Sarina stared intently at the items for several moments, her eyes narrowed intently as she focused. Some of the labels she recognized. "Hydrogen peroxide." her tone was certain. She pulled the white canister from the lot, rummaged around and found some cotton balls, then dampened them with the watery fluid. She swiftly wiped Akane's shallow cut, moving with precision and certainty. It was coming back to her now. "It'll sting her a bit." she mumbled, mostly to herself, as she saw the inflamed pinkness around the wound recede slightly. She stood, her limbs shaking ever so slightly, and scanned the room. Eventually, she found a glass and filled it with sink water. Then she drizzled it over Akane's scratch, holding a towel under the girl's chin to keep water from splattering on her clothes. Later, it would seem ridiculous that she'd taken care to protect a shirt when giving attention to a poisoned girl, but she was simply mirroring what her dead mother had once done. She turned back to the supplies, shifting them around in search of anything else that would help, crossing the fingers on her free hand in hope that Akane would wake.

Upstairs, there was a crash of something falling and the twin Vampires could hear a sort of commotion. Someone was in trouble. Stark's worried voice carried through the old house, bouncing off the walls and full of concern. One of those girls were in trouble, and Kole was itching to get up there and help out, but he didn't want to risk another blood-hunger attack. What if that winged girl was still bleeding? Going up those steps just might spell more trouble than anything. With an irritated frown, Kole leaned back and glanced at his twin. It seemed Kain was also a little worried about the others well-being, but not so much. he was more calm. Oh what a brother he had.

Stark's voice came to me through the black ink-like haze that filled my mind. I could hear him and Sarina. I wanted to say something. Anything. Tell them what they could do and that I would be fine, but I couldn't. At least not yet anyway. It would be a while. Stupid Hunter and his poisoned bullets! Urgh, I was so MAD. Sarina said the word poroxide and I knew that they were trying to see if they could get the poison out of the cut. It was too late, though. The poison was already running through my veins. If only I had realized it sooner! At least I wouldn't die. Being half wolf demon was good for things like that. Even though I wan't actually immortal, I was pretty close. I could hear the two of them talking again. I had a feeling that Sarina was cleaning that bullet graze on my face, but I could feel nothing. The worry that they were feeling crept up on me. I wanted to open my eyes, but it was so hard and the darkness of sleep very tempting...by sheer will-power, I forced open my eyes, gold flashing under the bathroom light. Feeling came back slightly to my limbs, but I knew it wouldn't last long. I had to keep myself aware just long enough to tell them what to do and how long I'd be out. "Stark." I managed, gritting my teeth as I willed my eyes to remain open. "...not gonna die. Two days...maybe..." that was as much I could get out before I had to fall silent. The more I talked it seemed the more likely it was for me to fall back into that haze of blackness. I glanced at Sarina and gave a wry smile. "Sorry..." I told her. I guess finishing up her medical stuff wasn't going to happen. The room spun and I nearly collapsed agains as my arms gave way under me, but I forced myself awake again. I was so not fainting. Nuh-uh...not gonna happen.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I watch silently as Sarina goes through the procedures of cleansing the wound. Who knows, maybe I could learn seomthing from her. My bright eyes kept flickering back and forth between Akane and Sarina. I wondered if and when Akane was going to wake from her dreamstate. I watch closely as Sarina pours the water gently over the scratch. Hm, I wasn't going to critique her, because I know for d*mn sure that better than I can do. Instead, I continue to remain silent. I didn't even notice Akane's sudden change in movement, until her voice spoke my name softly. I instantly looked over at her, my icey blue eyes meeting her golden ones. "Akane?" I was glad she was awake now. I watched as she struggled and I postioned myself to where I could support her. I sighed in relief as she told us that she was not going to die. Well, that's good. Two days... it took me a few seconds to know what she was talking about. Then it finally hit me. 'Ah, two days until she'll be better," I thought. I didn't take my gaze away from the Hanyou, since I knew she was struggling, even to keep her eyes open. Her arms gave out and my instinct took over. I shifted postions again, so now I had a strong, yet not strangling, hold around Akane. "Hey, everything's going to be okay," I said. I thought I'd try to confort her, even though I wasn't sure that was the case. Yeah I know, I''m a hypocrite, whatever.

17/♀/Single ♥/Fallen Angel: Affinity for Darkness

"In the darkness, there's no such thing as light."

I smile a little as I see the dragon girl following me. I noticed she was having some trouble, but I kept weaving therough the branches anyway. We were almost to the house now. I look back at her again. "Hey, we're almost there!" I called back to her. I picked up the pace a little as I got the conforting feeling of home the house gave me. I saw it come into view, and I swooped down, so I was just hovering above the ground. I made it to the door and my wings whipped across my chest in a beatiful array of darkness so I could land. I lean against the house and look for the girl, to see if she made it here okay. My wings folded against my back as usual.

