((So, we've arrived at Starlight for the first school day, we had French class and now we're in PE class, which is at a large field - the 'gym'. The coach is organizing duels so he can see our strengths and weaknesses. Ren's fighting against Hiko, the other students are watching. You can either be there from the start or be late for class. ^^))

She succeeded. The blow landed squarely into his diaphragm and his breathed whooshed out. In the split second her hand made contact though, his knee went upward into the crook of her tensed elbow, kicking it so that it bent the wrong way. Then, before he even realized what he was doing, his form blurred and disappeared, only to reappear behind her, his hand at her throat and his eyes blank and emotionless. His chest was moving back and forth, but you could hardly tell if he was out of breath or not. He coughed and spit some blood onto the ground. She had hit hard and probably had bruised some muscles or organs in his chest. But he was more worried that he had broken her arm. His fingers were talons at her throat and barely touching her, but his other hand was at the small of her back, preparing to land a deadly blow to her spine that would cause her to become immobile. It was over. He coughed again and another glob of blood joined the first. But instead of declaring it over, he held his position and moved not a muscle. He didn't know her well enough to turn his back on her.

Ren's eyes widened in pain, but she did not cry out. She never did. She kept her jaw firmly clenched, biting back the scream, to prevent her dignity from further damage. She stood still, feeling her limp arm fall down as it lost momentum and she did not even fight off Hiko's fingers like claws at her throat. She could tell when a fight was over. But she was shocked to be on the losing end. It was the first time. It hit her like a splash of water. She had always been so self-assured, relying so much in her battle skills. Now all that was crumbling down, and for one moment her stormy-grey eyes with no pupil reflected her inner turmoil, the fears and doubt. But then a door seemed to be loced between her soul and the rest of the world, and she furrowed her brows and looked firmly into the distance. She drew in a breath. "It's over." she muttered. Her voice was the same as ever, not shaky of feeble. Not even the piercing pain flaring at her right elbow could make her wince.
The coach's expression was mildly impressed. But inside, she was shocked as well. He had never ever seen Ren lose a fight so easily. In fact, he couldn't recall a fight she hadn't won, except during her first days there at Starlight. But he looked disapprovingly at them, his eyes surveying their faces. "I said no hurting each other." he stressed the words. "Ren, you hit Hiko pretty hard, that's gotta hurt, a lot. And Hiko, I'm pretty sure Ren's elbow is bent the other way. Both of you to the infirmary. I'll make sure the Headmaster will know about this and your guardians will be informed." he marked a note on their student files. Ren growled under her breath. First day of the new school year and already a participation to the Headmaster! "Now go." Coach Smith's voice was stern and dull. But suddenly, in a surprising change, he said emotionlessly, "By the way, that was a great display of combat skills. Both of you. Who's coming next?"

Slowly, Hiko drew away from Ren. His face was blank and hidden in shadows, hiding his eyes. They were filled with not just guilt, but also with pain. Mental pain. A memory of something from long ago had waltzed in and slapped him across the face. He had always lost. But only ever to one person. Winning now seemed wrong. He took a step forward and stumbled, swaying. Then he turned and retched. He grimaced and wiped the back of his mouth, noting the blood in that was smeared across the beck of his hand. He stood back up and stumbled inside, where he leaned back against the wall and took one last look at the forest. He froze. A pair of cat like eyes with silver iris's stared back at him, pride and joy deep inside them. He stared in shock. In his eyes, several different emotions registered. Pain, shock, sorrow, joy, and anger. pain being the strongest of all. Then the eyes disappeared and he was once again lost in that black loneliness that threatened to consume him everyday.

Ren stepped forward, towards the exit, but stopped when she saw Hiko suddenly freezing. She glared at him. "Come on" she called. "What's going on? We need to get some treatment." she turned, trying to forget how wrong it felt not waiting for him. And she was surprised - almost disgusted - by that feeling. He had hurt her and won the fight, and now she was worried on wether he got treatment or not. Sheesh. She shook her head and kept walking, moving into the school corridors and disappearing from the other's sight. She raised her good arm to the base of her white ponytail, lacing her fingers between the long strands of hair and pulling down the elastic that had kept it in place. He hair fell freely over her shoulders, and she huffed in annoyance with herself, the world, and especially the Wildcat - as she had heard other students calling him during their combat. Her expression looked quite close to that of a sulking kid.

Hiko hurried after her, his face eerily pale. "Ren.... Ren please...." He whispered in a hoarse voice. "Hows your arm?" He asked, his voice raspy. He could deal with the kick to his diaphragm. He had had to deal with much worse before. He was worried about her, although he was shocked to admit it. He slowed down and his voice became quieter, almost un-hearable. "Forgive me...." He whispered.

((Is there anyone else RPing, besides me and Wolf-chan? :c ))
Ren halted, her left hand balling into a fist, but it soon loosened as she realized she didn't have any strength left to spare for that kind of foolishness. She was so bloody tired she just anted to fall on her knees and collapse on the spot. Of course, she didn't. Her expression was dull and firmly set, and her back wasn't curved under the weight of her drained muscles. "Why the hell should I?" she asked, not turning around. She gritted her teeth. And why on earth did she want to forgive him? Why did she feel like she was being very rude? And most of all, since when had she started to care about her manners?
She sucked in a breath, trying to cool off, but it was quite difficult, especially having a broken arm. "My arm could be better." she replied to his first question in a cold voice, which contrasted highly against her first statement. "But the nurse has a vast Healing Gift, so it should be okay in less than twenty minutes, if you come with me to the infirmary. No way I'm letting you go away without proper treatment." Her voice now was much closer to her normal tone, and she resumed her walk.

His expression hardened and he followed her. His footsteps made no sound. At all. His eyes were blank cold spheres. Why do I even try? It'll be the same. Always the same... He thought bitterly. he remembered those silver eyes. Where are you, Ameko? He thought longingly. She was the only one who had ever truly accepted him. Not because of his skill, or grace, but because she had known how he had felt. How he had been isolated. It was only right, that his twin, understood that. She had felt that isolation too. All because of their families heritage. If this school found out what his ancestors, what he had done, they would boot him out without a thought. His eyes bored into Ren's back and suddenly, he wondered if she had ever truly killed someone. Someone she loved. His eyes became even narrower. The dreaded fate the of the Gin-me clan. The Silver eyed freaks.
