| Ophelia Rogers | 16 | She/her | Aphrodite/Cabin 10 | Location: Armoury| tags: Celeste, Aydan |

Ophelia caught the look of longing cross Celeste's features as she spoke about shooting. At least she's not being difficult to read. She let Aydan lead with the encouragement, then added her own. "You'll be fine, campers are used to training," and if they aren't, they'll get used to it "The Hecate cabin even made some moving targets if you're up for a challenge!" She smiled encouragingly, not that Celeste needed it. At least one of us will enjoy them, she thought, trying not to dwell on the disturbing image of a faceless target moving on it's own. Nightmare fuel! She fought back a shiver, then returned her attention to Aydan.

Aurora is nervous. Why? She thought, musing over his anxiety to get a move on. She pressed a finger along her butterfly pendant, tracing the familiar outline. "Sure!" She said brightly, swinging the door open and pulling a face when she was once again hit with a wave of cold. Never gonna get used to that. She squinted into the wind, but let her face fall back to neutral as she leaned against the door to hold it open for the others.

| Agatha "Aggy" Clemson | 15 | She/her | Unknown (Ares)/Cabin 11| Location: Stables| tags: Mira, Dahlia, Jamie, Aiden, Skylar, Karter, Teilo, Ash | mentions: Mirabelle

Aggy fought the blush that was creeping up her cheeks, making them even redder. Oh gods, I hate this. "Yes..." She said, eyes on the roan mare rather than Mira. "Thanks" She added as an afterthought, handing the leather and metal contraption off to Mira. She seemed so at ease! It unnerved Aggy. Although she was warming up to the horses, she couldn't help the jealously that swirled in her stomach at the Aphrodite camper's quiet ease with them.

You might never be great with the living, but at least you can handle a sword! The voice in her head chimed, she ran a hand over Flora's pommel and smiled. It's not the same, but it'll do. She was, thankfully, not enough of a doofus to pull it out in front the the notoriously skittish creatures, but it was hard to tell if that was more for them or herself.

| Reese Dawson | 17 | Hades/Cabin 13 | Location: Cabin 1 (King of the World) | tags: Emmie,

Reese squirmed in his seat as he tugged the carton open. As ironic as it was for a child of death himself, he really didn't like horror. But it would be rude to say so, especially with Emmie looking so excited over it... He mused, finally managing to pop the lid off, he plunged his spoon into the mint chip, then brought it to his face, closing his eyes to savor the delicacy. Sharp mint burst on his tongue, along with the crunch of frozen chocolate. Mmmmph, just as good as I remembered. He mused, before opening his eyes and realizing that he still had matters to attend to.

He held the carton out to Emmie, but made no moves to fully relinquish it. "I have not seen enough TV to be partial to a genre." He said, dipping his spoon in for another go while Law and Order blared in the background. "So how about hit me with your best shot? Go for something that will knock my socks off," He said, wriggling his eyebrows for effect before returning his spoon to his mouth. Inwardly, he was actually quite excited at the notion, especially if her distraction would allow him to nab more icecream.

| Henry "Hank" Walker | 17 | He/him | Apollo/Cabin 7 Head Counselor | Location: Cabin 7--> | tags: Caleb, Leonidas, open!

Of all the responses it congratulations could receive, getting attacked from a cold open was not one Hank had prepared for. Aren't people usually....happy about getting married? He wondered, sitting up in the snow and trying to assess the damage. The Liam kid said something, but Hank couldn't tell what it was over the buzzing in his head. It didn't sound like an apology. Is my jaw, throbbing? That means I'm having a heart attack, right? Is that what these things feel like?

He sucked in, a sickening taste in his mouth, and spat out a glob of bloody saliva. Huh, usually heals before that happens, He noted, staring at it with unfocused eyes before moving to the task at hand.He sat up, leaning on his hands for support. "Uh, so as I was saying, good luck on the wedding an' all. I'm willing to help, as long as Shaggy here doesn't pay me in bruises." He spoke airily, but ran a hand along his jawline, wincing as he realized that even with his superior healing, the spot would be bruising.

"oh, yeah. you're definitely special. i'm not gonna argue with that one," leo said, making a bit of a point of scratching his nose awkwardly. "sometimes people deserve having their head knocked off their shoulders. it's good for development of character. i've never met a good man who hasn't been bashed around a bit." neither had he met a bad man who hadn't been bashed around a bit, but that didn't pertain to the point he was trying to make, so he omitted it.

after the assault had been completed, leo erred back a bit, looking at the work he had done a tad nervously. the boy spat out a glob of blood - he was on form. that was good. that had been the general intention, blood without a loose tooth, but still. it wasn't as good with the witness present. briefly, he considered offering the same swing to caleb for daring to see such a thing, but decided against it. starting fights was probably not the best thing to be lining up on the agenda.

