| Isabelle Yencha
16 | She/her | Poseidon | Hampton Inn; Dining Room | Rochelle--> Ash, Jamie

Isabelle shrugged when Rochelle didn't immediately respond. With that, she was in the hall, glaring at a still life of a fruit bowl (Really? Fruit? Also if a real apple was that color, I would pass) She twisted in the hallway, considering her options. On the one hand, hotel hallways all look the same. On the other hand, hotel hallways are all the same. She fiddled with a sleeve. One way was as good as the other... at least, that's what she told herself. Mind suddenly made, she took a plunge and went left, wandering along until a guide sign appeared. Oh yes, I am clearly a genius! Food, let's go!

Dining room located, her pace quickened. Food was good and all, but her main concern was the local dimwits leaving without her. It had happened before and was generally not fun. Especially when I got stuck with those Roman idiots- no thanks! She wrinkled her nose, but soon enough the location of vittles pushed it away. In the interest of finding the fellow demis quickly, Isabelle strode to the middle of the room and took a slow spin. Old ladies...eww, sticky children...hmm, weird redhead, that's a hard maybe...ah!

The person in question was a brunette- Jack or something- who was currently chatting by a purple haired boy who had terrible taste in waffle toppings. Wait, I think I know him too? Give it a minute, he looks... vaguely familiar... "Calling me 'fine' is a bit of a stretch. I'll take it, " She butted right into their conversation and made herself right at home. "Hello, yes. Isabelle here, Roxie is currently speaking to your leader, Tomas? She said it wasn't 'Tent', but I think it might've been? Anyway, we're with you for murking ice queen and her cronies or whatever." She nodded along with her own words, as if they were already fact carved in stone.

| Ophelia Rogers
16 | She/her | Aphrodite | Cabin 10 | Robyn

Scathing as the comment was, it was real. Ophelia shrugged. Mira was a force of nature, that couldn't be argued with, even as she tore herself apart in doing so. The way Robyn tripped over her words hit close to home, and a sorry smile crept over her face as her sister dug herself deeper into it. Gods, I felt that. "I know, it's just..." A word clung to the tip of her tongue, but Ophelia couldn't quite find it. Wrong? Strange? Chaotic? "Different," She settled for a word that wasn't enough rather one that might push it too far, make it seem like she really was out of her depth and running out of breath.

At Robyn's response, Ophelia let out the air she'd been using to prop up her facade of indifference. "Oh, good," She said softly, a smile breaking over her face. "Er, the joining me part!" She spoke too fast, words blurring together as she moved to fix her mistake. "It's not that bad, I can show you!" One earned a soft spot for camp when there was no other options. "It's... just a lot right now." She said, offering her hand to lead Robyn from the porch.

| Reese Dawson

Reese swung his hand in a half-hearted attempt to knock Auggie off her high horse. Doing so nearly rocked him off his balance, but he recovered with a bit of maneuvering, shuffling his feet on the icy path before they could shuffle away from him. He had not intended to strike her, merely to swat at her in the vain way that one tries to smack a fly. "You are correct; it is not living it's life, it is living it's best life!" His voice rose with his spirits, even if his lungs were not yet fully capable. Any ulterior meaning fell by the wayside, as all of his focus had been expended on parrying her snark. Heck, he barely noticed her face softening at something that Orin had said. Mentally, he made a note to ask the man for pointers on bringing out the sweet in his sister.

The dining pavilion crept up in the distance, still painfully far. Reese refrained from speaking on their snail's pace. For all her pomp and circumstance, Auggie was much like a butterfly- voicing the obvious would only cause her to fly off on an ephemeral breeze.