Sarina gave a weak, nervous laugh as Akane apologized to her. "Don't be sorry. We're just happy you're okay." she murmured. Relieved that Akane was positive she was going to stay alive. Also that she was waking. "We should move you someplace more comfortable." she suggested quietly, giving the injured girl an awkward pat on the shoulder. It had been a while since she'd tried to soothe someone--and even longer since she'd been comforted.

How strange it was, that Sarina, she who no longer trusted anyone, who would never let anyone close enough to hurt her, cared so deeply and protectively for these two that she'd just met. Akane and Stark, the boy who'd saved her life and the girl who'd helped her live.

For a moment, I faded into the blackness, but forced myself back into the waking world long enough to realize that I hadn't been able to keep myself up and that Stark had instinctivly put an arm around me. I heard Sarina say something and it took a few seconds to make sense out of the jumble of words. She was right, but I couldn't move. The posion had made my limbs numb, and I barely had the strength to speak now. Not only that, but the stupid poison decided it wanted to set my nerves onto 'pain' mode. Oh great. I was only half-aware of Sarina and Stark now. I focused more on trying not to bite through my lip when a shudder of pain ran up my spine. Yeah. Two days of being unable to move and feeling a rush of pain every so often...what fun. Not.

"Yeah, I'm a bit cocky...What's your point?"

I nodded in agreement to Sarina's statement. I shifted my gaze to Akane. I frowned a little as I saw her trying more and more to stay awake each minute. She was not good right now. "Okay Akane, I'm going to take you to one of the rooms so your can rest okay?" I looked at Sarina. I wasn't sure how she was doing physically. I rasied my eyesbrows in question. I scooped up Akane into my arms and slowly stood, trying not to shake her to much. I turn away from Sarina and head out the door of the bathroom. I noticed that each room was decorated and designed differently than the other was. Hmm. I decided to choose the room that I thought best suited Akane. I carefully et her down on the plush bed and pull up the covers, just shy of her shoulders. "I'll see you soon Akane," I said softly. I started for the door, but then stopped myself. I wanted to make sure she didn't need anything before I left. I wasn't sure if she was out yet, so I leaned against the wall and waited.

After a while, I couldn't hear anything anymore and had sunk into the black haze. Before I was out, I heard Stark tell me he was going to take me to one of the rooms. Okay. Good thinking. Too bad I couldn't move. If I could have, I wouldn't have let him carry me. Geeze, I was like a damsle in distres, wasn't I? The distressing part was that I had to be carried. I don't remember when, but I finally had blacked out. I hoped everyone would be alright for two days. And I hoped that within that time, nothing serious would happen. Don't you hate it when you're wrong?

The silver-haired Vampire twins decided to go for a walk. The smell of blood was fading, but they didn't like to sit still for such a long time. They took a path near the trees, walking quietly under a half-moon. Huh. Funny. Usually in times like this, one would expect to see a full moon. "So..." Kain muttered. "What should we do now?" he glanced at his twin, who was looking thoughtful. What COULD they do? Hunters where after them. They weren't human. They couldn't go back to the human world even if they wanted to. Kole sighed. "I dunno." he shrugged, looking at Kain. "Any ideas?" at this, his brother shrugged, too. They fell silent again. It was when they passed a large thicket that they could hear the voices. People. Out here? Kain and Kole exchanged a look. They crept closer to where the men sat, huddled around a very tiny fire. Hunters! Their fire was so small...no one could have spotted it from the house. "Are you sure those kids is what we're lookin' for?" one of the men grunted. The second nodded. "Yep...all of 'em are not human." there was also a third. He smirked, showing of yellow teeth. "Can't wait for the pay we'll get. It'll be over a thousand grand!" he laughed. Kole looked at his twin. "Oh-no." he whispered. This wasn't good. Kain took a step back and Kole followed. There was a snap, and they took off to the house. "Huh? What was that?" they heard one Hunter say. Another snorted. "Prolly just a squirrle. Now go to sleep."

I noticed how akane become more relaxed, her breathing becoming more natural and less strained. Yep, she was out. I walk out of the room and quietly shut the door behind me. I saunter down the hall and make my way back to the bathroom where Sarina was waiting. "Hey," I said as I walked in. "So, how are you doing?" I asked. I was't sure how far Akane got on fixing up Sarina. I leaned against the door jam of the large, open, dark oak door. I run a palish hand through my fluff of pitc black hair before folding my arms across my black v-neck tee.
