-Stellar-
She left the room five minutes later than she had wanted. The Professor had kept her behind and given her a lecture on their 'amazing' school. It just made Stellar despise it even more. She had Charms, now. 'What luck,' she thought sarcastically. 'All the subjects here are so stupid!'
She reached the classroom just before it began and got stuck sitting next to the fat-kid again, as Ally had been put next to some other girl. "Hi," the kid said.
Stellar ignored him. He seemed hurt by her ignorance towards him, but didn't try to start a conversation again. Professor Quisenberry came in and looked over the students, her eyes lingering on Stellar. She looked nervous. Stellar wondered why then instantly stopped herself. Curiosity where teachers were concerned was probably not a good idea. It was their issue, and they could handle it on their own. Plus, would students really help?
"Okay, class, today we'll be learning about Wingardium Leviosa. Can anyone tell me what this spell does? Oh, yes Rodney?" She pointed to the kid who sat next to Stellar.
"The levitating charm," he said, proudly.
"Excellent! Five points to Hufflepuff! Now, we will just be testing it on feathers today, but when we all get it, we can move on to larger things! The best of you may even get to levitate your friends."
She assigned the job of handing feathers out to Ally who was all too enthusiastic about it. She slipped a feather to Stellar, along with a note. Barely pausing, Stellar read it and then stuffed it in her bag. All it was was a pathetic apology for not waiting for her. It was stupid and wasn't needed.
Stellar proceeded to take out her wand and chant 'Wingardium Leviosa' many times, over and over. She didn't succeed in her first ten tries, and it was slowly making her blood boil with rage.
-Kai-
He reached the Ancient Runes classroom with time to spare, and though he pulled out all his books and other equipment and had people to talk to, his thoughts lingered on Emily. Why hadn't he turned blue? Had the charm only worked once? Was Emily all alone in her dormitory? He knew that she got very upset over very minor things. It wasn't exactly her fault, she'd been bullied many times as a kid and just wanted to fit in. Being blue and seeing people laughing would've crushed her, and it was only the first day!
Would she even go to lunch to eat? He knew she'd not go to anymore lessons today, regardless of the results from the teachers, and she wouldn't go to the Hospital Wing because of her phobia about doctors. Even though Madame Trumble was a kind lady, Emily hated being in the weird beds with the smell of sterile chemicals all around her. Medicine also freaked her out.
Kai barely noticed the others, worrying over his little sister. Would she even manage coming out again when the charm had worn off? She'd probably be teased about it till someone did something even stupider. Which probably wouldn't take very long...
"Kai!" Professor Yeaw cut through his thoughts like a katana. "Did you hear what I just said."
Kai repeated it, word-for-word. Clearly annoyed he'd been caught out, Yeaw continued teaching. Thoughts on Emily were now banned from his head, he decided, as were other depressing thoughts.
Kai closed his eyes and allowed his mind to wander away from the castle and off into the world beyond.
-Emily-
"Idiot," she said to herself, sniffing. She had put on her glasses but they kept fogging up. Her mascara was running down her cheeks like black tears but she didn't care. She hugged the pillow she held to her body. "Stupid, baka, of course. A few years into Hogwarts made you think you were safe, but they still manage to make you look like a fool."
She hadn't talked to herself in months. The last time had been when she was trying to remember a spell, but now she was talking to herself plainly because she was lonely and upset. Her voice was fragile when she next continued, like thin glass that could break at the slightest touch. "I can never fit in, I'll always be that geek that is seen as a punching bag, something that others can have a go at and judge the results." Speaking of her previous bully-ing's gave her small flashbacks. Sitting in class and having a rugby-ball thrown at her head when the teacher looked the other way, being shoved down in a rain-storm into a muddy puddle and being sent home for being dirty, walking past a group of people and having them laugh and shout insults at her.
She hugged the pillow closer, tears piling up at the edge of her eyes. "I'll never be accepted, they hate me. I thought I found a friend in... Luca," she struggled to say his name. "And that Raven girl, but they were fake. Just like Holly."
Holly was a girl who had be-friended Emily when she was new to the school. The girl had seemed kind and sincere, but after being told a lot of embarrassing secrets, she told them to everyone and became friends with the group that always hurt Emily. She started saying the Emily had started dating guys at a very young age and had called her numerous, down-grading names from then on.
They even came after her in the holidays, when she thought she was safe. She had been swinging on a rope swing on some private property her father owned when they came along and sat opposite her on the road next to the field and pelted her with rocks. Most of the cuts and brusies had healed, but a sharper rock had left an un-treated scar behind on the back of her neck. She stretched a shaking hand back and felt along the uneven line. She closed her eyes and hugged the pillow with both arms.
"I am such a fool," she said gently.
((Poor, poor Emily... so weird considering I enjoy torturing my characters. Brings out the best emotional writing. :3
Remember, Luca can't climb up the stairs to the girl dormitories. Vice versa is possible, but guys just aren't trustworthy enough. XD I'm sorry, I really loved that bit in the books.
Also: Ahh fudge muffins... you found my ninja head-quarters... but, YES! I thought you were an Aussie! I could just tell from the posting times and so on. *fist pumps* I WAS RIGHT!
*nervous laugh* Yeah, sorry, I enjoy being right. ^-^ ))