Rexxington Repimus

18 years old/August 13th/Male (he, him)/Pansexual, Demisexual with a slight male lean/Cabin 1: Zeus/Pet: Kordia (Munchkin Cat)/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Press, Hunter/4 beads

Rex nodded with his eyes unreadable, “No kidding Press.” He looked around and said, “How are you cold? I’m not!” He nods and says giving him a smile, “Your correct that I am a Demi-god of Zeus. We should totally go over there. Hey anything about yourself being claimed by your godly parent?” Rex said, “It takes time Press. Your godly parent still cares about you very much I’m sure. Just keep patient and keep yourself up. It’ll happen at some point I’m sure of it!” Rex walked with Press to the pavilion and saw a male looking to be older than him. He waved to the male and said with a smile, “Hey you! Wanna come over here and sit with us?” Rex nodded to Press and smiled to the boy.

Ava Fisher

17 years old/July 13th/Female (she, her, they, them)/Pansexual/Cabin 6: Athena/No Pets Currently/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Kaden/6 beads

Ava sighed and walked around. She looked around to find someone from her cabin or one of her friends. As she looked around, she noticed how beautiful the camp was. She wondered why so many people weren’t up despite what happened yesterday. As she saw someone from her cabin, Kaden Turner. She really haven’t interacted with him so she decided to walk over and talk to him. She walked over and said, “Kaden Turner right? I’m not sure if you remember me, but my name is Ava Fisher. I’m in the same cabin as you, Athena.”

Presley “Press” Weston

14 years old/October 12th/Male (they, them, he, him)/Pansexual/Cabin 11: Hermes (Apollo is Godly Parent)/Chase: German Shepherd, MoonWatcher: Pegasus/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Rex, Hunter/0 beads

Press said, “Not may people up since the events that have happened.” He shivered and he said, “I’m super cold!” He rolled his eyes and said, “Your a child of Zeus so of course your not!” He shivered again and looked over to Rex. He then looked over to the dining pavilion and he said, “Why don’t we go over there and eat and maybe talk to someone to lighten the mood ya know.” Press sighed and said shaking his head, “No and I really don’t think it will ever happen. I feel like they are neglecting me, but hopefully something soon.” He sighed and nodded. As he called someone over, he looked to Rex pleadingly not to and he looked over to the male.

Kaden Isaac Turner | Athena | 18 | Tagging: Ava | Location: Camp, Dining Pavilion

Feeling guilty about it, although they were in the same cabin and Kade had been there for gods only knew how many years, he really DIDN'T recognize the young woman in front of him, so he was glad she had bothered to approach him in the first place. He was never one to turn down company, and besides…she was one of his siblings! Okay no, that felt weird when it was someone he didn’t even know. He moved over to make room for Ava though, a small smile flickering onto his face. "Hey. Yeah, call me Kade. Everyone else does!" He chirped. Honestly he was just glad to meet one of the cabinmates he had yet to become familiar with. "Nice to meet you, Ava."

Hunter Cameron Mayhem | Ares | 19 | Tagging: Rex, Press | Location: Camp, Dining Pavilion

Hunter looked around, but no one else was paying attention. Was the comment directed at HIM? He had never been entirely sure of the rules regarding seating, but…he’d never seen anyone sit at a table not assigned to their respective cabins. Most people didn’t exactly want to call for the company of one of the more aggressive Ares kids as it was. However, he awkwardly stood up and shrugged. He could keep his head about him for a time for the sake of a chance to get to know his fellow campers. So Hunter made his way over. "If you guys were talking to me, uh…sure." Very few people were at his table as it was, so it wasn’t like he would be missed if he left. He tended to be more in the shadows when he wasn’t training or fighting anyway though, so he reckoned he wouldn’t be in TOO much trouble for slipping away.

Samantha "Sam" Semuels

16 ~ Athena (Unclaimed) ~ Lesbian ~ Half Blood-Hill ~ Tags: Oliver, Aoife, Juliet

Everything was moving too fast. Sam's head was spinning. How could any of this be real? One girl, the one who insisted on calling her "chick," was running toward her. No, she was running toward the skeleton. Great, she was insane. The girl was telling Sam to run. Just as she was going to get up, a boomerang hurtled toward her. Did that have a blade on it?
With a scream, Sam dropped back down. "No way! I'm staying here!" Sam was determined to stay put. That was, until the boomerang crashed through the skeleton's ribs.
Heart pounding, Sam scrambled through the snow. She made her way to the big pine tree, ducking behind it. "Can somebody tell me how a pine tree is going to save me? This seems ridiculous."

