Finn, Dusty, and Connor - Tags: Shadow and Spray
Finn listened to his comrade's words, and nodded solemnly. "Very well... though I still say he should go back to jail after this. I'm on the fence about pitching in for him... after what he did... and... Leland." He stated. "I don't think he deserves freedom." he stated bluntly. "And well... I... would perhaps blame the pilot." he said, looking to Spray here. "But not Carew unless he shot the ship down. Still it's not... exactly the same situation. But yes... I do believe my son can be a starting point." he nodded here. "Anyway yes... first plane over the second you start pumping out Crophopper Jr. number one." he joked here, chuckling as he watched her go.
Dusty looked at the patterns she was tracing on his pontoon, rather liking it as it wasn't predictable but was pretty calming. "Yeah me neither... I wouldn't do it... I... I wouldn't." he said now. "And well we settle them someplace... teach them about our world. I mean... Shadow I doubt they have a kill program embedded in them... even if they did... their creator is dead. I think... they feel empty because Tenebris told them they had no purpose until the Malacktharians woke up... if that was all you were told and all you knew... wouldn't you feel that way too?" he asked now.
Suddenly, Connor darted up with some supplies. "Well Shadow... I don't really know what I can do about most of your missing parts... but I DID find a few spares lying around here and there that Carew was most likely using when aboard. So I can replace one or two of your parts... the rest well... I'll need to get when we get onto land... oh and well... I don't know what mother ripped out of you so... that I'm afraid will remain a mystery, unless you can provide me with a list or something." he rattled off. "So whaddya say? Want me to replace some missing parts?" he asked here. Dusty stood by Shadow's side, up against her in fact in case she started panicking as she was sometimes prone to doing when in her brother's presence, if the last time he was poking around inside her was anything to go by.

Miles halted here only briefly to glance behind him by quarter turning. "Because that's why I ended it after the first few times... it didn't appeal to me... on multiple levels." he sighed here, moving on and driving up to Doc now. An entrepreneur and explorer... yes... that's how the world had saw him... a young hero in his prime doing great things... yeah.... if only... if only that were true. It was a big lie... his entire life was a miserable lie... he wasn't a young, upstanding hero... he was a terrorist... a terrorist who killed others and deserved death... it was the only recourse... he never should've received life... but there was no way he was receiving death either... it was just... not fair.
Tears stung his eyes as he approached Doc, and opened his mouth, but no words came out. He clamped it shut and then finally managed a "Never mind... take your time with Blade... I'm gonna go break down somewhere else and hopefully die." he muttered, driving off now rapidly to find a quiet room he could do just that. Sobbing softly to himself, he entered a blackened room with a red glowing pit below him... what was this? This ship's power source? A weapon? Something else? He felt... a dark energy coming from it... malice... hate... antagonism... belligerence... it was evil down there.
Shaking a little, the Branford gazed warily down, and finally felt his engine cough and then die. Well... he was stranded now in this dark room. Alone... alone with his dark thoughts. Why? Why did everyone want him to be this hero? He just... he wasn't... he never was... he had never done anything heroic; it was all an act... a mask he wore... a mask he wished he'd never put on. Crying in the darkness, he felt he heard this pool reaching out to him... telling him to die... telling him how horrible he was... that he'd never be able to change. That no one would ever forgive him... Blinking, he looked around. Was anyone there? Or was it just his imagination? Either way... perhaps it was best... that he was trapped in this room now... he had chosen his life... and it was the worst weight pressing on him. Miles Axlerod never felt more alone than he did in this moment... not even in his school days where he was bullied and put through h***. This was... a whole 'nother level.
Blade - Tags: Harper, Doc
Blade was grateful for Harper's sudden and swift appearance. He leaned on her now, and blinked the tears away. "Yeah... I know... I hope..." he said now. "I can take heat but... I have this... intolerance for it after awhile, which is strange. When I tried to shield... Dusty... it did bad things to my skin and innards." he explained with a wince.
"Hey uh... you like... night flying?" he asked. "Cause... cause I do... I rarely stay at the base and... just go out at night and... fall asleep agh! Fall asleep..." he began again. "On some ridge somewhere overlooking the valley. I... would like to take you some night soon..." he said through gritted teeth. "Whaddya say? Oh and uh... by the way... never did get my drink from that vending machine." he gave out a clipped chuckle here, referring to their first official meeting on the roof of that building a few days ago in Rio.
