Alex took his hand and stood up. She was slightly dizzy but she got over it quickly. She smiled at him and shrugged. "Depends on what game it is." she still had her knife clutched tightly in her hand.

[Iilyda]

"What games do you like to play? I'm sure there's bins of balls and jump ropes around," Ezra suggested, ignoring the knife for now as he strode to the door and opened it for Alex. He had a feeling the knife was more of a comfort and a ease of tension than an actual weapon; or at least, he hoped so.

"I don't really want to play any games." Alex forced herself to set the knife down and walked towards him. She was still hungry but wouldn't admit that.

[Iilyda]

"Alright then," Ezra said agreeably. "What would you like to do?" he asked her, leading her through the halls and down the flight of stairs onto the main grounds. He could hear the voices of other wards and their caretakers a little further off, hoping this would not effect Alex badly.

"Just be out there." Alex replied. She started to hear the voices again and stopped walking. She closed her eyes and covered her ears with her hands.

[Iilyda]

"Alex?" Ezra asked, noticing the look on her face. Her mania was most likely setting in, and if this girl heard voices like his father once used to, he found it was best to usually act as if they weren't there. He put a gentle hand on the girl's back, kneeling down beside her. "Do you still want to go outside?" he asked.

Alex nodded. She was shaking again and very scared. She lowered her hands from her ears and opened her eyes to look at him. She didn't really want to talk anymore and was deep in her depression again.

[Iilyda]

Ezra smiled kindly and stood up, his hand still on her back as he gently guided her out onto the lawn, breathing in deeply the free air.

Alex looked up at the blue sky. She sat down on the grass and buried her face in her hands. She wanted to feel needed!

Ezra sat down next to her, "criss-cross applesauce". He glanced up into the cloudless sky, giving Alex the room she needed to get her bearings, knowing well enough not to over-crowd her.