"Wha - Aiden! Um - no - don't -" The charmspeak that followed, though weak, was enough for Aiden to loosen his grip on the offender. Enough for him to roll over and face the child of Athena still pinning him to grave. "Why not? Wasn't he attacking you?" Aiden raised an eyebrow, though pieces started slowly coming together. The man had no visible injuries, not to mention he was incredibly scrawny. There was no way he could have caught Mira off-guard in the first place, much less come out of the encounter unscathed. The mention of midget, however, sent much of his sense out the window. He punched him in the face, deciding to use that as a test of the truth behind whether he was a ghost or not. "I'm not short!" he snapped. "Mira, there's no way he's a ghost. I couldn't touch him if he was - I couldn't even see him. Are you sure?"

He clamored off Clive and attempted to approach the Aphrodite counselor. "I'm fine!" He flinched, recoiling back. "Mira..." He wanted to argue. He wanted to give her the biggest hug he could muster. He wanted to do a lot of things, but none of them were worth making her feel worse than she already did. Instead, he quailed. "Yeah, yeah I'll go get it," Aiden replied, defeated. "Sorry,"

He didn't linger. Mirabelle had left her backpack on the chair in the dining room, and the amount of faith she put in both the honor of strangers and the other questers' abilities to keep an eye on her belongings astounded him. Though, at the time he'd been sitting next to the bag, so she likely just had that faith in him. He tried to think of it that way, despite how harsh she'd been any time the subject of her own wellbeing came up. Aiden snapped the shoulder strap and slung it onto his back, making the trip as quickly and discreetly as possible. When he returned to the bathroom this time, he knocked to announce his presence. "I have your bag," he said, pushing the door open (gently this time) and holding it out to Mirabelle. He wanted to say more, but he didn't.

Lucy wasn't prepared to wait for an answer, and unfortunately, Sylvester was quick to respond. Just what I wanted this morning. She seethed internally, though the disdain was clear on her face. "Fine, just don't get lost." Lucy tugged up her coat collar and stepped into the snow, moving past Sylvester with confidence in her step. Normally, Chiron wasn't a hard (man? centaur?) to find, but now that his favored roost of the Big House no longer stood, where to find him was a little more up in the air. As Lucy pondered where to begin, the thought of breakfast edged its way into her mind. Although her information for Chiron was important, maybe it could wait until after she'd eaten. She wasn't quite 100% on an empty stomach.

"I suppose we'll try the dining pavilion first," she decided, rubbing her nose with her sleeve to keep it from getting ice cold. "If he isn't there, I can at least start with some breakfast." Sylvester could as well if he'd yet to eat, she assumed. Without so much as a side glance to the former camper, Lucy made her way to the mess hall with purpose. She was a little surprised to find a crowd mulling about the spread, which was notably less grand than they usually were. It seemed as though everything going on was even getting to the dryads and harpies. Like the day before, campers mingled between the tables and Mr. D was nowhere to be found. So much for him threatening to turn anyone into dolphins this year. There was a strange sense of peace, and for once, Lucy had no desire to disturb it. Among the faces in the pavilion, she spotted Leo's. He and I may need to have a talk later. Or now, depending on how breakfast went. With no sign of Chiron for the time being, Lucy resigned herself to put her search on hold, grabbing herself a plate instead. She turned to see if Sylvester was still there, snootiness everpresent in her tone. "Are you coming or not?"

The mention of eighteen brought about a laugh, quickly muffled by Kayle's hand. "God, you must be fun at parties." she poked sarcastically. "Is that the only thing stopping you? You shouldn't worry so much, I'm only nineteen. Ain't stoppin' me, chica." Though in Kayle's defense, she had a much higher alcohol tolerance than most people her age - she was about one of the only people who could compete with her brother in a drinking contest (which although they'd never done, she had confidence she could beat him). "But, food first. Stories about drunk me later." Vivienne had a point about "obtaining sustenance and getting a move on" (or whatever she said) - they were on a time crunch, as far as Kayle was aware. Vivienne wasn't staying long, Nicholas made that clear the night before. They had somewhere to be, which is what prompted the errand running this morning. The plan, however, had been for Nick to chaperone instead. So much for that idea, she thought with a puffy breath. "Pick something quick, we've got things to do and places to be." On top of that, she needed to get back - Nick was making her worry, and she didn't know if he needed a hug or a walloping yet.

