Aiden couldn't help but grow more excited the more Jamie went on. He promised to let Aiden try the best burger and fries that he could find, and before he knew it, that was the only thing Aiden was looking forward to. Forget the quest was right; his mind began to wander... What place would have the best burgers? Was it a fast food place, or did Jamie know somewhere better? How much would it cost? Already, Aiden felt his stomach beginning to rumble. "You know what I miss most about Canada? Tim Hortons." "You're Canadian?" It came as a shock. He never knew Jamie was originally from Canada. Then again, he never thought to ask. "Tim Horton's isn't real, you've gotta be pulling my leg." Aiden squinted, unsure if the other camper was trying to be funny.
"Alright, you miserable brats, settle down already!"
The shout from Mr. D caused Aiden to uncharacteristically jump. "I guess that's our call," the head counselor murmured, all his prior thoughts dissipating along with his faux hunger. With growing apprehension, he made his way over to the Dionysus table, sitting almost meekly under the resident wine god's gaze. They didn't have to wait long, as many of the other campers were swift to heed his instructions. Aiden nodded to both Mira and Aydan when they arrived, wrinkling his nose slightly at the latter. What's that idiot thinking, coming on a quest like this? He can hardly defend himself. He noticed as well that the unclaimed camper didn't have any bags with him; he was just there to provide information. He's been having dreams then... His line of thought led him to the topic of Teilo, the camper he'd connected so well with during their first interactions. He hadn't spotted him at the meeting yet, but when he did, Aiden would be sure to ask him to reconsider going. Fighting a venti was one thing, but a goddess? He felt guilty for convincing Teilo he needed to go, and if he could, he'd urge the other camper to stay behind.
He spotted Hank and Lucy from the corner of his eye, and the head counselor shifted to use Jamie as a shield. He prayed that she wouldn't see him, and from the looks of it, she hadn't. He breathed a quiet sigh; the last thing he needed right now was to have to pry the daughter of Apollo off him after 3/4ths of a year. Lucy had enough respect for Mr. D and Chiron not to cause too much trouble, so once the centaur arrived the meeting started without a hitch. "Greetings all," the words that followed almost blurred together as Aiden pieced the thoughts together like a jigsaw puzzle about minimalistic cats. As Aiden suspected, Chiron didn't know implicitly that Vivienne was involved, but there was a high likelihood she was. He stayed quiet for now, listening to all offers of information before he'd speak his own thoughts.──── Lucy Blitzen

