"Oh AM I? What could THAT be?" Kade asked, and, naive as always, he for a moment genuinely was confused, frowning and looking down at himself. He couldn’t remember anything being missing... but then again, yay for the occasional memory gap! "Uhhh...I don’t see anything missing?" He raised an eyebrow.

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Dining Pavilion|tags: Juliet, open

Ophelia listened to Juliet, and laughed along at her ferret's name, but declined to comment about her father's crummy naming choices, or the fact that he'd opted to call her "Poppy" when she couldn't spell it in elementary school, leading to some... Unfortunate nicknames.
But she couldn't help but grin at the later comment on her artistic skill. "Not quite, though I think it should earn me some respect with the new campers." Ophelia said, neglecting the fact that she herself had been a new camper just last year. She didn't want to, but she could feel herself lowering her guard with this questionable Hermes kid. Interesting, she only has a vendetta against Mira, not Aphrodite kids...hmmmm
She quirked an eyebrow up mischeviously "Oh, but wouldn't it be better to see some new campers draw mustaches on Mr. D's face?" She asked innocently with overly exaggerated wide eyes and a soft look. She leaned in closer to peer at Juliet "I bet his yelling would petrify them worse than Medusa herself." She said in a stage whisper, eyes glittering, before pulling back and making a show of looking around for prying eyes.

Henry "Hank" David Walker|Male|Apollo|Location: Near the lake|tags: Izzy, Kade
Hank was proud of himself for landing the joke, but there seemed to be real worry on his friend's face. "You've lost an inch on me." Hank said, gently reaching out to affectionately ruffle Kade's confetti-like hair.
He brushed the thought of forgetting things away and set out to do something to bring a smile to his friend's face. "Do you wanna go see the new campers? I bet can eat more than all of them put together!" He said gleefully, eager to try.

"Huh?!?" Kade looked between them, then pouted. "Fine fine. That’s undeniable," he agreed, and the pout disappeared quickly, replaced by a grin as his hair was ruffled. "Amen, let’s go!" They had new campers this year? It’d been a while since he’d seen anyone come in, but then, Kade had kept himself QUITE occupied.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|Female|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Half-Blood Hill|Tags: Astren|

Mirabelle's heart pounded as she watched the jeep pull up outside the camp entrance. Here they come, she mentally remarked. Though it would be nice to have more people around, her earlier discomfort still lingered. She shoved it down behind a mask of friendliness, as she'd done many times before. It wasn't entirely facetious, per say... though not entirely genuine either. When she saw two figures embrace in the distance, she had to turn away. It was touching of course, but the interaction brought back memories of her father. Guilt threatened to overtake Mirabelle, but she did what she was best at - she bottled it up, dragging her thoughts away from the painful memories. Seeing other demigods with their parents was always the hardest part of summer arrivals for her. It reminded her of what she could never have. The willowy blonde forced her melancholic feelings aside with a sigh. Donning a welcoming expression, she strode forward to meet the demigod halfway.
"Hi there!" Mirabelle greeted him, doing her best to sound cheerful. "Are you new or returning?" She thought she vaguely recognised the silver-haired demigod, but couldn't quite place her finger on a name... which was a bit odd, seeing as she knew most of the returning demigods on sight. Perks of being a social butterfly. That being said, it had been quite a while since she'd seen the summer campers, and a lot could change in nine months!

|Juliet Pratten|16|Female|Hermes|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Ophelia|

"I would LOVE to see the full fury of Mr. D bearing down upon some unsuspecting newbies," Juliet laughed. "Besides, it would be nice to see someone else getting punished for once. I'm tired of being afflicted by temporary insanity." She smirked to indicate that she was joking, however Mr. D had done that to her once. For an hour. And she'd nearly burnt down the Big House. Good thing Mr. D had cured the insanity as soon as he realised how dangerous an insane daughter of Hermes could be. "Still more fun than cleaning the bathrooms, though." Juliet visibly shuddered for effect.

|Chuck Oakes|Male|Satyr|Location: Half-Blood Hill|Tags: Mirabelle (mentioned), Open|

Chuck reluctantly strode forward to greet any arriving demigods, but quickly noticed that Mirabelle was already on it. Like, thank the gods, the satyr silently prayed. He doubted he'd do a good job anyways, given how anxious he was. New people always made him nervous - even if those people weren't really new. But Chuck knew his time would come sooner or later, and he'd just end up a rambling mess as usual. He shoved the remainder of his breakfast sandwich in his mouth as an excuse not to socialise for now.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Chuck | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

Stifling his own anxiety, Karter marched up to the hill, not expecting another person to be there. The satyr, Chuck. However, he did not turn back. It was better than being in the crowded training areas. He nodded to Chuck and just stood at the top of the hill, pulling his hood up over his messy brown hair. "Hey Chuck. Wassup?" He asked, glancing at the satyr only from the corner of his blue-flecked eyes.