Once Vivienne decided on a waffle and some breakfast dishes to complement it, Kayle waved down the server for refills and ordered for the both of them. She didn't expect it to be too long on their meal, especially considering the speed with which their order went onto the flattop. "Chocolate chips are a good choice. That's my mother's go-to every time we eat here." The events were notably less frequent now, since Kayle spent less and less time at home. "I wonder how their vacation's going, I haven't called them since they left. Not to mention they left without really giving me a head's up on it. At least the house is empty," she mused idly. "I could throw a hell of a party... Oh, they left Biscuit behind, didn't they?" Worry flooded her tone. "Maybe. I don't actually know. They didn't leave him with me," Kayle hadn't thought to check the house last time she was there. If they had, what was she supposed to do? She couldn't take care of him; her lease was no pets.

Rexxington Repimus

18 years old/August 13th/Male (he, him)/Pansexual, Demisexual with a slight male lean/Cabin 1: Zeus/Pet: Kordia (Munchkin Cat)/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Press, Hunter/4 beads

Rex smiled and said walking over to him, “Yes you. What’s your name and what cabin are you in?” He noticed the young man having a bit of a skittish personality in his eyes, but he didn’t mind. He said, “I apologize how rude of me, I’m Rexxington Repimus, but Rex is my official name self proclaimed.” He stood to his highest height without tip toes and said, “I’m part of the mighty Zeus cabin, the best cabin there is!” While Press just stood there not saying anything, he said with a it of a sarcastic comment added, “Well Press is sure talkative today! Anyway, this is Presley Weston or Press as you might have heard. He’s in the Hermes cabin. He’s not been claimed yet by his godly parent. Sad thing he hasn’t been claimed. He’s new to camp though so as a child of one of the main gods, I’ve brought it upon myself to show him around!”

Ava Fisher

17 years old/July 13th/Female (she, her, they, them)/Pansexual/Cabin 6: Athena/No Pets Currently/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Kaden/6 beads

Ava said with her eyes bright, “Ooo, Kade, I like it. Nice to meet you as well Kade.” She looked around and glanced at the people around her and then she said Turnier attention to him, “So, since we have the same godly parent, Athena, I assume if your in the cabin, you’ve been shown as Athena’s son. I was actually kinda nervous when I figured out I was a demi-god. It seemed scary to me being that I was a daughter of one of the gods. Enough about me, I wanna know more about you. How long have you been here at Camp Half-Blood. I’ve been here for six years and never once have we interacted. Hmm... I find that kinda weird if you ask me, but such is the way things go ya know.”

Presley “Press” Weston

14 years old/October 12th/Male (they, them, he, him)/Pansexual/Cabin 11: Hermes (Apollo is Godly Parent)/Chase: German Shepherd, MoonWatcher: Pegasus/Location: Camp Half Blood/Tags: Rex, Hunter/0 beads

Press sighed as the male came over. He began to stroke his German Shepherd and smiled down at the dog. With that Rex paused, he didn’t say anything. Gosh why did he have to be so awkward. He punched Rex lightly as he had made a sarcastic comment. He sighed and shuffled his feet in the snow, feeling the cold really seep into his body. His hands grew numb, but his feet were toasty in the black and white striped socks he was wearing along with the comfy boots were nice and toasty. He wanted to run away back to the Hermes cabin or to the battle field where he could properly use his small bow and arrow one of his foster dad, Gerald gave him when he was a younger boy. He smiled at the thought, but looked down to the snow again after glancing at the male.

