The day was nice. The sun was shining pleasantly on that hot summer day. People were out and about, jogging, walking, talking, swimming. They didn't have a care in the world, too busy on focusing on tiny thing in life, such as making sure the convertible was waxed to perfection or that their Facebook status was uploaded every second.

Another scene went on in a part of the city. A district, whos name is not needed, held several tiny hobby shops and businesses. The neighborhood was perfect: low crime rates, nice inhabitants, ect.

A little store, snuggled between two bigger buildings, housed a selection of interesting books and novels of everything from Fact to fiction. When one stepped inside, the pleasant coolness of an air conditioner greeted the customers skin, along with the smell of paper and ink. The shop was known for its relaxing atmosphere, and even pleasanter keeper, Haji.

The man was putting books away, standing behind a row of shelves in the back. His crisply ironed dress shirt and slacks didn't seem to bother him in the heat as he worked. His hair was up ina ponytail, the ebony locks framing his face, but in a masculine way. He looked over his stocksheet with crystal blue eyes, lifting them only to watch as a customer and her gal pals walked in to sample the 'literature'.

A different setting took place on the other side of town. A burly man, heavily drunk from a night in the bar stumbled down the street, seeing a single woman standing on the corner. He approached her, but she backed away, wrinkling her nose at the smell of alcohol on his breath.

Such actions werent uncommon in the more seedy areas. The area was in a panic because of all the recent headliners about a serial killer in the news and paper. Parents feared for their children and people were moving away at breakneck speeds. It was a natural defense to such threat, but only if the humans knew how close to danger they were.

The very person they feared was crouched down in an abandoned building, his creepy grin visible in the dark light of the housing. He snickered, his laugh enough to make chills race down your spine. He was a wicked character, this serial killer, or formally known as Karl Fei-Ong.

The burning sun beat down against a set of shoulders and a pale neck, giving a slightly pink tint to the crisping flesh do to overexposure. A single nimble hand swiped over the hot concrete beneath the person it was attached to, a piece of dark gray chalk in her small grasp was quickly getting widdled away. Droplets of salty liquid gently dripped down the sides of her face and even went into her vision, only to be rapidly blinked away and removed.
The artist at work was completely in her zone, she would not be stopped until she was finished with her masterpiece. The itching heat that crawled over her body wasn't even enough to slow her down in the slightest, it only provided as a motivator to get the job done quicker.

After several hours of laborious work that started before the sun had even become dawn, she was finally done. A breath of relief and pride escaped two pink lips as the hunched over female stood to her full height, joints quietly popping. She wiped the sweat from her brow and stepped back a bit, fully examining her artwork that she was so avid about.
"It's perfect." The words glided out of out her mouth and rolled off her tongue in an exquisite way that only an accomplished person could provide. The awe striking humble artist looked no more than nineteen years old, so young for an aspiring, well-known street artist. Her name wasn't elegant or extravagant, she didn't go by any stage name but everyone in the area knew it well- Roxanne Lowell, or Roxy for those more closely associated with her.

.:Lynn:.

It was a beautiful day out today. The sun was shining and the sky was nearly cloudless. It was a little too hot for Lynn's taste, but she was out and about anyway. As she walked down the sidewalk with a small umbrella to prevent her from getting too much sun, many people rush by in their cars. But, she didn't know why they would be in such a hurry. The town was always a bit peaceful. There was hardly ever a cloudy day or anything. Maybe that serial killer has everyone spooked, but Lynn was confident that he or she would be captured rather quickly. With the way everyone's been reacting, it sounded more like an alien invasion would happen here in a matter of time than just some killer. Her heels clacked against the pavement as she looked around. Only a few shops were open today, and she guessed it was from all that hype that parents kept their children inside.

Lynn slipped into a book store to get out of the heat. A small group of people were in here, but she didn't pay much mind to them. She closed up her umbrella and began to look at the books on the shelves. She wasn't an avid reader, but she might as well look around. She had heard stories about the man who ran the book store, but she didn't even pay much mind to those either. Lynn was sure that most stories printed in the newspaper were just to attract everyone's attention anyway.

