Just as she regained her ability to breathe, she doubled over with laughter again. She started coughing and ended up gasping for breath.
“Oh…my gosh!” She said between breaths,”You’re…really…PUNNY!”

Ryse chuckled some more and even let out a full laugh at Kora's pun. "I guess you could say I know some good...RIB TICKLERS!" She burst out into a fit of quiet chuckles and slowly began to wonder what started this pun chain. Didn't Kora say a skeleton pun and it went from there? Yeah, that sounded right. Ryse was still laughing, but as her amusement faded away, she made a few important, and awesome, connections.
Skeleton puns. Kora mentioned her first pun having to do with Sans. Sans...was a skeleton. So all of this was because Kora's friend, Sans, apparently made puns! "Kora! Sans makes puns, doesn't he!?" Ryse took in several deep breaths to help calm down before she continued. "He must be a pun master. I have to have a pun war sometime."

Kora laughed even harder. This was fun!! It reminded her of several pun wars she’d had with Sans. He won every one of them. Hearing Ryse’s sudden exclamation, she calmed down and chuckled.
“Yeah! He’s the pun king!,” she replied. She then heard her suggestion and laughed again, knowing that Sans would love a pun war with someone.
“He’d love that!!” She told her, “But, watch out, he’s got a lot of experience!”

Ryse noticed the blue and purple flames that flickered close to her body and quickly forced them back to the usual red and orange colors. Suddenly the words 'pun' and 'king' were tossed into the air by Kora, and she had to object. "Now now now. He may be the pun king. But I. Am the pun queen. And nobody. Nobody! Beats the queen."
Ryse could feel her forced smile and let it drop to a content expression. "And besides. Not saying I'm anywhere near Sans's skill level, but I've been punning since I was..." Ryse thought for a moment and shrugged. "I don't know, but for a long time..."

Kora laughed and thought about what she said. Ryse could be close to Sans’ skill level when it comes to puns. She grinned after figuring out how to reply.
“Well,” She stood up,”your majesty, I’m sure you could beat him any time.”
She bowed for emphasis and sat back down, pushing her bluish green and black hair out of her face and behind her ears.

Ryse smiled to herself and then at Kora after her friend sat back down from bowing. What a decent time she was having here. The only question she had was...why was lunch so long? Not that she was going to complain or even mention it. Talking to Kora was great. She'd made a friend and managed not to burn anything of significance.
Ryse pushed pas those thoughts with the smile still on her face and glanced into the cafeteria. "Thank you my loyal subject." Ryse thought deeply about this for a moment and shrugged to herself before grabbing a glass vial out of her backpack as well as scissors. "For your loyalty. I shall reward you with a never ending flame. As long as I am healthy and alive, it shall always burn." She assumed that would be forever, so there was no need to worry about it going out.
Ryse hesitated for a moment, but brought the scissors to one of her flames and cut the flame in half. It stung a great deal, but she ignored the pain and slipped the flame into the vial before handing it over to Kora. "You could also call it a sign of our friendship."

Kora took the vile with wide eyes. It was warm from the flame burning inside. She smiled giddily and turned to Ryse. “Thank you, your queenliness!”
She put the delicate object in her lap and thought for a moment. She needs to give something to Ryse, but what?
“I could conjure something with my magic…” she muttered. Kora may be mostly human, but a small portion of her SOUL wasn’t. She wasn’t sure how it got there, but a price of a monster’s SOUL was mixed in with the light blue of her SOUL. So, she could use magic to conjure corporeal images. She spread her hands and conjured a beautiful blue rose, handing it over to Ryse.
“This,” She said,”is an immortal flower. It can’t be burned nor can it die. For being an epic queen, this is your token of our friendship.”

Ryse smiled at Kora. "Your very welcome." She was going to go back to thinking, when Kora mentioned making something with magic. Could she actually do that!? Ryse wasn't aware humans had magic strong enough to do that. But then, Kora went ahead and created the most beautiful flower Ryse had even seen. She made sure to cool herself down to extreme levels just because the thought of an nonburnable flower seemed impossible to her.
When Ryse took the flower and held it in her hands, it didn't burn. Likely because of her temperature being so low. But it stayed alive, nonetheless. Slowly, Ryse rose her temperature until it was just below her usual heat, and much to her amazement, the flower didn't burn in her grasp. It was the best feeling ever.
"Th-thank you. I've never been able to touch something while at a comfortable level and not burn it." Ryse gazed at the flower with a look of undeniable awe on her face. "Wow. I didn't think it was possible."

Kora smiled. She found joy in making her new flamey friend happy. She figured no monster had really seen many humans who could use magic.
“No problem! I’m still working on my magic! You probably haven’t seen many humans who can use magic, have you?” She figured, if Ryse asked, she could explain to her the oddness of her SOUL.

Ryse gently tucked the blue rose behind her ear where it could safely remain protected by the heat of her hair. After a moment of getting over the surreal feeling she had, Ryse turned back to Kora with a newfound curiosity in her eyes. "Seen many? I haven't seen ANY." She said softly. That likely had something to do with the way she'd been raised, but Ryse kept quiet about that.
"If you don't mind me asking. How did you do that? I thought it was impossible." She said, confusion clear in her voice. Confusion wasn't the only thing Ryse felt about this. She also wondered how this could've happened. And on a less important note, if that was why humans were accepted into this high-school. For magical abilities.
