Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|tags:Aggy/open
Jamie saw the girl smile at his praise and felt a surge of joy, which quickly faded along with his grin at the mention of his scar. He felt his face heat up and put a hand on his cheek, although the girl was already turned around and halfway across the pavilion. It looks cool? He thought, a small smile spreading across his face. She wouldn’t think so if she knew how he’d gotten it, but he guessed he was lucky she didn’t ask. Making up lies about bear attacks or knife fights hadn’t been so believable at his regular school, but around here there was no limit to the excuses he could come up with.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|tags:Aggy
August wrinkled her nose in disgust as a small figure came very close to stepping on her on their way out of the pavilion. She glared at the girl and opened her mouth to give her a sharp warning when she was caught of guard by the girls awed expression. August raised an eyebrow sceptically and let out a huff of breath that might’ve been a laugh. “Of course I do, what do I look like? A toddler?” She asked condescendingly. She was fully aware the girl was asking because she wanted to borrow the sharpening device, but she wasn’t about to hand it over that easily. She had no idea who this kid was and she wasn’t a charity service. “What do you need it for?” She tossed her knife gently in the air, turning it in a full circle before deftly catching it by the handle again. Her gaze stayed on Aggy the entire time.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Big House Porch |Tags: Ben|

Mirabelle stepped out onto the porch, shivering ever so slightly as the cold air bit through her clothing like a dagger. I should really head back to my cabin to see if I can dig out my winter coat, she mused. She was about to do just that when a familiar figure caught her attention. She could discern Ben's stocky frame leaning against the railing of the Big House's porch. He was looking at her, she realised with a start. Though the frigid weather was certainly getting to her more than she'd have liked to admit, the last thing she wanted to be was rude. Mustering a small smile, the daughter of Aphrodite walked over to join him.
"Some day," Mirabelle murmured, casting her blue-grey gaze out over the patchy ground. The lines of the prophecy ran through her mind once more. She wondered what Ben thought of all of this - apart from his earlier description of the snow creatures, the stoic son of Hephaestus had been rather quiet as usual. She turned to look at him, searching his face for any sort of clue into what he was thinking. "So," she started, doing her best to sound chipper despite the worry gnawing at her bones. "What's your take on everything that's happening?" Genuine curiosity marked her tone, despite the fact that she was trying hard to keep her teeth from chattering. She did truly want to know - though quiet, Ben had a tendency to be rather insightful. I could really use some of that insight right about now, she reflected, worrying the inside of her cheek between her teeth.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Stables|Tags: Ophelia & Poppy (both mentioned), Lu |

Juliet zipped up her coat as she tromped through the camp. She noticed with glee that the snow had actually begun to stick to the ground. Winter activities were some of her favourite things to do; it was no surprise that she was excited at the concept of being able to partake in them during the summer. Besides, she handled cold weather pretty well, unlike some people. Thinking of people who couldn't handle the cold, Juliet's mind wandered back to Mira. Man, I hope she's doing okay. The Aphrodite counselor got cold rather easily, probably given her willowy frame. A memory of the winter half a year past floated to the surface of Juliet's mind. She'd taken Mira to Brooklyn, to show her where she'd grown up, and introduce her to her mother, amongst other things. The memory was tinged with bitterness now, but that was another story. With a sigh, Juliet realised she'd reached the stables. She hadn't even noticed where her feet had been taking her. Well, the stable's as good a place to start than any, she reckoned.
Juliet slipped inside the stables, but quickly realised that she was not alone. Shoot. She'd been counting on everyone still being off to lunch. She recognised Ophelia from earlier, who was singing some song she vaguely recognised. Whatever, Juliet mentally remarked. While she was here, she might as well check to see if there were any stray Pegasus feathers lying around - she had a few schemes in mind that the large feathers would add to immensely. The easiest way to do that would be to simply ask. She had a good amount of fibs prepared in case anyone asked her why she would need them. Ophelia looked rather busy talking with a daughter of Demeter - Poppy, she recalled. She figured she wouldn't bother them, seeing as there was someone else milling about the stables as well. Her gaze alighted on an incredibly tall girl she recognised as a daughter of Zeus.
"Hey there," she called out, approaching her from behind. "Got any shed Pegasus feathers I could borrow?"

