usually." He explained. These were basically most of the things that he does on a daily basis. "I see that it is quite a bit, but that is what I take as a responsibility. If you wish to repay me, that is all I require until such a time when I am legally released."
