[My.Immortal]

Alex shook his head and flopped on the bed. "That kid looked terrified when he saw me" Alex said quietly. He set the bx on the bedside table and ran a hand through his hair before opening the box.

[Midnight Butterfly]

Xaria giggled, moving to pull up a chair so she could sit and eat too. "Poor kid... He's lucky he didn't see me." She said, smiling before looking at the food. She nibbled on her lip, feeling as if she hadn't eaten in days. Her broken, bandaged arm hung loosely at her side and her left hand picked up the plate. She sat down, placing it on the table and picked up a fork.

Zaid smiled a bit and sat on the other side of the table digging into his plate of food. He ate slowly at first until he realized his taste bus weren't working as well as they should before. This was the best thing he had eaten since his mother's chocolate cake. He smiled at the thought. Zaid dropped his fork and rubbed his shoulder lightly with his free hand and sighed staring into space.

[Midnight Butterfly]

Xaria finished soon after he did and watched him worriedly. He looked deep in thought so she didn't bother him about it. Zaid was strong. He was a spy. Of course he was fine. She tried to reassure herself but she was still really worried. She dropped her fork onto her plate with a slight sigh. She didn't even know why she was worried. At the beginning of this mission, she had hated him and now... Now she had no idea what she felt towards him. She was a lot closer to him now too. She looked at him, wondering if he liked her enough to want to save her or if it was just for the sake of the mission. Her eyes saddened slightly, deciding it was probably the latter.

Zaid snapped out of it when he hard the clatter of Xaria's fork hitting her plate. He looked at her with curious eyes and said softly "What's the matter?, Are you okay?". He looked her over and realized for the first time she was in more pain than he thought. His breath caught in his throat as he noticed how limply her arm was hanging at her side. He made an effort to smooth out his breathing. But, his face fell taking away his effort to cover him self up. "Y-You're not okay..." he said with his eyes reflecting his expression.

Xaria looked up, meeting his eyes. Her eyes were wide and glazed win tears she didn't let fall. He had figured it out but she still hoped he thought the pain swirling in her expression was only physical and not mental. Her feelings were delicate for a spy and she didn't like the idea that he didn't care about her at all. She smiled slightly to reassure him as she spoke. "I'll heal." Physically at least. She added in her mind. She put the plate on one side, sighing again.

Zaid furrowed his brow slightly at the remark but he could clearly tell she wasn't okay. Zaid had never been an emotional guy and had never had to comfort anyone. His eyes were trained on hers and he bit his lip a bit when he said "Xaria, I'm sorry". He never felt like this but being in his situation he was a total wreak. He waited a few moments for the word to soak into her brain. "I- I really am." he said quietly.

[Midnight Butterfly]

Xaria shook her head, smiling at him. "What for?" She asked, turning to face him completely. "You didn't do anything wrong..." She looked a little confused, wincing as she lifted her arm to rest it on her lap. "You saved me, remember? What's wrong with that?" She lifted her uninjured hand to place it on his shoulder reassuringly. She squeezed gently, still smiling. Her eyes still swirled with pain but hopefully he wouldn't notice the thinly veiled emotion.

Zaid cocked his head to one side slightly then looked at her hand on his shoulder. Her reassuring him. That just wasn't right. It should have been the other way around. "Xaria," he began evenly but softly "I know that you are hiding something, just tell me." Zaid begged. He blinked then studied her face for a reaction.

"I..." Xaria hesitated, biting her lip as she dropped her hand from his shoulder. She shivered slightly as a wind from the open window brushed her bare skin. She hadn't put her shirt back on after he had cleaned her up. It hurt too much to. "I'm just in a lot of pain. I'll admit it. I'm not okay... I'm so far from okay it's almost unbelievable." She sighed, dropping her gaze to her lap. "I just didn't want to tell you." She admitted, biting her lip slightly.