the events surrounding the claiming seemed to be the regular story, the release of inhibition, the fighting. "good," he said. "didn't even get the chance for that. got claimed soon as i came through the border." a moment for thought, the memory far away and barely tangible. "had, like, two weeks in the big house. debriefing." at the time, he had felt antsy and trapped. looking back, he had been a bare-chested, bruise-painted teenager with fewer words to speak than possessions. if he had been chiron, he would have kept his younger self in that isolation for months. maybe it would have made a difference. or maybe not.

the return of the rings was a comfort in and of itself, and leo didn't miss the shock that seemed to drip from his newly-deemed half brother. "you get used to it," he said. "i bet you're sick of hearing that." everything about camp was so strange that at some point, the bizarre had become normal. had they been a normal pair of knuckle dusters, they would have been anomalous. this mental conditioning hadn't quite taken hold on vittorio yet, though, and let out a huffed, amused breath when the idea that the entire camp was a concoction of a subconscious running wild. "i don't think i'm creative enough to dream up half of this mess. wouldn't be able to sell this story on the outside world. too unrealistic."

he didn't miss lucy's entrance, but the mere sight of her made him tense. it was a reminder of the day before, of all of those conflicting emotions that he was in no way prepared to confront. "should probably get there quickly. they descend like vultures. there'll only be apples on the turn and raw porridge oats left in ten minutes." braving the storm, he stood. "personally, i'm gonna stack an unholy amount of bread."

given that he had been sat down and against the wall, clive found it difficult to believe that the intruder had assumed that he was performing an attack, but that was by the by. he had little chance to comment on this, however, because as soon as the short jokes came, a fist was connecting with his face. the force was enough to cause his head to spin on his neck, as though caught by something in another direction, but he felt little else. “i'm not a ghost? well, that's news to me. i mean, i thought that the son of - er - death i'd been natterin' with would have been able to tell the difference. god, maybe i don't even need his funky little watch to touch things. maybe -" he threw emrys high in the air, put his hand through the wall he leant against, then returned it to its original spot to catch the falling silver disc. “but if you're not convinced i died three-and-'alf decade ago, i'm sure you're the authority," he really had to suppress the urge to finish that sentence with a trite 'bilbo stabbins', near biting his tongue off to keep the syllables from running away from him. gone were the days of returned physical violence. he was well aware of his own fragility, even in spiritual form, and without the eruption of manic energies that had once fuelled vicious, signet-ring-adorned strikes, he was resigned to sardonic teasing.

the boy left, and clive managed to hazard a glance at mira, face a little softer than it had been moments prior. “you alright?" he asked. difficult to be confronted so suddenly in such a state. a bubble of thought rose up the tunnel of his throat and popped, leading to a little chuckle. “you know, i haven't been punched since eighty-one. i've missed it. and i didn't even feel it. that's not fair." an unnecessary sniff, a glance around at the room that enclosed them. “when i met taf- teilo, i didn't think 'e'd be the mannered one. startin' to feel a little thankful i never made it to that camp'o yours." but it was said with a smile, a wry sort of humour that poked fun at his own circumstances for the sake of detaching the distressed teenager from some of her own.

when the slap-happy boy returned, he offered a little wave. “clive, by the way. very impressive display. i'm sure your right hook is as powerful as it is uncalled for. a shame not to feel such un-presidented physical prowess." slack had to be cut for his erroneous use of the english language, he figured. he was often well aware when he'd made a mistake, but wore it as a badge of honour. at least someone was there to hear him mottle the words. two someones, in fact. it must have been christmas.

Mirabelle Everhart
||17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Hampton Inn, Bathroom|Tags: Clive, Aiden|

By the time Mirabelle realised how harsh she had been, it was too late. Aiden had already flinched back as if she had physically struck him. Her heart twisted in her chest, her eyes widening in horror at what she had done. But then he was gone, leaving to complete the task she'd so impolitely ordered him to do.
"you alright?"
The sound came from the recently punched Clive. She was so wrapped up in her own misery that she'd actually forgotten Aiden had punched him, but... well, to be fair, he was making some rather nasty jokes about Aiden's height. Even Juliet knew better than to tease Aiden about his height. "F-Fine," she managed, though she was anything but. Seeing Aiden flinch away from her like that - it made her feel like a monster. I need to apologise. "Just fine." A bit stronger this time. Less wobbly. Still quiet and much higher than it should have been, but mildly believable at least. The rest of Clive's words went over her head; in one ear and out the other. She heard them, but she didn't. She felt like the floor had dropped out beneath her feet.