"Oh! Like, hi," Chuck greeted the son of Hades, quickly swallowing the remainder of his massive sandwich. "I'm like, supposed to be helping the summer campers out and stuff, but like... new people stress me out, man." The satyr chuckled nervously as he spoke, shifting on his hooves. "Like, even if they're kinda not new, but new, ya know?" He was unware that he'd mostly stopped making sense - his anxiety was definitely bubbling through to the surface. Chuck had never been good at hiding his emotions, nor really felt the need to. "What's shakin' with you?"

"I know what'cha mean," Karter agreed, putting a hand on his hip and tilting his head to the side, expressionless. "People ain't easy to deal with overall, and god forbid to be stick in a large group, eh? Up here it’s nicer than... than over THERE." He nodded towards where campers were gradually getting up and gathering. "Shakin'?!? I’m...I'm not-" he froze. "Oh wait. Nevermind. I take everythin' so LITERALLY. Not much, man. Just wanted to get away before someone came to bug me to meet people, as a kid of the Big Three, or breakfast was called and it’d get busy."

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Leaving dining pavilion|tags: Juliet (leaving), open

"Eww, there's nothing worse than cleaning bathrooms!" Ophelia exclaimed in agreement, wrinkling her nose in disgust. Even if she wouldn't claim being an Aphrodite kid, Ophelia would hold on to her distaste for griminess.
Overall, she was pretty proud of her accomplishments. While the pranks might get back to Juliet, they would have no solid proof to connect them to her.
She noticed how the grin her new, not friend, perhaps ally? Was weak at the mention of insanity and wondered at the meaning of it. Ah well, she was getting far too entangled. It was time to cut it, before Juliet threatened the loyalty in her heart for Mira.
"It was nice meeting you, Juliet, I'll see you around!" She called, waving a hand and turning away. She moved toward the Artemis cabin, knowing that the wolves would go into hiding soon until the camp settled back down, and wanting to see her friends before then.

Henry "Hank" David Walker|Male|Apollo|Location: Near the lake|tags: Kade

Hank reached for his friend's hand to drag him toward Half-Blood Hill , then paused. Is handholding something boys do? He asked himself. He'd been pretty isolated during his childhood, and while he'd often seen girls hold hands with friends, he hadn't seen many boys do it. He frowned, trying to reason out what to do, and having no solution come to him easily.
Oh well, nothing for it then. With a dramatic flourish, Hank held out his arm toward Kade. "Good sir, may I have the pleasure of escorting you?" He asked, voice dripping with sarcasm, and looking expectantly at Kade.

"Yeah, nice meeting you!" Juliet waved as Ophelia left. She finished most of what was left of her waffles, making sure to leave a small amount for her dad. I'm gonna need his favour today, with all of the pranks I've got planned. She scraped the last of the waffles into the brazier, sending up a silent prayer for Hermes' blessing. With that done, the daughter of Hermes turned to leave the dining pavilion, mischief sparkling in her hazel eyes.

Chuck bleated out a nervous laugh. "Right on," he nodded. "Like, I'm supposed to show new campers around and stuff, but..." he trailed off, glancing around. "I mean, the counselors have that under control, right?" He looked over to see a few other satyrs helping some newcomers as well. "Besides, like, most of these dudes are returning... the brand new ones tend to, like, arrive with monsters chasin' 'em down or something, you know?" Chuck scratched his neck as he talked. "It won't be such a big deal if I just blow it off..."

Kade Turner | Athena | Tagging: Hank, Izzy | Location: Camp, Lake

With a light, good-natured laugh, Kade took his companion's arm with a rather exaggerated motion. "Of course, good sir!" He returned. It was the lighthearted moments, the goofing around and joking, that Kade valued more than anything, he realized. Just the ability to be casual and joke around was a precious thing.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Chuck | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

"Why don’t we just stand 'round and when people come by, pretend to be nappin' or engaged in important conversation?" Karter suggested, MOSTLY jokingly, but...he wouldn’t mind an excuse not to talk to plenty of people he didn’t know all that well!