❝𝚒 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚔 𝚘𝚏 𝚖𝚢𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚏 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚜 𝚊𝚗 𝚘𝚞𝚝𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚎𝚛❞
Lucy was beginning to go more in-depth about her year away from Camp Half-Blood, but the sound of Mr. D's voice cut into her chattering. She made a face at being interrupted so rudely, but the quest group being called together in the same breath was music to her ears. "Ah!" She exclaimed, jumping up almost a little too excitedly. "It's about time they got this started, this secret's been burning a hole in my ears." Truthfully, Lucy just wanted to hear Chiron and Dionysus both say that her speculations were correct. It's just Hades, isn't it? Who else would it be, besides maybe Ares? Nyx was a thought, but they did specify a "he" when she asked. "Well come on, Hank. Time to be the big bad counselor and tell everyone to stay home. We don't..." She trailed off, her eyes starting to burn again. We don't want anyone else to die. Lucy didn't want to admit that to herself. Some part of her insisted she wasn't ready to start caring about these little pawns, but that didn't make it hurt any less. With an audible sniffle, she punctuated the unfinished thought, taking Hank by the arm so she wouldn't have to join the others alone.
As she guessed earlier, Mirabelle was going on the quest. She refrained from casting a harsh look in the Aphrodite head counselor's direction, instead dabbing her eyes to avoid smearing her makeup further. Gods, I must look horrendous. Inwardly, she sighed. Lucy settled herself on the bench across from Mira, seeing a couple of other faces she recognized. Jamie, a delightful little boy from the Iris cabin, and Aiden, the oh so precious child of Athena she loved to fawn over. Is he going? The thought was baffling; since when did Aiden go on quests? Sure enough, she spotted a duffle bag on the ground next to his feet, bulging with a variety of belongings stashed within. Jamie had a bag with him as well. Lucy felt her heart sag at the sight, but the daughter of Apollo composed herself. Now wasn't the time to be getting mushy.
Chiron greeted everyone present, standing tall next to Mr. D at the head of the picnic table. She listened intently to everything the centaur had to say, pursing her lips as he mentioned a daughter of Khione. She couldn't say she remembered the girl Chiron spoke of, nor did she care to honestly. But the prophecy was certainly something to marvel at, and the final line resonated with her the most: Hero’s choice to thaw or raze. Khione's been plotting this for years, why would she thaw for just a couple demigods? A couple other lines in the prophecy felt rather unclear as well, so Lucy could only theorize that there would be more to this quest than met the eye. Don't overanalyze it. She insisted, unwisely.
"Now, would anybody like to begin? If you are not attending the quest but have valuable information to share, you may leave after you have said your piece." Lucy was the first to speak up when given the opportunity. She ahemed politely and stood. "I would, Chiron." She offered, gazing around the group. "I have some very important news I would like to share that will certainly help those participating." a slight smile. "The Grey Sisters' had a few choice words to say about the snow, as well as the gods involved." She briefly cleared her throat, warming her vocal cords to recite the conversation she and Will had had with the trio of witches.
"Just because one of the gods decided to start making a fuss does not mean I'll give up my driving privileges! Come rain, snow, or shine, I'll be driving!"
"The gods're the reason it's snowin' up 'ere?"
"Who's upset? And why?"
Lucy mimicked the voice of everyone participating with chilling perfection, including the collective cackles of the Grey Sisters.
"Khione!"
"Goddess of ice and snow."
"If you didn't already know, that is."
"They're demigods! Of course, they know who Khione is, Anger."
"But why is she making it snow here?"
"Who knows, ugh!"
"Summer isn't meant for this kind of weather."
"She's been brooding on that blasted peak for years, now."
"That should be enough snow for her chilly blood."
Lucy paused to take a breath, skipping to the other notable half of the conversation.
"Tell us what you know. Nice and simple."
"What is there to know?"
"It's snowing."
"In the summertime, of course."
"Not your usual summer weather."
"Khione's been plotting this."
"Brooding for years."
"What's she plotting?"
"Something big."
"Something vile."
"She's got a diabolical plan."
"And a partner to match."
"She's not workin' alone?"
"Who else is causing this?"
"No!" she wailed.
"We don't speak of him!" she hissed.
"He doesn't exist!" she moaned.
"Is 'he' a god?"
"Of course he is."
"No, Tempest! We don't speak of him!"
"Do you have a death wish?!"
Thankfully, Lucy skipped the final wailing of the sisters and finished her piece. "As you can see," she hummed. "Khione is working with another god to set all this up. Hades, if I had to guess." The daughter of Apollo added. "It certainly explains why they're so intent on doing more than just attacking the camp. The snow is all over New York, not just here. There have been so many more accidents, and I can only imagine the monster attacks outside of Camp Half-Blood. They must be reveling in all this death." Her tone was one of disgust, tinged with sorrow. With that, she sat back down.Kveykva wrote:──── WilhelmxWattson

Wilhelm laughed softly, matching his visibly gentle nature. "Maybe, but don't put yer money on it. There's plenty th' Athena cabin is better at than mine. Usually, it's plannin' ahead." He added light-heartedly. Will double-checked that Kade was following before making his way down to the forges. The smell of ash and steel brought back a flood of memories, some more pleasant than others. He remembered his first summer when he was twelve. It was an awkward time, to be sure; Will had hit a colossal growth spurt, growing two inches in hardly a month. His voice had started to crack as it deepened, and none of it was conducive to "fitting in," even at a camp made for demigods. I've come a long way. He mused, lighting some tinder with a finger to start warming the forges. His eyes wandered to the lacquered wood case he'd left the night before; his birthday gift. "Mh, don't 'spose I'll get a chance t' show yer head counselor this 'fore he leaves. Damn shame, too. Y'all are always tellin' me I need th' right weapon to appreciate the fightin'."

