MAX

My eyes flickered to Fang, and though they couldn't see the expression on his face, they noticed his jaw clenching tightly. I placed one hand gently on his shoulder, then looked back at Nudge. "How could we have missed that?" I asked quietly, trying to keep my own voice under control. I wasn't as angry as Fang was, but I was irritated with myself as well as suddenly depressed. All this time, and we didn't know.

Fang closed his eyes as Max put her hand on his shoulder. It calmed him down a little and he took a deep breath. "I have no idea how we missed it. She had to escape all on her own...she's been alone all this time..." he said quietly, "Will you go back to the other avians with me?" he asked Max, turning to look at her. He was sure it was going to be weird, after just meeting as strangers, but he wanted to get another look at her to see if it was true or not.

I gave a half-smile and nodded, already unfurling my wings. "Of course," I answered, my eyes flickering to his. I wanted to know if it was true as well. If it was...well, it amped this whole 'saving the world' thing up a bit.

He spread his wings and took off again. His mind was strangely numb. He tried to call her face to his mind again to see if it reminded him of his own, but he couldn't quite get it right. When they finally came to the cliff again, he landed near the group, watching Chayse intently without saying a word. He could see the similarity now; the dark hair, the shape of her lips and eyes, they all looked like Fang's...just a bit more feminine.
He shook his head. He didn't want to come to any conclusions until he got a second opinion. He looked at Max to see what she thought.

Kirose looked up hearing Max and Fang land again. She narrowed her eyes, seeing Fang watching Chayse. Her eyes shifted from Chayse to Fang, and back again. "Oddly similar." She muttered, then shrugged. "THey could pass as twins." She ran her hand through her hair. Didn't they just leave....now their back. Joy. She rolled her eyes, and layed down, propping her head up with her elbows.

I noticed Fang look to me from the corner of my eye, but I kept my eyes on Chayse, taking in her full appearance and letting it stay in my mind and turning to Fang, studying his face as well---even though I knew it like the back of my hand---and comparing the two. I glanced at Chayse one more time before nodding, a small, startled smile on my lips. "Yep," I said quietly, my eyes moving to Fangs.

{{Max and Fang went to the other avians and met them, Kirose of course not being the happiest of the bunch, and then Max left with Fang, getting the feeling that something wasn't right. When they got home, Nudge showed them a paper that was right behind Fang's with Chayse's name and other information on it; they were brother and sister. So, Max and Fang went back to the others, and right now Max is helping Fang with the fact that Chayse and Fang look A LOT alike.}}

As I saw Max and Fang go out of the house after a few loud cries in Nudge's room, I stared after Max, wishing I could tell her about the avian who came here. Thinking that I should wait, I trotted to Nudge's room, confused with what made them go back out again. "What happened?" I asked, Total trotting behind me. I sat on a chair, looking at Nudge, placing Celeste on the floor next to me.
