Abigail froze as Kayla smiled at her. 'She knows....' she thought, 'She knows about Saleen!' She looked hastily around the room but found no one else looking at her. Only Kayla knew she snuck a fairy into the meeting. She gave a small sigh of relief and hung on to her cloak. She looked at Sasha, another demon in so many ways like her. She clung to her cloak and looked around the room.

Kayla -

Kayla just smiled at Abigail, before she turned around, got up, and walked over to the window. She left it closed, but peeked through it, smiling at the scenes below, "As you all have probably figured out by now... this forest is known as the Rose Garden. The settlement itself, well it doesn't really have a name of its own, but the building we are standing in is the House of Night. Over there is the Hospital," she pointed in each direction, "There is the Market Place, and off somewhere in that general direction is where you all were created, the 'Place'." She turned back around and leaned against the thick glass window, "I am a little different from you all... I was born here, and of two different species, Kegan here, is a vampire, turned at the age of five." She paused, "As you all know, very well, each and everyone of you were 'Changed', or turned into what you are now."

She sighed, and let this sink in, before she turned her head to Dani, "I have a gift, like many of you will soon find you have now, mine is something as simple as being able to read your mind... No I guess you wouldn't say that... Hmmmm... How should I explain... Well, here, its more like I can simply tell what you are thinking, no not word for word all the time, but its more by reading your posture, eyes, and aurora." She shrugged her shoulders, "Kegan here, he can talk to you through your mind, no matter how far away." She looked at each and everyone of them again, "I don't know specificially what you all have, but that is just some examples. It might be part of your body, like one of our shifters can shift into other people, exactly, down to the lowest pitch in their voice."

Kayla seemed to snap out of her trance, "Right sorry, I'll stop rambling." She grumbled, looking over at Kegan and glaring, "I called you all here for two reasons, one, to lay down the rules, and two, to tell you now to ask questions. Rules are simple, you live here, you treat everyone with respect, I don't care if they just ate your hound for supper.... I don't want to have to deal with two little sissys fighting about something that stupid. Report to your training on time... Kegan doesn't wait, and training is a vital part of living here. I know most of you..." Her eyes traveled to Dani and Sasha, "Or at least some, have lived in the forest for a while now, but Kegan will show you how to use the skills you have learned, and will learn, to the max. There isn't really anything strict, I just want you guys to live here as you would live in your own neighborhood..."

Kayla's eyes hardened, the friendly tone in her voice dropped, and the color of her irises began to darken, "There is only one rule I will NOT tolerate being broken... You don't leave this village to go to the 'Place' alone." She raised an eyebrow, "It is basically asking for them to hand us your head on a silver platter."

Kegan -

Kegan listened to Kayla as she rambled, and sighed, Woman, you're going to talk them to death, get to the point! He grumbled in her mind, smirking as she turned and gave him a dirty look. His eyes drifted about the room, until she got down to her one rule that would not be tolerated, being broken. He waited until she was finished, "There is one other one, but it sort of goes without saying, if you are caught spying on the House of Night or the Village, for the Creators," He paused, the tension in the room sky rocketing, "You'll die by my hands, Kayla's, or Variel's, and it won't be pretty, not matter who is chosen."

"We have set up the perfect place for you to live... as what you have become. As there isn't really any place for you outside of here, why bother. So many before you all have tried to leave, and never made it back, for they have died, either by the hands of the creators, or someone from within, simply because they were leaking information to the wrong people." Kegan's voice was hard, cold, and emotionless, just like a black sheet of ice.

Kegan saw Kayla nodding out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that her gaze was trained on Dani's ankle, and immediately saw the swelling, You want me to take her to the infirmary? He asked Kayla, knowing she knew what he meant. He waited for any kind of movement, "No," her voice was only low enough for him, "Wait, and then after I'm done, sure." She murmured, before speaking loud enough for them all, "If there are any questions, let them be spoken now. Kegan and I will try to answer as best as we can."