Aiden's return was as gentle as his voice, as the motion he used to offer her the backpack. Her hands shook as she accepted the canvas sack. "I'm - I'm sorry, Aiden, I didn't mean - I just - I'm sorry." She hung her head, unable to bring herself to meet his gaze. "I didn't want you to see me like this." A small shudder wracked her willowy frame as a sudden chill came over her. She wrapped an arm around herself and rubbed her shoulder with a thumb, for warmth and comfort equally. "I just - how did you put it - I crumbled. I crumbled and then I shattered into a million pieces like the damn mirror and I didn't want you to see, I didn't want anyone to see, and then Clive - and - and then you - th-there's just so much pressure all the time and I know I shouldn't worry b-but I c-c-can't not and I - I d-didn't really sleep last night and I d-don't feel good and I j-just want to keep everyone safe b-but I-I s-snapped at you and p-pushed you away wh-when all you w-were doing was trying to h-help because it's the only thing I know h-how to do - I just - I e-end up h-hurting everyone I c-care about and I - Aiden - I-I'm s-so s-s-sorry..." She was crying again; a torrent of shame and guilt leaking out through her face and she was helpless to do anything about it. "What is w-wrong with me? I - I'm s-sorry - I can't - I c-can't make it s-stop..." This wasn't the hidden, silent kind of crying she was used to. It was raw and emotional and messy. Sobs choked her chest, her nose was running, and her shoulders were shaking as she tried her best to force it all back in. It felt like something was tearing her apart from the inside, ripping its way out of her through her chest. She couldn't bear the thought of him seeing her in such a state.

The backpack thudded to the ground listlessly, its importance all but forgotten. Her arms came up to hide her face, her body turning away even as she crumpled inwards. "J-just g-g-go," she hiccupped pathetically. And part of her wanted him to. But most of her was screaming for him to stay, so she wouldn't be alone with her pain. Well - not alone. There was Clive, but Clive was a veritable stranger. She wanted - no, she needed someone she could trust. Why am I still pushing him away? I don't want him to leave, I don't... "Wait - I-I'm s-sorry." It felt like the millionth apology of the morning. "I d-don't really m-mean that, I just -" she took a shuddering breath in. "Y-You shouldn't h-have to d-deal with this. I-I d-don't want to be a b-b-burden."

Kathryn let the insults slide off of her like the snake she was. Or, at least, she gave no indication that they had bothered her in the slightest. But something about Evie's words caught inside of her - they irked her. Of course they would put me in charge! Why wouldn't they? I'll be better than that half-wit Johnathan, that's for sure. Kathryn knew when she was being played with. Evie's smile was too tight, the corners too drawn to be real. Those pretty eyes of hers remained stolid and unfeeling. If she had been in a better mood, she would have shot back with an underhanded compliment. Honestly I just want her out of my hair as quickly as possible. Her image wouldn't allow for that, however. She had to keep up appearances, after all. Can't have anyone thinking I've gone soft.

"A favour," Kathryn purred in response. "To be called in later, of course." She liked it when people owed her favours. It gave her power over them. Vice versa was a different story. I still owe Elfie and Emerson for what they did for me yesterday, she reluctantly recalled. I'll have to pay those back today, if possible. The shorter the period of time she owed someone, the better. I can't have those debts hanging over my head like a spider. It was her job to be the spider, not theirs. "Fine. Go bother someone else, for all I care." She called Evie's bluff. Everyone knew that she was the best source of rumours and information in camp. Well, aside from Lucy, but Lucy was more careful about keeping her true nature under wraps. Kathryn liked being feared; she fed on it. Being feared gave her respect. It's not like these morons would respect me if they didn't fear me.

