An awkward smile crept onto Ronnie's face. She had never met this man in her entire life. Sure it was nice to pick up compliments off the street, but she was called back from hitting him in the shoulder. Hitting him, not hitting on him. She got pretty uncomfortable at his comment, but still stayed. "Um, sure?" she replied back.

”Maybe, maybe-not” Kristal said waiting as the color slowly drained from her cheeks, nodding slightly Kristal turned and watched as Travis tested the amps. Kicking her feet Kristal looked away from the crowds of people who were swarming the store.

"Kriss, it's going to be okay." He reassured her as he checked another amp. He strummed part of Boulevard of Broken Dreams and looked at Kristal, a smile on his face. He went on to the next amp, then the next, until he had checked all of the six amps.

"Ok, that was really stupid for me to say. I'm just bored." Max sighed "But I wasn't lying though." Once again, his braveness had gotten the best of him. Which was the reason why he'd talk to a random stranger. He figured she really wanted to leave and he partially wanted to go home now.

It was their routine now, going to the beach every day now that it was Summer [It is, isn't it? If it isn't I'll change it!]. They really didn't have many people to hang out with, since they just recently bought their house in Oakland. They would go to the beach when Jayden wasn't having photo shoots and when Stacy wasn't expressing her creativity by making permanent doodles and holes in people's skin. The beach, of course, was a relaxing place to be and usually when they were there, no one else was there too. It was warmer than usual, California wise, in the late 90s. Wearing just a plain black bikini, splashing around with her brother, she had once been accused of cheating on her previous boyfriend with him, despite the fact that they were siblings.
"I wish everyday was like this, like the summer solstice," Stacy admitted as adjusted her shades. She had only been tanning for about 30 minutes but her skin was almost about the perfect tone. Then, Jayden added, "Yeah, but just not as lonely."

Ronnie nodded and relaxed herself a little bit. Okay, so this guy wasn't going to hurt her. He was just being nice and complimenting people. She just happened to be a victim someone walking by. She steadily extended her arm out for a handshake, but to the boy it must have seemed so awkward. Taking forever to reach full extension and weariness in her facial expression might not have been the best way to say "Hi I want to be your friend" but it worked well for Ronnie. She genuinely smiled, hoping the boy would accept her half apology for being so protective and weird during their first encounter.

Kristal turned to look at him and smiled humming the first few lines of Boulevard of Broken Dreams in time with Travis’s playing. Standing up Kristal walked over to Travis “You almost done?” she asked tilting her head to the side.

Travis nodded. "I just have to check the lights and then I'll be done." He walked to the edge of the stage and flipped the switch turning on all of the lights. "Well, all the lights work. Soo now I'm done." He turned off the lights, microphones and amplifiers. "It's three now, so you have a little more than two hours to do what you want too. I'll still be here."

Max shook her hand and smiled back "Nice to meet you. I'm Max." He introduced himself, dropping Ronnie's hand. "And you are?" He looked over at all of the people walking along, some were couples, others weren't. And then you had the two awkward people who decided to stop and talk in the middle of the sidewalk.