.:Solomon:.
Solomon currently worked in a hospital in that little town. Since he was once a medic in one of the world wars, he was pretty much the head doctor at this one. Only a few of the staff knew of his secret as a chevalier, and if any spoke of it, they were never heard from again. He was rather paranoid about his colleagues knowing about it, but it beat a rumor about him spreading, linking him to the chiroptera, even though those vile creatures have been slowly diminishing.
"Sir, you need to look at this patient," said one of the doctors there, breaking Solomon's train of thought. "He is in critical condition with his liver beginning to fail."
"I'll see what I can do." Solomon took the clipboard with the patient's information on it and started toward the room. "Surely these people know I'm no miracle worker. I can't save everyone I operate on," he mumbled under his breath, leafing quickly through the papers as he disappeared into the operating room.

Gleaming scarlet orbs hidden behind a pair of sharp looking glasses flickered up and down a computer screen, scrolling over the page and absorbing data and information from the last test that was recently run. "Hmm.. Interesting.." A feminine voice mused with quirked curiosity trickling into her voice as she quietly sipped on a cup of bold black coffee. Her lip instantly curled back to reveal a hidden pearly fang and her gaze was peeled from the glowing screen to show distaste to her drink. "Weak." She hissed, her velvety voice turning sharp and angry.
The slender woman stood to her feet, setting aside some paperwork that needed to be filled out later that afternoon. She would finish it at a latter time, her coffee needed fixing now.

"Charles McCoy." The female barked, icily staring down her ignorant assistant as she held her coffee mug. The young man jumped and quickly turned to look at the intimidating woman.
"Y-yes, Miss Stevenson?" He asked, his melted chocolate brown eyes noting that she was holding an object that could easily be turned into a weapon if he said something wrong.
"Charles, you've messed up on my coffee again... How many times have I told you that I only drink Italian roast?" The female snipped but didn't give the lad a chance to answer. "You're fired. Get out of my sight." The scientist known as Anberlin Stevenson growled, swiftly turning around and striding off to leave the gaping boy in shock and horror at what had befallen him because of a simple mistake yet apparently volatile.

"I just vant to buy some vwater and a chesburgar." A thickly accented voice growled, the person getting angry as he pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. The muscularly structured man stood before a high school dropout who was working the cash register to a fast food restaurant, which was clearly lacking a competent worker.
"Dude.. This is a food place, we don't sell chess boards, but we got cheeseburgers and fries if you want that..." The young man drawled, his mind seemed to be dancing around in some far off place.
"Dah! That is vhat I said the first time! I just vant a chesburgar!" The man growled, throwing his hands in the air. Oh how he despised the ignorant souls that worked at these sort of places.
"Dude, chill... My boss is like.. watching us and I'm trying to impress cause she's like hot and I wanna ask her out." The teen said, a lazy grin on his lips as he nodded his head in the direction of some mediocre wannabe blonde girl smacking on pink gum as she twirled a stray lock of hair around her finger. "So Señoro, would you like a drink to go with your fries?" He asked the brute though his eyes were on the clearly uninterested girl on the opposite side of the room.
"Fries? Senor? I am not asking for fries, I am asking for chesburgar!" Maksim Baikov growled before smacking his head into the counter, getting tired of dealing with loser teenagers that had little to no work ethic.
"Dude.. I wouldn't do that if I were you.. Some people said they saw rats running across those counters just this morning.." The boy informed.
"Good, if I am lucky I might actually get meal.." The Russian man grumbled into the grimy surface.

(LOL I died when I read Max's Post X3)

Haji fixed his glasses, his poor eyesight forcing him to wear the things when he read things up close. He glanced around, catching the eye of a few of the giggling girls in the corner, but didn't linger on them. Another customer had appeared. She was musing through some of the non fiction. He rolled his shoulders casually and ghosted about the room, picking up boxes to carry to certain areas so that he could unpack them later. All the while, he was checking items off his list with his blue pen.

