In-Depth
Personality: Phaedra is quick, resourceful, and observant. Her mind is her greatest asset. She's not a talkative or charming person, but if you start a conversation with her, it wouldn't get too awkward and she'll talk easily enough. She's not the most open with her thoughts and emotions, but if she feels completely stressed or frustrated, she'll have a good cry. She's very sensible and knows how to easily judge people and situations. However, she's very sympathetic, and can be easily swayed to one side or the other from pity.
Appearance: Phaedra has long, layered, sandy brown hair and hazel eyes. She usually keeps her hair in a bun or braid. She is of average build, and 5'5".
Backstory/History: Phaedra grew up in the wealthier section of her District, though she was never part of those families that was completely well off. At age 13 she was forced to start signing up for tesserae as well as one of her sisters, and by that time, her family was terrified of the annual reapings. In her free time, she'd hang out with Trey and visit her friend Alice, the mayor's daughter, and read with her in the small library. Her family was very close and stuck together.
Flaws: She can be gullible when it comes to someone or something she feels sorry for, hidden, distant, not that great at close range combat, and has a lack of charm and humor.
Strengths: Her main strengths are wit, judgement, and knowledge of the natural world.
Preferred weapons:Anything she is able to throw.
Skills & talents:She's good at throwing things and can create useful tools out of simple things.
Likes: Rain, breezes, being in open spaces, knowing her way around things, her friends, her family
Dislikes: Feeling like the Capitol's puppet, overly optimistic people, narrow mindedness, impatience,
Fears: Falling off high objects, dying alone (mostly in the arena), being too reliant on others, change
Clothing style: She usually wears comfortable clothes, a loose fitting shirt and pants, with a belt around her shirt. Most of the time she wears boots.
Strategy & tactics: Her strategy for the games is to mostly just survive as she can and keep quiet, though attack anyone who suspiciously approaches her if she must. She's not one to go looking for fights, unless she can deal with someone by trickery and finds the chance to.

On a scale of one to ten, how fast on their feet is this character?: Probably a 6, she doesn't excel at speed but she isn't bad at it either and doesn't tire too easily.
How self-confident this character is on a scale of one to ten: A 7, she knows and acknowledges the fact that she's not exactly a dim person, but she doesn't let this go to her head and she doesn't flaunt about. She's never had severe esteem issues either.
Likely or not likely to survive?: A medium chance, if she doesn't get into too many fights and keeps her head low.
Did this character have training beforehand?: None, but she has gotten vast knowledge from the Mayor's library and random exploring of the outskirts of District 5 with Trey.
What skills, if any, did this character develop while in the training centre and arena?: She learned mostly survival skills, such as building fires, tracking, and finding food. She also knows how to aim properly with arrows and knives and such, though thought close range fighting was an insignificant skill to learn.

In-Depth
Personality: Hallum is a very grounded person and is easy to get along with most of the time once you get to know her. He is a somewhat secretive and mysterious person due to his past, but can also be a fun and outgoing person. Hallum tries hard to be optimistic and open-minded, especially in very bad situations. He is a determined strong-willed person, making him independent and stubborn. That also makes Hallum have a bit of a bad temper, and can be mean when he wants too. He can be a dare-devil and likes to take a lot of risks, feeling that life is too short. But ever since his father leaving them, she's has some trust and anxiety issues that Madison is still trying to work on. But now since he has been picked in the anual reaping, he has become very sober and doesn't interact with a whole lot of people
Appearance: He is a little tall for his age at 6'1, and he has body which he keeps lean and muscular to show off to his friends. Hallum has very dark wavy brown hair that he can grow to his shoulders, and he has dark brown eyes with some little gold flecks in them. He has fair skin, but during the hot summer, he gets tan easily.
Backstory/History: Her mother is a well-known musician and her father is an author and studies animals for a living. Hallum is the second child of four children; Colton, his 19 ear old brother, Sayla, his 14 year old sister and Luka, his 11 year old brother. Despite being an upper-class citizen, he's had a rough childhood. Hallum's father left his family when he was nine, but later realized what a big mistake he has made by leaving. His mother already had a boyfriend by the time his father came back, and she found it very hard to trust him again. Her father pried his way back into their lives, and then Hallum's mother broke up with her boyfriend. Their parents remarried each other, but that whole experience has left a huge impact on the four kids. While their father was away, their mother was like a zombie- she would care for their natural needs, but was mentally far away from them. So Hallum and Colton had to help take care of their two younger siblings, especially Luka since he was only four when their father left them, but thankfully Colton was sort of old enough to help out with Luka, since he was 7. But during the time his parent's were separated, they had had to watch family members and friends suffer and die from being on the Hunger Games. So then his mother made all four kids start learning skills that were needed if they were ever picked.
Flaws: His isn't that great at long-range combat, and tends to think things through too much for his own good, which can at times leave him feeling anxious and feeling physically ill.
Strengths: Hallum is a very persuasive person, and can slyly talk his way out of situations when he doesn't feel like revealing the answer to the question, and he can also be very charming which can get him out of trouble. Also, his large size seems like it can be an issue for agility and speed, but in Hallum's case, it is surprisingly not an issue.
Preferred weapons: Sword, spear, ropes.
Skills & talents: He is a very resourceful person and he is very intelligent. Hallum can easily make-shift weapons and things that are needed.
Likes: Moderate weather, Rain (especially if it becomes and advantage for him), Being in control of situations.
Dislikes: Killing, Not being in control.
Fears: He is afraid of dying at a young age, which makes him more determined to win the Hunger Games.
Clothing style: He doesn't care. If he wasn't on public television, he'd probably go round naked.
Strategy & tactics: Make allies with the rest of the Careers and start strategizing with them. But when it comes down to his allies if they are the only ones left, he will turn against them.