mentioned: quest group╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ the shrill call of dionysus nearly served to shock teilo enough to spill the coffee that was warming him from the inside, but he managed to keep a shred of composure as he answered the request, rising from his empty bench to drift over in the direction of the quickly-filling table. he sat next to someone he didn't know the name of, keeping his eyes cast downward, empty of outward emotion. his bags were kicked underneath the bench, out of the way of any unsuspecting and particularly clumsy pedestrians, and he began to listen.
as chiron spoke, he pursed his lips. advice against new campers - did he count? was that his cue to pick up his stuff and be on his way?
no. he'd already sat down. he'd already given himself the mental preparations to look at the outside world with his newly aged eyes. he had had the dream. that meant something.
the prophecy sent a chill down his back, the kind that made his ears buzz and his neck inadvertently jerk.
all too quickly, a girl was speaking, recounting - with startling accuracy - the conversation she had had with what she named as the 'grey sisters'.
"but hades exists," he managed to point out when she was done, surprising himself. "everyone knows hades exists. why would they be scared to mention the god of the underworld?" teilo didn't mean for it to sound particularly hostile, but feared that it would come across in that manner. for a moment, he considered flicking the 'invisible' switch, but it was out now. instead, he chose to take a long sip from his mug, avoiding gazes.

mentioned: auggie╚xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx╝ as auggie began to find the humour in the situation, digging the nails into the coffin, orin's look of horror became one of - not quite irritation, and not close enough to anger, but offence, certainly. "are you joking?" he asked, the tone sounding unusual. "everything is going absolutely down the drain right now, and you're sat here, having a giggle at my expense because i happened to - to succumb to really intense circumstances. you're making fun of me, in a time like this? really? do you wanna think about that, for a second?"
it only lasted a couple more seconds. but she was laughing, and part of him was quite happy for it - especially given the state he had found her in. the scowl cracked into a smile of utter disbelief. "and i thought the end of the world couldn't get any worse," he muttered through a breathy chuckle. "this has done it. this has done me in." a brief pause, a gulp. "'great and mighty', did you say? do you mind if i get that in writing?"
orin managed to collect himself, glad to find that auggie was managing to do the same. "i was ready to go a little while ago. but you were busy... blogging." it was times like these that he was rather thankful that most demigods were not well-versed in the world of social media - he imagined that if the same had happened back home - which the thought of sent little sparks through his chest - he would have never lived it down.
though his steps were a bit disjointed and out of rhythm at first, he soon found his stride. "don't dote," he grumbled. "i'm fine. and i'm - i'm gonna change my passcode, because i'm not having the possibility of you going through all my... business."
changing it to two-two-two-two would probably work. it'd throw her off.
he stepped out, frowning at the cold outside of the cabin, and looked toward the mess hall - where it appeared the meeting was beginning, from the amount of people that had been presumably thrown out by the force that was mr. d. "i'm gonna get monkey wrenched, aren't i?" he said. "for the phone thing. they're gonna have my guts. mr. d's gonna... banish me. to the underworld." despite his trepidation, orin kept walking. as the building got closer, his nerves rose. maybe it wasn't that important. maybe it was going to be fine. maybe it was something he should bring to them later, when they weren't all talking about the upcoming quest.
unfortunately, his right mind was the one in control of his feet, and they marched onwards.

|⟡|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Dining Pavilion|Tags: Quest Meeting Group|
Mirabelle had nodded over towards Jamie and Aiden when they joined the group at the table before turning her attention back to everything at hand. She bit back a groan as the dreaded Lucy seated herself across from her. Her heart softened a bit when she noticed Lucy's smeared makeup; a telltale sign that the other girl had been crying. That, and she'd actually witnessed it earlier. Sure, the tears could have been feigned - but something inside Mirabelle told her that wasn't the case. Casting her gaze back to Chiron, Mirabelle did her best to look busy to avoid any attention from the devious daughter of Apollo. Thankfully, the other girl seemed too occupied with the conversation to actually pay her any mind. When Lucy started speaking, Mirabelle listened politely nonetheless. It was useful information to be sure - albeit information that sent her stomach clenching with dread. Either that, or perhaps the mention of the Grey Sisters and their wild taxi was enough to make her feel carsick. A god that even the Grey Sisters won't speak of... The thought made her shiver ever so slightly. That could have also just been the bitter cold. At the mention of Hades, she resisted the ufge to roll her eyes. Hades. Yeah, right. From everything she had read about him, he actually seemed like a remotely laid-back god. At least, in comparison with the others. Besides, what possible motivation would Hades have to help Khione? It made no sense.
Mirabelle's thoughts were echoed aloud by a newer face - Teilo, she recalled. She wasn't sure if they had officially met yet, but there would be time for that later. "I agree," she spoke up, and almost instantly regretted it. Multiple pairs of eyes shifted their attention to her, making her feel more than mildly self-conscious. "It just doesn't make much sense, when you think about it. Hades has never posed a threat to the demigods before - and why would he ally himself with Khione?"
|⟡|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Outside Cabin 11 --> Outside Cabin 3|Tags: Hu & Caspia|Mentions: S'ad's Prank|
Leaving the dining pavilion behind her, Juliet figured she'd go plot some capers near her cabin to pass the time. She also wanted to spend some time with Romeo, perhaps let him out to play in the snow again? He had seemed to really enjoy it the previous day.
She was just starting to near the ramshackle cabin when she spotted something odd out front. Was that a... gryphon? It didn't look like any that she'd seen - the Greek gryphons were smaller and usually black in colour. They reminded Juliet of hyenas a bit. But this one was absolutely terrifying. Red-gold fur, twice the size of a lion. And those feathers... they seemed to possess a fine cutting edge, not unlike daggers. If they were truly as sharp as they looked, Juliet would have loved to get her hands on some. That being said, she might lose a hand if she tried plucking that oversized chicken. Wait - was that a gem it was guarding? Her fingers itched to steal such a sparkly item - judging by the cut, it had to be worth a decent amount of money at the least. Now came the real question - was it worth it to be potentially mauled to death by some giant beast? Huh. Maybe I should run this by Who, just in case. If they were going to get away with stealing it, and ideally, some feathers, then she would need at least one other person to aid in the caper.
Quietly so not to alert the great creature, Juliet snuck back the way she had come. She slowed her pace as she reached the low building of the Poseidon cabin. She stiffened as the salty air wafted past her when she walked up to the entrance, but otherwise showed no sign of her paralysing fear of the ocean. She knocked on the door - shave-and-a-haircut pattern, of course - and waited for a response from within.

