Alex took a deep breath and turned her head to look at him. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them. She bit her lip as the voices faded again.

[Iilyda]

Ezra gave her a kind smile, folding his hands in his lap. "Would you like to play the 'similiar game'?" he asked Alex. "It doesn't require any activity; just thinking."

Alex shook her head fiercely. Thinking was usually triggered the voices. She was shaking again. "Ezra....."

[Iilyda]

Ezra could tell by the look on her face that the 'simliarity game' was not a good idea. "Alright," he said quickly, his mind working on how to occupy Alex's attentions away from her mania. "How about a story then?" he suggested.

Alex looked at him doubtfully. "Alright. We can try a story." she said quietly. She relaxed and decided to try and pay attention.

[Iilyda]

Ezra racked his brain for a story that was the safest he could think of, but he knew very little of Alex's mania and depression besides what the stat sheets had provided him with. "What kind of stories do you like?" he asked, not wanting to upset her with the wrong kind.

"I....like animals. I think." Alex told him. She started to pick at the grass next to her and sighed. "I can't remember anything." she said sadly.

[Iilyda]

Ezra nodded, searching his memory for any stories he knew of animals; God, he could think of plenty. The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, but Ezra was pretty sure Alex must have heard some reference to these fairy tales, and they were already so cliched. He sat a moment in thought, tapping his thumbs together impulsively. "Do you know how the polar bear's fur became white?" he asked Alex after a time, drawing on what little knowledge he had of Native American creation stories; the polar bear was obviously not one of them, but he remember Jennifer reading on of her colleagues stories to him about a similiar subject.

Alex shook her head. She was very nervous about this and didn't really want to do anything like this. She watched him closely and tried to keep herself calm. She sighed and laid back, looking up at the sky. She watched the clouds go by and listened for him to start telling her the story.

Ezra paused, wondering how to begin the story. "At the very Beginning, all of the animals lived together," he started, staring ahead of him at the wall surrounding St. Auron's. "The Creator grouped them altogether, but after a while, the Bears especially, began to argue amongst themselves," he said, looking over at Alex fleetingly to make sure she wasn't disturbed by the story this far.