a good sign was that he started to speak. "do you need a hand up?" he asked, frowning a little. shaggy? maybe he needed a haircut. there were clippers in the cabin. he could do a quick job of it. "i think you might need a bit of that ambrosia. you look three sheets to the wind. sorry."
he hadn't neglected to notice caleb's little comment. it had been anticipated. perhaps it was a tad late, but anticipated nonetheless. "you know what, i've -" a step back. "i've overstayed my welcome a bit. i should probably go. sorry. again."

aydan offered her to practice during their spar, and it seemed a reasonable way to spend her time. the gun felt slick, a little bit oily in her hand, and there was a bit of her that was itching to return to her most comfortable state. if she could get a dark green cap on one of the targets, then she would have been singing to high heaven.

"if you're sure. i am not aiming to get you in trouble," she said, reflecting on the idea momentarily. moving targets did sound excellent, if she was being honest. there was much more satisfaction in destroying them. "a challenge would be nice, yes. i think i will."

she slipped the pistol back into her pocket when they made their way to the door, lifting her collar preemptively against the bitter wind. it didn't serve to shock her any less, but it was enough not to send her into fits of shivers. just a few blinks, a tense of the jaw, and she was ready to go out. "thank you," celeste said, slipping through the held open door. politeness was not yet dead, then. she wasn't quite sure how she felt about that.

||Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Stables|Tags: Dahlia, Aggy, Jamie, Aiden, Skylar, Teilo, Ash, Karter|

Mirabelle gladly accepted the bridle from Aggy, giving the younger girl a reassuring smile. "My pleasure." She shot Teilo and Ash an apologetic look before walking over to where Spicy was standing. After a quick glance over her shoulder to make sure Aggy was following, she began to put on Spicy's bridle, explaining the steps as she went. "You're going to want to hold the bridle up to the horse's nose with one hand," she began. "With your other hand, you'll move the bit against the lips, like so - be careful with your fingers as you do this next part..." As she continued to explain, she slid the bit in Spicy's mouth in one swift, graceful motion. A slight grimace shaped her features at the horse spit on her hand, but she figured she could hopefully wash up - or at least sanitise - when she was finished. She wasn't necessarily a fan of using bitted bridles herself, but Spicy seemed very used to it at least. She made fast work of putting the bridle on, describing each step as she worked.
"...and now she should be all set! You've done an excellent job with the saddle, I see." Mirabelle offered Aggy another friendly smile. "I've got to go find Ash for a bit, but I'll be sure to teach you how to mount as soon as I'm done." With that, she slipped away in search of Ash. As she searched the room, her eyes quickly found their target. He was over at one of the stalls, evidently bonding with one of the pegasi. She hesitantly approached, being sure to make a small amount of noise so not to startle him by accident.
"Sorry about the interruption," she chuckled. "To answer your former question, I have Dramamine in my bag if you want some? I prefer not to take it myself - it can make you pretty drowsy, and I'd personally like to be awake when we're undoubtedly attacked by monsters." Light humour danced in her gaze before her face fell serious again. "But if you need the front seat, please - take it. I don't want to be a bother." Sacrificing her own needs for those of others was something Mirabelle did readily and willingly. If it was a question of her comfort versus Ash's, she would choose his every time. No question about it. If worst came to worst, she would take the Dramamine and deal with the ensuing drowsiness.

||Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Cabin 3|Tags: Sa'd, Zahra --> Hu, Caspia|

Juliet nodded slowly while she listened to Sa'd and Set speak. She crossed her arms tighter over her chest as she regarded this newcomer - another adult, she noticed. And a rather alluring one at that. Sporting a tight burgundy t-shirt and a pair of black jeans, with a really awesome black leather jacket around her shoulders. Fingers covered in golden rings, a lion's head pendant dangling around their neck. Her golden eyes framed with black eyeliner. And were those combat boots? Man, Juliet wished she looked that cool. She felt dull by comparison, with her beat-up jeans and holey purple sweater. Her aviator jacket was pretty sweet, she reckoned. That ought to earn her some 'cool' points at least.
"Trading instead of taking... yeah, I can swing that." Juliet shifted on her feet. "Colourful rocks you say..." A sinister look crossed her face. A plan was starting to formulate in her brain of how to trick the gryphon, though she'd have to run it by Hu first. Oh, and Caspia, if she was the pranking type. "Yeah, sure. I'll tell ya how it goes." She waved offhandedly, though she would probably forget her agreement the moment Sa'd left.
"Anyways, good to meetcha, sad dude. And chaos guy or whatever. See you around. Or maybe not." She shrugged, her typical air of nonchalance doing its work. "And you too, I guess." The latter was directed at the adult and the weird girl following her around, though Juliet hadn't caught either's name. All in all not a big deal. She probably would've just forgotten their names anyways.

||Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Outside Dining Pavilion|Tags: Yuno|

