Dominic drifted to the back of the group as they continued on. He stopped and turned around. He looked around at the shrubs and occasional trees. He had a funny feeling that they weren't alone. Of course his instincts weren't always reliable, but he had a feeling that whatever was out there wasn't an enemy. He crept closer to the bushes, holding his knife out, just in case.
"Hello?" he said softly. He looked behind him and hoped the group wouldn't notice he was gone. Farah would be pissed at him for wandering off, but he had to check this out.
"Anyone there?" he repeated.

(Well if you read the Current Happenings thing above the character list, you would know they're walking towards a city to help with a Lion problem across a prairie. Talk to one of the team members, or talk to Jayson who is in the city they're heading for.)

Re looked at Dominic and looked over at the trees. She too had a feeling that someone was watching them and was hiding. She bit her lip and decided it was probably a small bird. She turned to Dominic and nodded, "It may just be a bird..... Or something that wont hurt us since it doesn't seem to keen on meeting us..."

Sly could here the talking from below him, he was anticipating wether to jump and attack them, or just let them turn away. He got higher in the tree, if they happen to be looking up, they would just see leafs and branches. He sighed as the older and taller member of the group, obviously a girl from the length of her hair and her soft voice, dismissed Slyvester's noises of those of animals.

Sisi nodded as she took back the scope. Even she had the inexplicable urge to chase after retreating backs. However Dominic did have a point, it did seem to be getting ever closer in a slow lazy way that hide deadly intentions.
"Do you want me to see if I can hit it?" she said. If the rest if the team kept walking she could stay put and try and shoot the bird and then catch up. It was a risky plan and one she was not really pleased with but if it came to that she would do it willingly. Her eye flitted over to rest of the cities towers. They were so infuriatingly close and yet just far enough that they were still in a great deal of danger.
Her attention was drawn towards Re and Dominic as they had wandered a distance away from the group. "come on guys stop sight seeing." she said. For the most part she was not usually this bossy but beige out in the open like this had her on edge and she wanted to do something whether it be to run or to open fire.

Dominic was slightly unconvinced but turned back towards Re none-the-less.
"If you say so," he said, "This whole prairie is making me jumpy." He looked at Sisi,
"Yeah we're coming," he said.
Then he heard the flapping of wings and he wheeled around. He gave a surprised yell when he saw the Eagle diving towards him. He dived to the side and the Eagle's talons raked his arm. It screeched, at if annoyed that it's prey had seen it, and flew up into the sky again. Three clean cuts appeared on Dominic's skin and dark blood welled up. He held his hand to his arm and wheeled around as the Eagle circled back to make another attack.

Farah opened her mouth to tell Sisi to go ahead and shoot the thing when she heard a yell from behind. She wheeled around, eyes wide as the Eagle swooped away.
"Dammit!" she cursed.
Too slow. I'm such an idiot! she thought.

She ducked as the Eagle dived at her, catching her belt and slightly carrying her a foot of the ground. She grabbed her knife and cut it's wing, red blood dripping from it's wing on her long coat. She landed on the ground as the Eagle dropped her. It couldnt fly straight from its injured wing.

Sisi spun around as she heard the eagle shriek. Dropping her pack she reached in and pulled out the main body of the sniper rifle. Without the long barrel attached it did not get as good distance but, right now she did not need the distance. Going down on one knee so as to give her a steadier hand she raised the gun up so that she was looking across the top. Centuring her sites on the eagle she was about to fire when suddenly it grabbed Re, she could not risk hitting her team mate. The predicament however was solved when Re caught the bird in the wing with he knife. As the bird tried to fly up with it's injured wing Sisi took a few deep calming breaths. She slipped into a zone where the only sound was that of her heart beat drumming steadly in her ear. Consternating she listened for the space in-between heart beats where your hands were steadiest. Finding that place she suddenly fired a single well placed bullet tearing it to the birds shoulder.

Niko whipped his head around and spotted the eagle attacking Re and Dominic. Niko propped up his rifle and watched the Eagle that was now not flying very well leaning to the side and swerving dangerously. A shot rang out and Niko watched as the birds flight was completely wrecked as it crashed down. Niko looked through his own rifle scope and fired straight at the birds head as it lay on the ground. If the crash didn't kill it, that surely did. He ran right over to Dominic and Re. Niko examined them both, Dominic seemed to be in worst condition out of the two. "Hey guys get over here! Dominic's hurt really bad!" Niko called out.
