With this commotion going on in the forest with Carina, Elizabeth watched from a tree silently. She wanted to strike at Adam, for he said he MIGHT hurt her friend, but decided not to. She looked at the tree. One thousand ants were running - crawling? - away. She looked at them. They were after a very slow snail, who Elizabeth rescued. She sat there with the snail.

She suddenly shot to the top for air. She breathed in deeply and went back under. She was back in the mud.

Jeff spun around, just seeing a quick flash of something. He blinked for a moment, trying to make sense in his head of what he had seen. I must be losing it. he thought, rubbing the top of his head. But then again...could it have been Gale. Now with a last hard look around, he dove back to the surface to let the stale air out of his lungs.

She came up below him and brushed against him. Her goggles flashed again and she pulled him under. She looked him straight in the eyes and hugged him squeezing him in a bear hug.

Jeff nearly let go of all his air as she pulled him under, but was able to just grab enough for a little bit. He smiled and returned the hug, feeling the warmth of her skin. Her gogled flashed again, knewing it had been her he had seen. Thank god. he thought, glad to see her face again.

Her mouth turned upwards in a smile slightly. She let go and shot back to the bottom. She sat down on the muddy rock and looked back up at him.

Jeff turned up towards the surface, swallowed fresh air and then swam down next to her. He clutched his hand around something in his fist. Mouthing the word "For you", he opened his hand and revealed a small gold necklace with a golden heart. Under his freckles, he was blushing.

She smiled and hugged him. Her face was beat red and she was glowing with happiness. Her eyes shined through her goggles.

Jeff blinked a few times, lost in space. Then he smiled, maybe living forever wasn't such a bad thing after all. Atleast now he had something interesting to do with his "life". He looked at Gale, she looked so happy. Maybe he was actually doing the right thing.

She put on the necklace and tugged him under the water. She took off her goggles and looked at him. She grinned and swam around.