Haji moved a strand of hair out of his face, earning another excited squeal from his apparent fan club. The male quirked a thin black brow, but the action went unnoticed by the group. If they could understand his body language, theyd get the hint that he was becoming annoyed with all their senseless chatter and obnoxious bubble popping.

When one of the girls smacked her gum for the umpteenth time, Haji stalked over to the counter, then flashed a customer service smile. "Im sorry, but my bookstore isnt a lounge." the male stated simply, getting the point across with that one simple sentence. The girls started fumbling to get out of the store, still giggling madly at the fact that the store owner had spoken to them. They didn't get sarcasm either....

Karl remained in his little hideout. He acted like some sort of creature that would get burned by the suns rays, the way he was ducking in and out of the sunlight. He sat in a corner presently, his wicked grin still plastered all over his pale face, eyes wide with some sort of never ending excitement. Karl cackled, his voice echoing off the bare walls.

As guessed, one could say that Karl wasn't completely all there. He was mildly insane... well... that was a nice way of putting it. One can't really blame him and all, immortality can really wear on a persons mind, driving them to the extremes and making them live in a never ending nightmare.

Erika sat on a desk near Karl, folding a piece of paper into a origami crane. "Karl?" she said, almost in a whisper. "Why are we here? I wanna go out and have fun." she said in almost a whine. "Can we do something fun?" she asked, blowing on the crane before it soared over and landed next to Karl, as if it could really fly.

.:Lynn:.
Lynn pulled a book off the shelf and leafed through the pages. It was well written, she might add, and the words flowed in a way that made her want to continue reading. She was interrupted from her thoughts with the snapping of gum. Lynn's face twisted in a scowl as she looked at the girls that were doing so. The squealing they did wasn't helping much at all. "So much for the quiet day I was looking forward to," she mumbled as she closed up the book and put it back on the shelf. Lynn wasn't an avid reader, so she decided to take her leave.
"Have a good day, Sir," Lynn spoke as she left the book store. She didn't know the man at all, but it was always nice to leave them with a good note such as that, especially after dealing with that obnoxious group just moments earlier. She opened up her little white umbrella again and started down the nearly empty sidewalk once more.

.:Solomon:.
Solomon came out of the emergency room, his once perfectly white suit now covered in blood. The man wasn't saved, but that was only because one of his co-workers gave him the wrong medication. "Wrong again. How do they plan on saving lives if they can't get prescriptions right?" He walked down the hallway and into another room. He always brought a second jacket and pants with him in case it got a little messy. He quickly changed into a different suit of the same color and soon started toward the entrance. "I'll be back soon," he spoke, giving them all a light smile. It almost seemed as though he could never be angered, but it was rare that he did.
Solomon's dress shoes clacked silently against the pavement as he shoved his hands into his pockets. He glanced around now and again, but there wasn't much to see in this small town. Even though he's out and about often, he doesn't dare go down the street with that little old book store. He and the store owner never got along too well, and there wasn't much of a need for more chaos.

Haji watched as his other customer left. He nodded to her polite goodbye, then looked up at the clock. The grandfather peice ticked, then chimed. Noon already? The chevalier quietly walked out from behind the counter, striding around his little store for a moment, disappearing into the back room to put and item back before coming back out. He turned off the lights, digging out a sign in one of his counter drawers to hang up on the door.

The Keepers missing. Be back later. the little sign said,. Haji found it mildly amusing, so he used it to let customers know that he was temporarily unavailable. The man opened the door, the bell above it chiming as he closed it. Keys jingled and Haji locked up his store. He was going to do a few errands while on his break, nothing out of the norm.

The heat was a bit intense, and his pale skin looked sickly in its blinding light. He shrugged, fixing the collar on his dress shirt before walking down the sidewalk, quietly putting his keys back in his right pocket. The chevalier walked onto the main street, heading for the postal office just a few blocks down.

Karl perked up, hearing his assistant mumble about wanting to go play. "Ive told you before. We only play at night." the man harshly reprimanded, not even moving his head to address the girl who was folding a piece of paper in the dark.
