Bryony slowly picked at her plate of Capitol food that she knew would not settle in her stomach. She looked over at the careers knowing she probably would be Picked off quickly with them around. She sighed at least her mother would be proud knowing she tried. She looked at the other tributes mostly at the 12 year olds. None of them would be in the arena long either. She looked down at her plate of food and without knowing it she began to cry softly, letting her tears fall onto her plate

Sapheara was stunned, she touched her tingling lips, then sat next to Bryony, she gave her a warm smile, "Its okay, we're all afraid... I watched your reaping, had I been there, I would have volunteered to save you, the way I did with my little sister." She looked at her food, "District 5 does not have food this fancy, it makes me feel sick." She laughed, glancing up at Otac, hiding her blush looked down again.

Bryony looked at sapheara " you would really do that" she said reeling a bit better . She paused then started to cry again " I won't make it I just know it " she sobbed " to survive I need stuff from the cornucopia but I must have been told so much to stay away from the blood bath" her next sentence was barely a whisper "why must we be sentenced to death, what did we ever do? " she looked back at her food then got up from the table and went to sit in a crevice in the corner of the wall by the training center and waited quietly for her mentor to come down and get her

Jerome sat at the edge of the table. He glanced over at the rest of the tributes. His eyes drifted to the girl from his district. Holly was it? He didn't know her, but his sister might have. He grabbed the rest of his lunch and sat down next to her. "You're from my district." he said, not knowing what else to say.

Ren smirked. She glanced over at Byrony. She snorted. A bit of a baby for a career. Putting on her best sympathetic face, she walked over and squatted down next to her. She put a hand on the blond girl's knee. "Everything okay?" she said in a soft voice.

Sapheara caught Otacs eyes and held his glance, her eyes sad. She stood up and threw her food away, even though her stomach was growling. She sat at the table, alone again, her heart sinking.