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Open|

Chuck shook some snowflakes off of his caramel-coloured locks as he continued eating. His arms were starting to get quite cold in his short-sleeved Camp Half-Blood t-shirt. Like, I should totally go to the Big House soon and see if I can scrounge up a coat or somethin', he reckoned. And maybe like, figure out what all this is about. The worst part, he noticed, was that the snow was sticking. The ground was steadily being coated in white, to Chuck's abhorrence.

(I'll post for Chuck later c:)

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Valkeri | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

"Valkeri, huh?" Karter echoed. He tilted his head to the side. "Unique name. I like it." Not the best conversationalist, for a while, the brunette just stood there in silence. Usually silence was fine. This time, tense. The air was colder, even with his hoodie on. He froze when he felt a...snowflake touch his hand? In summer? At a camp where the weather didn’t change??? "Uhhh...did I imagine the snow, orrrr...?"

Karter's blue-flecked eyes narrowed as he stared at the snow. "I’m not a year-rounder or anythin' like some of 'em, even though I probably should be, but I’m not stupid. It ain’t s'pposed to snow in summer PERIOD, and in a place where the weather's controlled? Either somethin's wrong, or someone's decided to play a really weird prank and somehow managed to alter the weather for everyone..."

    Poppy ️✿ Rye
    16, She/Her
    Demeter
    Stables
    @Ophelia
    @/Juliet/Lu
Nodding along with Ophelia's words of wisdom; action was always a good choice when having an anxiety attack. Poppy followed her friend's lead and grabbed a few flakes off the hay cart. She checked the stall waters as she went down the aisle, taking one side while her friend took the other. The chore went quickly as they worked together. "And your great - great - great grand daughter" The Demeter camper called out the finishing lines of the chorus. "Is Doing FINE!"
A dozen minutes later or so, the sounds of clip clopping hooves clattering through the stable filled the air as the girls lead the camp equines into the stalls. Poppy was feeling better having a job and being around the horses. She took a few extra moments with her favorite horse - a palomino mare named Charisma; a couple carrot pieces and muzzle kisses. "I feel better now, thanks Elia for your help and support." The rainbow haired teenager said to her friend as they passed each other in the aisle. She'd managed to remember that she had a jean jacket in her riding cubby. It didn't offer much in the way of warmth, but was better than nothing. Her dark skirt was actually perfect for keeping the chill out - along with her calf length cowboy boots.

"I need to go find an Apollo camper or maybe a Hephaestus camper - be my own personal space heater. Think Hank or Astren would go for that?" She was getting back to her joking self although she was semi-serious about snuggling up to a Sun son. She was a bit oblivious, only paying attention to Ophelia and the pegasus in the stall before her; she didn't notice the two other campers walk in.

    Ben Asher
    18, He/Him
    Hephaestus
    Big House
    @Mira
Seeing it was Mira, a small smile slipped on the corner of his lips. She was nice and kind, and a good leader. She supported her cabinmates well, and seemed to be dealing with this new quest better than the other seniors. He didn't envy being a head counselor now - especially since new campers just arrived.
"Some day," he echoed. Ben braced his forearms on the paint flaking wood, his hands intertwined; his eyes returned to their far off gaze.
Her words caught him, well her sunshiny attempt to convey that everything is all right. "I dunno." He mumbled, not great at putting sentiment into words. He took another look at her and while she was wearing an atrocious fuzzy sweater with hearts and pink, he couldn't help but notice how Mira was on the verge of convulsive shivers; shifting his stance to casually be closer to her, and let her know she could move over if she wanted.
"It shouldn't be snowing, but it's not the oddest thing to happen. Campers are resilient. Whatever happens, happens." Ben was never good at subtleties and was always better off when people came out with what they meant. He always found it was easier to deal with anything and everything when he was pounding away on a piece of hot metal. Mira was one of the few campers that he felt the most at ease around - outside of the forge at least. She was calm and level headed - even when faced with such a daunting quest ahead. She never backed down in the face of a tough battle - volunteering when she didn't have to, just so someone else wouldn't be in danger. The Aphrodite daughter some how had all the best qualities of her mother.
"What are you thinking?" His voice was low and soft, enough for just her to hear.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Outside Dining Pavilion|tags: Auggie
Aggy relaxed, calmed by the girl's easy confidence (her demeanor was not one a normal person would find relaxing, but Aggy might not have been properly socialized as a child).
She has a whetstone...
She had to draw herself back out of her thoughts when the girl spoke again. Ah, she'd have to prove herself. Shouldn't be too hard. Aggy was willing to do just about anything to get her bladed new friend back in ship-shape. "This," Aggy said, pulling the cutlass out of the gaping hole in her pants that had once been a pocket to show it off. She held it, tilting it to show off it's glory. Would've caught the light too, if it wasn't for this dratted snow. She almost frowned at thought, but caught herself and looked back toward the girl expectantly.
"Well... do I have to prove myself or something?" Aggy asked pointedly. Whatever it takes...