She knew Evie could just walk away, maybe even go ask Ambrose or someone more loose-lipped than she. But Ambrose had a tendency to embellish the truth - if Evie wanted facts, she was hinging on her not leaving. "This kind of information, I won't give away for free." Not to you, anyways.

Vivienne Isole
||18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Waffle House, Lancaster, PA|Tags: Kayle|

"...I have never experienced a... 'party'," Vivienne quietly admitted. "I do not think I would enjoy it." From what she'd heard, parties were full of people doing stupid things with loud, terrible music and even more terrible dancing. She would much prefer a quiet night of reading under the stars than whatever havoc a party was sure to wreak.

A pang of envy ran through Vivienne at the mention of Kayle's parents. Growing up in foster care, she'd never really known what it was like to have a family. A real one, that was, not something that was constantly shifting and changing and being torn every which-way. She had acted out a lot, when she was younger. She never stayed with the same foster home for long. The one that had felt most like a family was with Amelia, but... that had all gone up in smoke. The burn scars on her ankle served as a constant reminder. The ones she was with the longest were Jean and Bob. It was also one of the worst homes she had been in. But that was where she had met Audra, and the only family they needed was each other. But now Audra was gone, and she was alone again. A part of her wished she'd been born into a normal family with normal parents in a normal happy house. She wasn't normal, not even by demigod standards. She didn't understand jokes or sarcasm or even basic emotions most of the time. She knew that wasn't normal, but she didn't know how to fix it. She didn't know if she wanted to fix it anymore - that desire had hinged on the need to be accepted by her peers. She had no peers now, unless you counted Kayle.

Speaking of Kayle, her tone had shifted. She was... what was that? Confusion? No, that didn't seem right. Biscuit is not a suitable name for human offspring. It must be an animal. If it is an animal being left alone, it is logical to feel concern. Concern! That's what coloured her voice. "I have no knowledge of the location in which your progenitors reside, but... perhaps we could pay this 'Biscuit' a visit if you are concerned for his well-being." She didn't know why she suggested it - she ought to be getting back to Khione sometime relatively soon. Not looking like she did at the moment, that was for certain. But the goddess would surely have her head if she wasn't back within the day. Why am I offering to waste precious time for this... this... mortal? she wondered. It could not be that I have begun to actually... care for Kayle. No, I simply wish to repay a debt. She aided me on multiple occasions during my stay here, in multiple fashions. I simply... I wish to aid her in turn. That is only logic.

Evie was expecting Kathryn to react to her taunts, not that she was setting out for a reaction, but it was usually what she got when she spoke honestly with people, and she had to admit she was a little disappointed when the dark haired girl simply brushed her comment off. Unimportant, she was there for a reason and she didn’t need to be getting distracted.

“A favour.” She repeated disbelievingly. She wasn’t the slightest bit surprised by the request, simply dumbfounded it was something Kathryn would ask for so bluntly. “I don’t know what low budget, teen movie you’re living in, but I’m not falling for that crap. A favour.” The first sign of emotion nearly showed in the form of a condescending, mirthless laugh. “As if I’d want to be in debt to you.” She knew Kathryn thought she was bluffing, but it wasn’t like she couldn’t easily get up and go ask someone else. Hell, she could go ask Chiron for all it mattered. Not that she wanted to talk to him, but her options were open. She cast a quick glance around, gaze landing on someone she knew to be a little more loose-lipped than the daughter of Hecate. “I could ask your buddy Ambrose. Bet he knows just as much as you do.” She wouldn’t put herself through that, of course. She wasn’t going to start a conversation with someone so unlikely to shut up, but Kathryn didn’t know that.

“Oh, so you’ve got some top tier information, do you?” She asked skeptically, voice tinged with sarcasm. “Whatever. I just want to know who’s died and what’s going on with the attacks. I don’t care about your gossip.” Maybe coming to Kathryn had been a mistake, the girl was proving to be more of a headache than she was worth.