I stood and winced as my ankle pained me, so I leaned against the wall. "Why are we training and where? I see no point. If we're in a village then we're safe, right? And how the heck would we go to the place when we don't even know where it is?" Deep down, however, I had a feeling that if left to wander the woods alone for long enough, I would instinctively come across it.

Kayla -

Kayla starred at the girl, "You are training simply so I don't have a bunch of dead teenagers showing up at our door. There are young children around and I don't really want them to see the horrific images the Creators will so kindly give us sometimes." Her voice was grave, and scary, but not in a horror kind of way, more like because Kayla knew what these images were, for she had seen them first hand.

"Kegan randomly moves the spot... He'll let you know when and where, its not so much a 'training' as it is, he is teaching you how to use your new abilities to fight, hunt, gather, and all that fun stuff." Kayla paused, and a sad, smirk found its way onto her face, completing her now grim expression, "Sadly no... there have been times when this place has been breached. Although the Creators don't just show up at our door... there are times when they have sent... things to kill us off. For instance, if there was too big of a population, or too many weaklings, and such. It hasn't happened in a long time, because their focus it elsewhere, and obviously after giving me so many newly changed to deal with, they think our population is lacking."

Kayla's smirk became playful, "You don't ever go looking for trouble... it just comes to you." She laughed, before she looked up at Kegan and smirked, "Right Key...?" Kegan just snorted before he looked away. Kayla knew that he knew what she was referring too, but didn't push the matter. She turned back to the group, "Any other questions?"

The demon had limited himself to staring at their feet as she talked, a soft smile crossed his lips. 'My head on a silver plate' the words echoed on his mind, 'doesn't sounds as bad as it looks' his fingers once again gripped the silver cross around his neck and the lights started to flick a bit.

'I need to get out' he thought and then Kayla's previous words echoed on his mind and he remembered, she had told him that all of them were monsters in fact for those who didn't have any abilities, 'but I don't look different' he was determined to say but the words wouldn't come out, instead the lights started flickering on and off with more intensity and him himself didn't notice that.

He shook his head at the question of having questions. He had one but Kayla already made it clear no one should leave this place so there was no point on asking it.

Kayla

Both Kayla and Kegan looked up as the lights began to flicker, and their eyes wound their way over to Sasha in the corner, "Calm yourself, Sasha." She order, her voice demanding, eyes hard. If Kayla had to, she would get up and defend those in the room. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, it was a rogue newly changed that the Creators had given her to deal with. Kayla tried to be polite, but sometimes the werewolf in her got the better of her, and her temper flared.

Kegan

Kegan looked down at Kayla, and could practically see the fur on her 'hackles' rising. He smirked, imagining her as a wolf before she had even shifted. Kegan placed a hand on Kayla's shoulder, and after she stiffened for a second, she relaxed.

I looked over at Sasha with a glance that was both a bit aweful and a bit compassionate. I then turned to look at Kayla. "If no one else has questions, can I maybe get an ice pack and an Ace bandage or something? I twisted my ankle and it sort of hurts." I sighed a bit and tried to take a step forward and winced as I stepped on it. "Alright, I sprained it and it really hurts." I shifted back to my creature form so I could hobble around on 3 legs.

Abigail sighed as the others talked. She understood what Kayla said. The fairy shifter her weight but continued to sit on the back of her neck. Abigail flinched as she did. "watch it!" she said in the small creatures mind. She fairy huffed but stopped moving. Abigail turned her attention back to the seen at hand. Kayla's voice scared her but she knew it was for the best. She most likely wants to protect the others.

Sasha frowned as he heard his name and let his gaze flick up to the light, he blinked, "Ah...." he shook his head and took a deep breath managing to leave the light alone, "...sorry..." he said quietly and self hugged on his corner, he bit his lip slightly as his gaze was set on the floor before slowly looking up, "are we....done here?" he asked quietly, his voice once again barely higher then a whisper.
