Ren shook her head, trying to shoo her inner turmoil away. She looked at Hiko with piercing silver eyes. "What do you mean?" she asked. She felt her blood returning to her arm, bringing only a ghost of the original pain with it. "What happened?" she asked so quietly she doubted Hiko had heard her. But then again, that guy had sharp senses, she reminded herself. She grimaced innerly, remembering the fight.

Hiko grimaced and looked away, unwilling to meet her eyes. His cat like eyes narrowed as his eyes glazed slightly, remembering the day before he had received the letter. He focused his mind, trying to remember what happened five days ago. But a solid white wall was all that came up in his head. He ground his teeth in frustration and his hands' trembled as they clenched into fists.
