H i s t o r y :
Born in Archenland to to a woman named Carys, he was the unplanned result of a passionate trip to Calormen, where his mother had traveled as a young maid with the royal Archenland family. Colerain was raised by her until the age of five, when her masters in the servants' quarters finally ordered her to send the boy away. It was arranged for him to be sent to his father, but it wasn't until Colerain reached Calormen as a caravan tagalong that it was found that his father had already died. Raised for a couple of years by his father's surly brother, Colerain was then dumped off at the man's cousin's house, a more kindly woman who looked after him until his fourteenth birthday, when she was killed in a fishing accident. Not wanting to end up with his uncle again, Colerain took off, doing odd jobs to pay for bits of food when he could. As a thief in the streets, he was caught and conscripted by one of the feudal lords into the Calormen army as an older teenager, and there he served and even rose to an officer position. He deserted around the age of 23 or 24, after being forced to kill innocent civilians and finding out it would only be the first of multiple times. It was when he left that he stole Bandit with him, not to rile them up further (as it certainly did), but rather as he needed a good horse to get away on. And, well, it didn't hurt that he'd had a sneaking little suspicion that Bandit might be special.

H i s t o r y :
Born also to Carys the Archenlander woman, Rie's father (Carys' husband) was a leather craftsman. A trouble-making youth, he spent a year with his uncle in the country, a caravan teamster, with his mother's hopes of settling him down and giving him some sense and experience of hard work. Contrary to her plans, it was during that time that Rie found out he had an older half-brother. He went back to his parents but ran away within a year, determined to find this mysterious, dark-haired sibling of his even though he was only fifteen at the time, himself. He rides a horse named Senna.

P e r s o n a l i t y :
Impulsive, sometimes a bit selfish. Still growing up and learning about the world. Has the potential to become a decent man, but so far he's still a sullen teenager. His confidence often reaches farther than his actual skill, which sometimes gets him into trouble. Has a bay gelding he rides to travel with his brother, though it's not a talking horse. Finds Ravenbir annoying but the irritation he causes in Bandit kind of amusing. Sometimes a little bitter to his brother bossing him around and always being the leader of the group; he feels like he could do just as well but is never given the chance. Has some skills with leather-working that his father taught him, is becoming a decent rider, and sometimes sends Ravenbir off on silly errands, just to see if the creature will do them. He's a decent enough guy for his age, not unlike many of our own world and time.

P e r s o n a l i t y :
Chatty, curious and adventures, Ravenbir is a young raccoon with a tendency to get into trouble. He doesn't really ever act with discretion, has no patience, and seems unable to read when he is being obnoxious. He's very generous and loves doing little things to make other people happy. He's very clever, loves food, and adores anything shiny. He also loves to try hitching a ride with Bandit and playing games such as pouncing the horse's hooves as he walks.

H i s t o r y :
Basically somehow ended up as a slave. Was raised in captivity (captured as a colt). I see him as some sort of Friesian, maybe a FriesianXAndalusian cross.

P e r s o n a l i t y :
Prone to dry sarcasm, Bandit sometimes sees himself as an old soul. He doesn't partake in games and absolutely despises the irritating creature named Ravenbir. He tends to tolerate and endure the little beast for the most part, though he wouldn't feel particularly terrible about accidentally kicking him some day. Despite always saying he prefers to stay away from trouble and danger, he always faithfully goes with Colerain and almost seems to enjoy it. Although Narnian horses aren't typically ridden unless in times of war, he was raised as a slave in the south, always assumed to be a dumb beast, rather than a Talking Horse. Because of this, he is used to it and was stolen by Colerain and feels he owes the man his life. Much like a cranky old man, Bandit is known to be a bit cranky at times but always grudgingly agrees to go along with whatever foolhardy plans have been cooked up.

NOTE: I'm considering also offering to do either Susan or Peter, but if I do one of them I'm not sure I'd want to keep Colerain - I see Colerain and Peter as NOT getting along, and working together only grudgingly.

Yeah. I have read all of the books. Thats one thing I hated about the Caspian movie. The conflict was good but the 'love' between Caspian and Susan was just strange.

Eh, since it wasn't much, I didn't really care. It seemed more like just a suggestion, a possibility if things had been different, rather than something concrete.

As you can see, I've just about finished with my characters. Do they look okay to you? I can include a picture of Rie's horse, but it's not a Talking Beast, just a bay gelding, probably like this. Don't know its name yet.