In his haste to find someone who could potentially help the dryads, Chuck made the mistake of running on the snow. His cloven hooves weren't exactly suited to the cold substance, however. One quick step sent the satyr sprawling across the ground. He ended up flat on his butt for the second time that day. As he dusted the snow off his pants, he thought he could make out a familiar figure exiting the Dining Pavilion. The Demeter head counselor, or so he thought. Like, perfect! Maybe they'll be able to help out or something. Carefully this time, Chuck started walking in her direction.
When he neared Yuno, he waved his hands to get their attention. "Like, hey there!" the satyr bleated out. "Uh, I know you're like, probably busy or something, but do you have a moment? It's like, super important."

"The dining pavilion..." Zahra scratched her head. "That is the large building with the columns, yes?" She had noticed people eating when she had approached Chiron in that area, but she wasn't about to make assumptions. "Perhaps you could lead me there? I do not wish to lose my way." She offered the teenager a warm smile.

[✩] Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|Head counsellor|Cabin 13|tags:OrinAuggie felt a pang of something similar to guilt at Orin’s offended tone, her expression faltering slightly. It didn’t stop her from laughing though, the reaction was beyond her control. It was like laughing at a funeral—something she had also been known for doing. One time she’d actually been having a laugh with the recently deceased, but of course, nobody believed her that Uncle Jack was sitting right there and she’d been berated for disrupting the service and sent to stand outside.
She didn’t mean to react to things inappropriately or to annoy people, and she had a brief flash of panic, remembering the harsh looks and harsher words she’d given before. Then his hurt look broke into a smile and relief washed over her. “It’s called sarcasm, buddy,” she said in response to the ‘high and mighty’ comment, rolling her eyes. “Blogging?” She raised her eyebrows. “I think you must have a double concussion now because you were on the floor until about five seconds ago but whatever.”
“I’m not doting.” She shot him a glare as they stepped outside, putting a little more space between them as if to prove that she really didn’t care whether he fell down again or not. “And I wouldn’t go through your ‘business’ if somebody paid me. I don’t wanna know what you get up to on that thing.” She gestured towards the cell phone with an overexaggerated look of distaste.
She shoved her hands in her pockets again, more so from the cold than concern about her powers acting up. She was still anxious, but she thought she at least had it under control now. It wasn’t until that moment that she realized she had very recently been sobbing with a full face of makeup and probably didn’t look so great right now. The thought made her grimace, but there wasn’t anything she could do about it right now. If anybody asked she could just say she jumped in the lake, that wasn’t the least believable story, right? There was also the excuse that her looking like death was just because of the family resemblance. It didn’t really matter what reason she came up with, she decided eventually, because if anybody questioned her she’d just pummel them.
“Definitely,” she agreed, not feeling up to the whole reassuring thing. “Say hi to the old man for me.” She felt her heart rate speed up as they neared the dining pavilion. She wasn’t even the one who had to share the bad news, but she wasn’t looking forward to witnessing the reaction to it regardless. “I doubt they’ll be that upset about you checking your phone,” she muttered finally. “I mean...they kind of have bigger things to worry about than you texting your sister.” [✿]Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Dining pavilion|tags:Aiden, quest meeting groupJamie blinked in surprise at Aiden’s question. “Yeah, you didn’t know that?” He guessed his home country wasn’t something he really brought up often, it was never really relevant unless someone asked. He grinned at the other boy’s suspicion, eyes shining with amusement. “I promise it’s real. It’s as real as our igloos and the polar bears that we ride to school,” he said, his ridiculous statement contradicting the reality that was Tim Hortons and probably only serving to confuse Aiden further. He didn’t have a chance to explain before Mr. D’s voice was booming across the dining pavilion, making Jamie jump, instantly bringing back the anxiety that had been eating away at him all morning.