She has a few close friends back at home, but Kia is no social butterfly.

She’s not sure yet, but she will need some!

In-Depth
Personality:
Kia mostly likes to keep to herself, and it is hard for her to feel accepted. Kia is very complex, and few understand her. This is one of her flaws, since she often ends up pushing people away because she believes that no one will ever truly love her for who she is. Kia is on the quiet side, but when she believes strongly about something she will not hold it back. Although she may seem weak to others, she is very strong-willed and doesn't like being told what to do. Kia's closest friend is her sister, Ashley.
Appearance:
Kia is very pretty, with long straight black hair and dark, intriguing eyes. She has medium toned skin: while it is not extremely light, it isn't very dark, either. She tans easily, but never burns. Kia has slender but strong limbs, and long, muscular legs excellent at running.
Backstory/History:
Kia doesn't get along with her family at all, for whatever reason. She has had a very rocky relationship with her parents for years, and secretly, she was almost glad to volunteer, hoping to see some of the outside world and get away from her family. She lashes out at them even when only slightly provoked, and she is only happy when she is around her friends. Kia didn't grow up poorly; in fact, her family is one of the wealthiest in the district. She has always had enough to eat, and for this reason she knows she may not stand much of a chance in the arena.
Flaws:
Kia often overreacts when things don’t go her way and when she gets upset, but later realizes that she shouldn’t have reacted the way she did. Because of this, she sometimes hurts those around her without meaning to. Kia also doesn’t forgive easily, and this can be damaging to the few relationships she has been able to make.
Strengths:
Kia sure knows how to hide. It’s been something she has always been good at, since she detests spending time with her family. She is also incredibly light on her feet.
Preferred weapons:
A bow, if she can somehow get her hands on one. However, she also knows how to use a knife and sword, although not as well.
Skills & talents:
When she was younger, Kia often had races with the other children of her district, and she developed great speed and stamina. Running is her only true strength.
Likes:
Spending time alone with her own thoughts, since Kia likes to think. She also loves to write and make music, since she has a very creative mind. She also loves animals, and has a close bond with her Irish Setter, Rosie.
Dislikes:
Loud and two-faced people. She also hates it when people lie and hide things from her. Kia does not like acting like someone she is not, so her stylist better let her be herself.
Fears:
Her biggest fear is hurting those she loves the most...
Clothing style:
Kia didn’t grow up dirt-poor like some of the others in her district, but she still likes to dress simply. Jeans and t-shirts are her favorite type of clothes, and wearing her hair down is what she loves. She most often wears slipper-like shoes.
Strategy & tactics:
Kia’s strategy will be to get her hands on weapons first, and then evade the others as best she can. She won’t be very offensive at all unless she has to.

Kia became adept with a bow and arrow, but it is unlikely that she will get her hands on one. She can also use a knife or sword, but again, it depends on whether or not she can find one.

Taiven Baxter || District 4

Emerald eyes flickered back to Tally as her tone of voice suddenly changed from so serious to bubbly. At first his face contorted into some sort of confused look as he wondered what just happened. It was like day and night. One moment they were talking the doom and gloom of the Hunger Games and the next she was as chipper as she was when she entered the room, seeming almost childlike. With a lopsided from on his face and blond eyebrows furrowed, he just stared as her as she practically skipped to the door, looking back at him. It took him a moment to process what kind of look he was giving her before he realized he was staring at her with his blunt emotion of confusion. He blinked his eyes and shook his head slightly, clearing his thoughts of her acting so queer and decided to be relieved that the serious talk they were having before was over.