"Like, thanks, man!" Chuck bleated, breaking into a grin. "You have like, no idea how relieving it is to hear that, you know?" He watched as Yuno jotted something down, absently chewing on his sleeve. Always organised, that one. They reminded him of Mira in that sense - though Mira tended to have a mental checklist rather than a physical one. He absently wondered if Mira's mental checklist was colour-coded and had little sticky notes all over it.
"Uh, so like, where do we even start?" Chuck shuffled his hooves in the snow. "We can totally like, get the other satyrs to help and stuff, most of them are like, trying to anyways, I think." He'd seen a few fellow satyrs out in the woods, mostly consoling dryads and attempting to offer help, though they had seemed a bit confused as to how exactly to do so.

||Zahra Al-Amin|217/Looks 32|She/They|Magician; Eye of Sekhmet|Location: Outside Cabin 3 --> Behind Cabins|Tags: Jay, Sa'd/Set|

Zahra was a bit miffed at being called a 'girl' by the chaos god - she was two hundred and seventeen years old, for crying out loud. That, and they weren't fully a woman to begin with. Sure, she had been using 'she/her' pronouns more in her head that day, but that tended to fluctuate depending on how they felt. Nonetheless, the Eye of Sekhmet led the Host of Set and their accompanying god behind a row of buildings, which Chiron had called 'cabins' earlier. Zahra thought that was rather funny - the only building that looked cabin-like in any regard to her was the one the aforementioned gryphon was seated outside. They checked back to make sure that Jay was following; she and Anubis should hear this information as well.
When they were far enough out of earshot of any demigods, Zahra stopped walking and turned to face the three. "Jay and Anubis, I believe, have already made my acquaintance, but allow me to introduce myself. I am Zahra Abubakar Nashwa Al-Amin, Magician of the Ninth Nome and current Eye of Sekhmet. I wish there were time for more formalities, but I must 'get to the point', as they say." Her tone was clear and sharp, but not unkind. Their mixed Arabic-London accent had thickened in her haste, and they hoped the three could comprehend what she was saying. "Set, Anubis - we need your help. The Duat is in chaos - almost literally, I'm afraid. You two recall the Ogdoad, though I am uncertain if your Hosts have recollection. Hosts, do either of you know of the Ogdoad? I can explain briefly if I must."
-
At Jay's admission, Zahra's face grew almost disappointed. "I see. They must not be teaching the Ogdoad cosmology in your Nome. Shame on them." She hadn't necessarily meant it in a mean nor chastising way, but it certainly came out that way. "The Ogdoad are eight gods; the first gods. They were born of the Sea of Chaos and are thought to be extensions of Isfet itself." She paused to let that sink in. "The eight are as follows. Nun and Naunet; the gods of chaos and water, Heh and Hauhet; gods of boundlessness, Kuk and Kauket; gods of darkness, and Amun and Amaunet; gods of invisibility, of air, and void. They are frog and snake gods respectively. " She watched the two teenagers' faces as she continued. "Something has greatly angered them, and caused them to awaken from their slumber. They are wreaking havoc in the Duat; tearing it completely asunder. The Sea of Chaos - it is expanding. You can see why I have been sent. We need your help. The gods need your help."

||Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Mount Marcy Caverns|Tags: Nicholas --> N/A|

Nicholas's words haunted Vivienne's mind as he made his exit, leaving her alone with her thoughts once more. 'I won't let you die in a shallow grave.' The notion was... comforting. Was that what this warm feeling was? Comfort?
In all likelihood, Mother has put him up to this. It was the only true explanation she could come up with, without considering the outlandish possibility that Nicholas might actually care about her. Preposterous. No, it was definitely her mother's doing. Either that, or he had something to gain by keeping her alive.
With the Horseman gone, Vivienne began the process of strapping on her armour. As her fingers worked at the buckles, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
Am I doing the right thing?
The thought came from nowhere, crystalising in her mind as she stared herself in the eye. Of course you are. Don't be a buffoon. She couldn't tell if that was her own voice or her mother's speaking in her head. You're doing this for Audra. It is the true course of action to take. Vengeance. Let them feel the same pain they've caused you. Her face hardened into something cold and cruel.
There was no going back now.

"No, no, I'm all good!" Hank said, scrambling to his feet. He really didn't want to be the cause of the lover's seperation, especially in the current chaos. "I'll be out of your hair. Got a dog to find anyway," He nodded to himself. Nice cover! I'm getting good at this! He told himself.

He turned on his heel and made off, not quite sure where he was going. Speaking of, where did Izzy go? He frowned, crunching aggressively through the snow as he considered his options. Cabin? No, too busy. Maybe she got hungry? He wouldn't put it past Izzy to use her cute looks to snag a free snack. Yeah, maybe. He huffed and shuffled toward the dining pavilion.
