Just like Bugsy, Erin's Papilio shook off the webbing and charged. Bugsy was ready, though, and glanced at Marlyn for an attack.
"Use Bug Bite too!" His master called. The Weedle charged right at the Caterpie. The green bug bit his middle and he yelped, retaliating with a bite aimed at the neck-area.

Erin bit her lip slightly in thought as Bugsy attacked."Use string shot as you go in for a bug bite!" Erin called, watching Papilio yelp in pain as she was bitten. Reeling forwards again, Papilio sprung forward at Bugsy, mouth open wide. A silvery white web shot out of her mouth, trapping Bugsy again as Papilio continued her leap. The Caterpie buried her teeth deep into a spot at Bugsy's neck which was still exposed, despite the string shot.

Bugsy was encased in webbing once again as he bit the Caterpie. That Caterpie bit him too, in a spot at the neck that lacked webbing. Marlyn winced, wondering what to do. Weedles knew Poison Sting, but that attack would do a lot less damage than a Bug Bite. There was only a small change that Papilio would be poisoned, too. Still, getting the Caterpie poisoned would help a lot, especially since Bugsy couldn't move as well with all that webbing holding him down. He couldn't escape, let alone defend himself. The only thing he could do was attack.

"Keep using Bug Bite, Bugsy!" Marlyn called.

Erin watched the two bugs battle it out. Papilio was finding it difficult to use bug bite on Bugsy, since he was so thickly covered in webbing. Plus, the Weedle was squirming. A lot. Papilio made a sort of growling sound in frustration."Use Tackle, Papilio!" Erin called, watching closely as Papilio went in for a tackle.

Bugsy squirmed like an earthworm, making it extremely hard for Papilio to get in for an attack. Only a few spots on his body--his poison stingers, his mouth, and his neck--were left untouched by the webs. Biting the webs didn't work, so Papilio was forced to try and hit these spots; two of which would only hurt her. And, to top it off, the Weedle was trying to bite her. It was hard on both of them.

And then Erin used a change in strategy. Instead of trying to bite Bugs, Papilio tackled him. The Weedle was knocked back, rolling a few feet away like a sausage. He tried to find his footing, but he was dizzy. Crap! Marlyn thought. At least the Tackle didn't cause much damage..."Use Poison Sting!" She called. Papilio might be poisoned, and Bugsy didn't need to get his face so close.

Papilio bashed into Bugsy using Tackle, ramming into his stomach. The attack was somewhat successful, sending Bugsy hurtling away. "Uh-oh." Erin muttered as Marlyn commanded a Poison Sting. "Papilio, dodge!" she called desperately, not wanting the Caterpie to get poisoned. Too late, though, because the Poison Sting got a direct hit, and Papilio was poisoned. "Hang in there Papilio - go for another Bug Bite!"

Marlyn grinned. Papilio had been poisoned! Now they were on even ground. All they could do now is wait it out; see who fainted first. Bugsy looked pretty hurt though...He could last much longer.
"Bugsy, use String Shot on yourself!" She ordered. The brown pokemon stretched himself out and started spraying webbing all over his body, especially where there was no webbing. But, Papilio's bite still hit its mark. Bugsy yelped.

The poison had weakened Papilio's Bug Bite, much to Erin's frustration. She gritted her teeth, and clenched her fists as Bugsy covered himself in a string shot, protecting him from Papilio's attacks. "Hang in there-" Erin began, but her jaw dropped. Papilio had gone in for a continual rush of tackling and bug biting, but had paused. To Erin's surprise, the Caterpie was glowing white. She was evolving! She beamed, watching as the form of Caterpie began to shift into that of Metapod. Moments passed, and suddenly the white light disappeared. In Caterpie's place stood a Metapod. "Alright Papilio, use Harden, and then Tackle!"

After a minute, Bugsy had nearly completely covered himself with the web. Only three spots were left alone; his face, his head-spike, and his tail-spike. Then, just as he was finished, Papilio suddenly started glowing.
"Way to go Papilio!" Marlyn called. The small, green Caterpie was shifting from its form to that of a bigger, much stronger Metapod. Just as the light faded, Erin ordered it again, and it followed; first giving off a light green glow as its very skin hardened like a rock, then lunged for Bugsy again.
The Weedle didn't stand a chance. It had only a few seconds to curl up with its twin spikes pointing at the Metapod before the attack hit. The spikes were hit first, but that didn't help much. Bugsy was thrown backwards, head-over-tail, until he landed five feet away. He groaned, then fainted.

As Papilio crashed into Bugsy, the Weedle fainted, and the Metapod was victorious. Erin sprinted over to Papilio and beamed, "You are amazing," she laughed, scooping her up into her arms as she walked towards Marlyn and Bugsy. "That was so much fun!" she smiled, "You guys were brilliant!" Erin was a few feet away from Marlyn, and was about to ask if Bugsy was okay. "We have to battle again some time," she grinned, before turning her gaze to Bugsy, "Is Bugsy okay, though?"