His eyebrows relaxed and he settled on a pleased grin, eyes sparkling as they usually did when he was even the slightest bit happy. He hopped up from the love seat he was in and practically flew after her, shooting out of the door before he turned around to face Tally as she ruffled her hair. He noticed the frown on her face before looking to her hair again. It looked smoother than before, different than he had ever seen it. For a change it was pretty, a glossy light brown instead of a dinged one. That or he was just girl crazy. In a couple of small strides he closed most of the gap between them and, being his bold and cocky self, he didn't think she'd mind it when he took a lock of her hair. He ran his fingers through it just to feel if for himself since she seemed so upset with it. He raised his eyebrow. Smooth as silk.

His hair, when brushed, always felt pretty smooth. He felt it with his free hand for just a moment, noting no change in it compared to its usual self. He looked to Tally's hair again, still testing it. "You know, if you didn't want it to feel like that you should have used the hand soap," he joked because he thought that was what he used at the sink. Some kind of citrus smelling hand soap is what it smelled like.

(( I don't think Taiven means anything by what he's doing, but if I were Tally I'd be all like O.O. xD. ))

1) If there is no mentor/announcer/both for your district, check the posts from the other tribute to check - they might have already improvised and made one up. If not, feel free to improvise and I will add them to the front when I get time.
2) Depending on where your other character is (train, reaping, etc) you can go that far. For example, Tally and Taiven are already on the train, but Benjamin and Griffon are only heading towards the train now, while a lot of other characters are somewhere in the middle of the reaping. Check your fellow tribute's post c:

She grinned at the confused look on Taiven's face - Evie was right, of course. He thought she was odd. But that was how she liked being known; odd, unusual, herself. She continued to grin as he smiled, and laughed a little as he bounded across the room, a few paces ahead of her.

He soon closed the distance as she ruffled her hair, though. He stepped closer, closing the distance. And then he-

Touched her hair?

She let him run his fingers through a few strands, utterly surprised. In return, she reached up and ruffled his hair with a grin. "Perhaps next time I will." she laughed, then shrugged, "It's just odd, y'know? This morning I wouldn't have been able to even get near a shower, and then when I get on this train I suddenly have a billion knobs, buttons and switches at my disposal." she then added, "Your hair smells nice." in a half-joking half-matter-of-fact sort of tone.

She skipped ahead of Taiven, before turning on her heel to face him again. "I vote we go see what there is to do on this train. You're much too boring I'm afraid." she said sarcastically, "Reckon there's a fish tank? We could go fishing for, uh, goldfish."

Shelby || District Eleven

Shelby blinked at Jason, who had pulled open the chair. She hesitated before sitting down, slowly, and gazing at all of the food. There was so much food! Different dishes covered the table, and Shelby couldn't even see the cloth that was draping the table. What the heck was she supposed to eat?! How could you decide between all of this?! To make matters worse, Shelby wasn't too sure if she could just take as much food as she wanted, or if she was limited. At home, she was often limited to how much she could have. Here, she still couldn't believe that so much food lay before. She took her mind from the entrees and appetizers and looked aorund, gazing in awe at the dining hall. What fine architecture! How in the world did the Capitol afford this?
She looked at the people at her table, first at their announcer and mentor, then to Jason. he was definetly older than her, and Shelby winced at the thought of being the youngest person. Had this guy ever trained? She couldn't tell.

Jason visibly relaxed when she took the chair; even though she had hesitated, it at the least meant that she may be willing to get to know him before they were all thrown in the arena. "Your name was Shelby, right?" he began slowly, not really knowing what else to say.
Jason could tell that she was studying him closely, and he wondered how he must appear to her. Probably intimidating, since he was at least 4 or so years older than her, and although she was tall, he was at least a head taller. But whatever she may believe, inside Jason was as scared as most of the other tributes, scared of having to kill as well as dying. He hadn't even had his first girlfriend yet, not yet had a chance to live his life...and she was even younger...
Suddenly Jaosn broke eye contact; he didn't want to seem weird by staring at her like he was. Instead, while he waited for her to reply, he began to slowly load his plate with food. He tried to limit himself, but he had never seen so much food in his life, and he soon found his plate piled high with delicacies he had never known.
