Claire||The Reef Tribe||Open

Claire swam through the shallow reefs, finding a ledge to sit on. She sat neatly and breathed in air as her head bobbed to the surface. This was where she belonged, in the water, free. Claire looked to the sky, gazing at the morning clouds. She was calm, and a bit happy. Sitting here relaxed. She had better start looking for something to eat though. Claire looked down to her fin, and then submerged herself back into the water. Claire let out a sigh and started searching for breakfast.

Ekene managed to dislodge the clump of oysters, turning to head back to the tribe with it pressed against her chest. She spotted Talia swimming towards her, and smiled. She gestured to the surface, then let herself float up, her head breaking the surface. She gasped in a breath of air, beaming at Talia.

"Good morning, Talia," she said, flicking her tail occasionally to stay afloat. "I got breakfast for us. Is Constella awake?"

Talia smiled as she saw Ekene, and waved as she swam over. "Morning, Ekene!" She chirped as her head broke the surface of the water. She looked at the oysters that Ekene held when the other mermaid mentioned it, and was a bit surprised to find how hungry she felt. "Oh, that looks good!" She said, and then, "Uh, I'm not sure." Now talking about Constella. "I went for a little swim, so I didn't see if she was awake yet or not." She pushed her wet hair out of her eyes and glanced back in the direction of the tribe. "Maybe we should go and see if she is."

Elizabeth sits on a rock near some beautiful coral, as she brushes through her long, and beautiful hair with her fingers. She sighs and says to herself, "I do wonder what everyone else is doing, probably being all friendly to each other and things like that..." She grabs the sharp edge of an oyster and she makes a mark on her arm and it starts to look like a design, blood flows around her as she makes the intricate design. She smiles as she finishes the design that will only fade as it heals. It looks a bit like a vine but not too much. It looks like this. Elizabeth swims off as she looks around the reef, leaving a trail of blood.

Charlie spotted Lydia in the distance, cracking open a conch. She let out a gasp of jealousy, swimming up to her queen.

"Lydia? Where'd you get that?" she asked in a huff, hovering in front of her. She looked down at the conch hungrily. "Enjoy it...I'll find something to eat." She turned away and continued her search of the coral reef huffily. It was such a big conch, too. And she'd been looking longer than Lydia.

Soon enough, she found a bed of scallops, and her temper calmed. She swam over to Lydia. "Wanna go to the breakfast beach to crack these?" she asked. "I need air, any way. And that's where Elizabeth will go."

Ekene nodded. "Mmm, we should. I bet she's hungry." A sudden shout was audible from a few creeks over. Ekene dove instinctively, but with a jolt, she realized that the cry was familiar. Her stomach turned, and she looked over at Talia, hoping she hadn't figured it out yet.

"Just a human..." Ekene muttered, but deep in her gut, she knew it was no random mortal. It was Augustina. Rage and sorrow swelled up in her, and she immediately dove deeper, swimming quickly back towards the sheltered, shallow pool where the tribe slept.

Talia nodded when Ekene suggested that Constella may be hungry. She was about to swim away when she heard a sound off from the distance and she watched as Ekene dove into the water. The girl frowned, a bit confused, wondering if Ekene had been startled or if she was worried. "Yeah. Humans." Talia scoffed, rolling her eyes. She watched as Ekene dove into the water and then followed after the queen, surfacing once they had reached the pool. Immediately, she looked around for Constella, smiling and eager to tell her that Ekene had gotten breakfast. Especially because Talia was hungry and she wanted to eat.

Bobbie| Queen of the Cliff Tribe | Alone
Bobbie hauled herself up onto the stony beach with a small net in her hand. She kept her tail in the shallow water as she turned around to look at the Seals resting on the beach, she spoke soothingly to a pup that had wriggled over, awaiting its mother's return. She slowly turned away from the seal pup to look out over the ocean before lowering her head to open the net to count up the shellfish.

Rebekah | Loner - lives near Low Country | Alone; mentions Talia
Rebekah swam alone, it was something she had come accustomed to over time. She surfaced with a sigh, she was lonely and sometimes, admittedly she got scared. She reached down to stroke her disgustingly cracked tail before continuing on her way, singing softly to herself. She hoped Talia would be near.

Lydia heard the swish of another mermaid's tail and looked up from eating her conch to see who it was. "Ah! Charlotte. Good morning." She greeted her. "I found this over there, there might be more if you look." She added as Charlotte noticed her conch. She took a few more bites when Charlotte swam off, and when she came back she saw that she had found scallops. "Sure! I need air too." She finished off her conch and swam after Charlotte.

Elizabeth sighs and she feels like getting air for a few minutes, so she swims to the nearest beach, which is a hidden beach under a Cliffside. She pulls herself onto the shore and tans in the sunlight. By now her arm has stopped bleeding and is starting to scab up. Elizabeth keeps her tail in the water. She smiles and relaxes.

Charlie nodded at her queen, surging through the water and arriving at the beach where the tribe normally ate breakfast. She dumped her scallops onto the sand, then spotted Elizabeth and waved.

"Hey!" she called, pulling herself up so her tail was in the water, but she could still sit on the sand. "Elizabeth, good morning! Want a share of these scallops?"

She thought she saw blood on her arm, but immediately excused it as a scrap of seaweed and started to grab large chunks of coraly rock to smash the scallops open with.

Ekene looked over at Talia, relieved she didn't suspect anything. She started to sing again, an quiet, fast melody to warn Constella they were coming. As the creek got shallower, she swam slower, working her way through the cordcrass and ploughmud. She finally spotted the shallow pool where they slept, and pulled herself into a sitting position, dumping the clump of oysters onto the shore.

"Breakfast," she said to the two others, reaching for a rock to smash the oysters open.

Lydia pulled herself up halfway onto the sand, keeping her tail submerged. She smiled at Elizabeth and said,"Morning, Elizabeth, beautiful day, isn't it?" She reached for a stone to help break open the tough shell of the scallop, and soon had it open. She took a bite. "These are very good scallops! Good find, Charlotte."

The shop was quiet, and Samuel had restocked the shelves. He stood around, slightly bored, as always, and his mind began to wander. His thoughts, oddly, were drawn to his sister, who had oddly disappeared years ago. They had never found any trace of her whatsoever, which was curious. His thoughts were broken by the sight of a girl. He decided to go talk to her, so he approched her. "Hey." He said. "Nice morning, isn't it?"
