Curare pulled out of her dive and watched with satisfaction as the ember-creature emitted a shrill screech. Thinking the opponent down, Curare then made one of the most lethal mistakes a draclet can make: letting her guard down. Before Curare could pull herself into a maneuver, a flash of orange whizzed by her. The pain registered a split second later. Curare let out a shriek of her own as a gash opened at the joint between her left arm and her body. Looking for a place to hide and potentially recuperate, Curare entered into a quick downward spiral toward some foliage.
