(( Still no muse? D= ))

Taiven Baxter || District 4

He rolled his eyes at Tally and her comment about his hair and chest. He wasn't sure what way he could actually take that. He couldn't manage to determine whether that was an insult or a compliment. Technically she had just said his hair was nice, but then said his chest was uglier. What was that supposed to mean? He was about to ask how exactly he was supposed to take that comment, but she continued on about how she like peoples eyes and how she thought they were nice. He had never thought about it much, what he like on people. Well, narrow down people to girls. He supposed he always liked their hair, long and flowing. At least, that was how he liked it and then, of course, a good figure drove him mad.

Tally didn't have much of one from what he observed. She was on the skinnier side so, that explained that. Even the girls who had more money and could afford to at didn't have very special ones. He didn't deem many of them to look at. He seen a few who had a great figure and a pretty face, but he had gone out with most of them at one point or another. Few were left to sweet talk into going out on a date with him and none of the girls he dated before had ever seemed very exceptional. He was almost always the one to break up with them. He hated it when it was the other way around, how abandoning the feeling usually was. He felt sorry for the girls he dumped if they felt that way. One cried and he was left not knowing what to do.

There was this one girl he liked and had yet to date. She was very tan skinned with dark brunette hair. It was wavy like his and had a wonderful shine to it. She was very opposite to him with large dark brown eyes, face flawless unlike his that had freckles. She was curvy to his desire and had a great smile and was considerably shorter than him, standing only around 5' 3". She was timid around most people and richer than he was, yet they were closer friends. She was his only friend of a different social class than him. She always let him talk and she loved hanging around by the coast. So, they were friends, but he'd never asked her out like he wanted to. She somehow seemed like the person who would dump him before he could bat an eyelash. She was blunt and was quick to object to something she didn't want to do. He just didn't want to go down that road. It didn't seem worth a ruined friendship.

In his own thoughts he had forgotten to say a word to Tally. He was lucky he didn't have to awkwardly start then. She was already talking about the shark incident he had. Well, at least she was forgiving. That's how girls usually were. With guys he almost needed to beat the crud out of them to prove that he wasn't a wimp. He only was when it came to sharks. He grinned a bit at what she said about it being impressive that he had wrestled it for so long. Girls said that a lot too. He could since the humor in what she said next. He had to laugh a little bit. "Don't you know it?" he asked, pausing just to flex his muscles for the humor of it. It would have been more familiar if he were in front of a mirror after taking a shower. He was always doing that just to make sure he still looked good. He was dreading the days when he got old and gross.

He shortly began to follow after Tally again and looked around the corridor that was coming to an end. "So, a fish tank will amuse you?" he asked.

(( Hehe. I didn't know what to post so I used your idea of describing a person. xD ))

(( That stinks, but I understand. Yeah. I already moved Kaia to the train because I wanted to role play her. xD You can go view the overly dramatic post that I am now embarrassed about if you want. xD I don't know what was wrong with me when I wrote it. o.O ))

Calloway Rhymore
District 9|Grain
Reaping
Unknown wrote:Sometimes they take people, and they don't say why,

And sometimes there is just nothing you can do to make the tears stop.

Calloway woke up to a glimmer of bright sunlight creeping behind his bedroom curtains. After a moment of confusion, he remembered it was the day of the reaping. The week of the reaping was the only week that Calloway got off from his harsh training with his father. He was also got out of working in the patch of wheat and barley near the storehouse. He let out a small groan, unwilling to get up and face the day. It wasn't a good day for any of the district citizens--They all knew at least two families would be mourning by nightfall.
He laid there for a moment, his mind blank. He eyes wandered around the spacious room, luxurious by most of the districts' standards. He hardly ever had a chance to enjoy the luxuries, mostly thanks to his father. He finally shook his head with a small sigh and sat up. He glanced over at his alarm clock and saw that it read 12:45 PM. He rose and dressed himself in khaki shorts and a light blue polo. He knew he was to dress up for the reaping, but these clothes would stand out in the crowd of children well enough. He slipped on his shoes and snuck out the only window in his room. He tread silently on the flat roof, until he came to the lowest point. He agilely jumped down to the grassy yard below. He went to all of this trouble to avoid his father, who would of course be buzzing about the reaping. Calloway was not in the mood to listen to any of his ramblings; No longer did any of his words seem to make sense.
He took a final glance back at his home. It was on the edge of the victors village, the one nearest to a small forest. The only forest that hadn't been destroyed for a field or factory, the trees within it were ancient. Calloway thought that half the reason it wasn't destroyed yet was because of the old vegetation's deep roots were too much a bother to dig up. None the less, it was a nice quiet place to think, for no one ever ventured inside. He turned toward the trees and tread into the forest. Making his own trail came naturally, he slipped through the underbrush quickly without making a sound. Once he finally came to a stop, he was in a small clearing. He looked up to the sky and estimated it was about time to head to the district square. He ignored that fact and sat on the ground with his legs crossed. The day was too perfect to be reaping day, but perhaps it was always that way. He closed his eyes and raised his face towards the sky. He let the sunlight seep into his skin; the friendly warmth spreading throughout his body. He stayed like that for a long while, trying to forget about the day's agenda. Despite the arguments he made against his father, even he distrusted the capitol. He knew that the odds would never be in his favor.
He let a small moan escape his lips as he slowly stood upright. He glanced back up at the sky, and knew he had better hurry. He expertly navigated the lush underbrush and quickly made his way to the small square. There was a huge crowd of children and adults closely surrounding the 'pens' that held the kids. Calloway hurried to get checked in and to his age group.
He seemed to have just made it, the peacekeepers doing the final checks on the attendance. He looked around at all the faces he knew, and couldn't help but wonder who he wouldn't ever talk to again. He met dark eyes with his own, locked there by the intense gaze until she looked away. It was the darker skinned 17 year old girl, Kia. He knew her better than most actually, but never enough to call her a close friend. They hung out often, whenever Calloway had time. He realized then that she may have been the closest person he had. Out of all the girls, please don't pick her..... he silently prayed. They didn't meet eyes again, for the announcer started speaking.
"Well, it's about time to start this year's reaping for the Hunger Games! I know that you're all excited to know who the lucky contenders will be, so I won't' keep you waiting! Calloway literally rolled his eyes.
Well we'll keep it the traditional way. Ladies first! She dramatically reached into the bowl and pretended to fumble for just the right slip of paper. Once she finally had hold of one, she raised from the bowl.
Our lucky female contender for the 73rd Hunger Games is Kia Celemine!
Calloway's whole body went rigid and he felt his mouth drop open. He hardly processed the lanky girl make her way up to the stage. He was utterly unprepared when it came time to announce the male tribute. He heard the announcer talking, but didn't process anything until he heard the name.
"....Calloway Rhymore."
He immediately closed his jaw and straightened. He was acting purely through some unconscious instinct, not totally letting the new information soak in until he stood on the stage with Kia. Another glance at her told him he wasn't imagining anything, and reality crashed into focus.
He had endured years of training for this. He was the male tribute for the 73rd Hunger Games. His name was Calloway Rhymore. And the odds were never in his favor.

(( Maybe Jenjo should just remove the persons characters since they haven't been on this role play for so long. That way someone else might join as characters for those districts, thus giving you people someone to role play with. xD I actually don't think I'd mind making a tribute for district one. Sorry, Zeroh. It's nothing personal. xD. ))