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Pegasus Stables |tags: Poppy, Juliet & Lu (mentioned)
Unlike her friend, Ophelia saw the newcomers almost immediately, leaving a sour taste in her mouth. If she was honest with herself, she had disliked Zeus' daughter since the day she had first seen her, something about her being taller, and being liked enough by her father be gifted two pegasi, and the blonde's entitled demeanor didn't help either. But it was the shorter blonde that was more concerning. She's up to something... and I don't want to be here for it.
Poppy's thanks barely registered. "Uh, yeah, sure, anytime." She said offhandedly as she worked the last pegasus back into it's stall, a frisky pony named Langley that took more attention than she had to give.

Once she finished, she came back out of the stall in time to hear her the rainbow-haired girl's comment, which would've froze her in her place, if it wasn't for an eager pony nose digging at her back. She recovered quickly enough, swinging the door shut and locking it, a bemused smile painting her face. "Hank has a better chance of lighting you on fire than warming you, and that's if he even has the power," She said, looping an arm through her friend's "Now, let's go see if the big house has something warm for you, I think I may need my coat after all." She said airily, hoping to gloss over Poppy's desire for hanging out with the Apollo kids, and get them both out of the barn, where Juliet had to be up to no good.

age: seventeenxxgender: femalexxcamp years: fivexxgod: poseidonxxlocation: strawberry fieldsxxtags: hank

Kenna stared blankly at Hank, whose head was very clearly up in the snowy clouds. Was he not listening? Or did he simply not care about both her attempt at reassurance and the fact that he had in fact just sliced his hand right open? However, it didn't take long for Hank's powers to kick in, for a second or two later, the skin ploddingly began to stitch itself back together. The powers the campers had never failed to impress her, even though she had been playing around with her own for a few years now. It was absolutely magical.

What was magical, yet not in a glorious way, was the snow that was floating around them. The snowflakes had begun to thicken, Kenna noticed, and it was coming down more heavily. There wasn't a lot of wind so it wasn't unbearable cold, but it was summer. Kenna was not impressed.
Kenna knew Hank wasn't behind the weather, but she still felt the tiniest pang of disappointment as he stared at her with such a look that for a millisecond, Kenna really did wish she had controlled this weather. That wasn't really in her book of spells, though. She could create a small rain cloud, but that happened unintentionally more often than not, and she still struggled to control it. This weather was beyond her, snow or no snow.

Kenna physically cringed at Hank's next suggestion. Her guess revolving around the weather and angered Gods was a bit out there, but it was better than bringing up what Hank had just done. Kenna knew about the incident. Although it had only been her first year and she didn't quite put two-and-two together for a few months later, she knew about Khione and her daughter, Vivienne. That mess was something they had all hoped would die off and resolve on its own. But maybe she was back.

"Five," she answered simply, swallowing back a retort along the lines of, "I arrived at the same time as you, you dingus." Maybe Kenna just had a better memory than Hank. She supposed that wasn't the most important thing, anyway, she just has a tendency to remember the smallest things. A sigh escaped past her nostrils, and she peered up at the sky, a slight twinkle of worry in her expression. "Perhaps Chiron or Mr. D knows a bit more about this?" she suggested, the words once again weak, but an attempt to curve from the worst possible scenario, which is what her mind often went to. "I don't want to jump to conclusions, but you might be onto something. This isn't good." She shook her head to herself. "Maybe we should find a counselor? They'd know more before we would, after all."