The only response to Reese’s halfhearted swat was a look somewhere between annoyance and confusion. “You can barely stand on your own, do you really want to provoke me into hitting you back? Because I will.” The threat sounded real enough, and yet she didn’t. She continued forward at the painfully slow pace he had set, and resisted the urge to knock him into the snow and leave him there. She wouldn’t. She knew there was no chance she really would, but he didn’t, and she was certain her glare was as convincing as it had ever been.

She tensed when he raised his voice in excitement, playing it off with a roll of her eyes. “Sure. Whatever.” The Athena kids who could talk to weapons would probably tell a different story. She’d never really understood the point of that power. Part of her thought it was just some massive prank being played on all of them, they were just expected to be stupid enough to believe metal could talk. She didn’t speak again as they made their way along the excruciating path to the dining pavilion, but kept a watchful eye on his staggering steps. It was a relief when they finally made it, until she noticed the distance between the Hades table and the buffet, an ocean of space the dim-witted blonde was likely to drown in. “Do you want me to get you something?” she asked with a sigh. “I’m not being nice,” she clarified quickly. “I just don’t want to have to drag you off the floor again. I’ve had enough of that.”

Vittorio didn’t really understand Leo’s thoughts surrounding the circumstances of his claiming, and he didn’t try to look as if he did. Though he’d been a little too confused upon his arrival for a floating symbol above his head to have meant anything, he had wished it hadn’t required knocking somebody out in a bathroom. Maybe it was good that it had, sending a message to the others to leave him alone, to show them what he was capable of, long before any worse problems could arise. Or maybe he was setting himself up as a delinquent and a target and before he knew it, his aunt would be hearing about the things he was getting up to and somehow appear in New York to give him a beating worse than any child of Ares could. “You’re telling me they don’t throw every kid here straight into battle?” he asked, eyebrows raised. “That might be the most surprising thing yet.”

The following comment led to the release of a tiny, breathy laugh. “Yeah, little bit. Maybe it’s just because everyone here has been around this…stuff for so long that you’ve all just accepted it now, but everyone seems really certain I’m going to start getting used to it and not just lose my mind. Maybe I won’t. Maybe I’ll go the route of insanity and run off into the woods to live in a cave.” He wasn’t going to do that. He wasn’t actually sure why he’d said it, but everything was starting to get to him. Or continuing to get to him. He wasn’t really angry anymore, just confused, but he was glad that Leo at least seemed to understand that confusion. “Well, that’s good for me. I can use that. Every story needs a cynic.”

Tori shot a quick glance to the table at the other end of the room, half expecting to see real vultures descending in a mass cloud of darkness. If these people really were demigods with heavenly powers, surely some of them could shapeshift. There were no vultures though, just a seemingly endless crowd of restless teenagers, all of whom likely possessed weapons and an unhealthy level of trigger-happiness. That was actually worse. “Good luck,” he said solemnly.

Re: Camp Half-Blood: Into the Storm - Open & Accepting!

Kaden Isaac Turner | Athena | 18 | Tagging: Ava | Location: Camp, Dining Pavilion

"Yeah, I was lucky. I was claimed pretty soon after arriving. I think it took like, a month before I found out who my godly parent was. Sometimes it’s still hard to wrap my head around the fact that gods had kids with mortals, but hey, here we are!" Kade had been trying to come to terms with that one for YEARS, despite being comfortable in his own skin. "Been here five years myself, if you don’t count this one, barely fourteen when I was claimed."

Hunter Cameron Mayhem | Ares | 19 | Tagging: Rex, Press | Location: Camp, Dining Pavilion

"Good to meet you guys. I’m Hunter, from the Ares cabin," Hunter introduced himself. He glanced briefly at Press. He couldn’t blame the boy for his silence. Recently a lot had been going on, and meeting a new person wasn’t always the easiest thing. He turned his attention back to Rex. "A Zeus kid, huh? Not sure if that makes you lucky or unfortunate. I guess that depends on where you’re at. You’ve got a super famous dad!" He half joked.