He followed Aiden to the indicated table with some reluctance, not really wanting to be closer to the irritated wine god or the prospect of the ever looming quest. He nodded in return to Mira as he sat down on one of the benches, his body tense with anxiety, as though he was preparing to flee the meeting at any moment. He listened in silence as Chiron spoke, hoping that the supposedly prophetic dreams he’d had were similar enough to everyone else’s that he wouldn’t actually have to speak aloud to the group.
He noticed Aiden leaning beside him, clearly trying to avoid someone’s gaze. He followed where the other boy seemed to be hiding from and saw Lucy. He couldn’t say he was surprised, though he still didn’t really understand why so many people were upset by the girl—she’d always seemed nice enough to him. Then she was speaking and Jamie listened with wide eyes, his gaze flicking between the other campers as they piped up with their own opinions on the proceedings.
if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Silent Innocents―――――――――――――――――◄15|Female|Child of Apollo/Legacy of Muta|Bisexual|tagged; Quest meeting group►indentation Glancing around as the other spoke, her expression ever-changing as they went from topic. When Mira spoke up she paused and blinked, before tilting her head to the left slightly in thought. "I don't think he would." She whispered softly, "The sisters speak of someone they refuse to name. Someone they fear. While Hades is one of the big three and god of the underworld, he doesn't seem like the type to do something like this." Dora swallowed softly, then shook her head, her cheeks flushing. Turning her green gaze to Chiron, and a little louder spoke. "Is there anything that the daughter of Khione left behind that I could possibly... get something off of? It may help clear up any issues and if she is involved or not." With her peace said, Dora seemed to fold in on herself as if she was attempting to hide from any stares of those around her.
indentation There was more than one reason that Dora rarely spoke, the most commonly known reason was that she was in a way paying respect to Grandma Muta. The less commonly known reason - mostly by her brother and a few close confidants, - was that talking actually made her throat sore. While there was no mortal medical reason for it, she suspected it was what little influence she had from Grandma Muta's legacy. As it was well known that most - if not all - of her children after her tongue was cut, were born mute. Just like her. Dora figured that she was one of Muta's only children - or decedent really - that could speak at all.

It was a quick thing and he was done rather quickly. Turning back to the fourteen-year-old girl, he glanced down at the fox, Sunny he thought absently, before returning his gaze to Valkeri. "There a reason you're in here sleeping the day away rather than doing something helpful? Like maybe shoving snow out of the walkway? Or even just going to the arena to spar or train? Anything other than sleeping?" Marcellus glared down at the fox, and sneered at it, before grinning cruelly. "You'd do nicely as a fur scarf." He huffed after a moment then sat down on Theodora's bed, turning his attention back to the sleepy teenager.
indentation "A lot's happened. I don't know when you decided to take your nap. But the Big House collapsed a bit, there's an unknown number of people that are dead, and a prophecy has been given and there's probably going to be a quest." He paused, sneering once more - that at this point that might be the only thing he does. " Thulile's at the meeting their having about the prophecy, getting information." He admitted, with a shrug.

Cassandra Peters|19|Hermes/Cabin|11|Head Counselor|Loc:Forest|Tags/Mentions:Edgar(Raven)Open
As Cass walked into the forest she made her way over to a large cedar tree where she typically goes to work on her friendship bracelets or just be alone. Cass was glad to see however that there was a sheltered spot where she could sit on the dirt rather than snow. As she settled down she took out varying shades of blue and green string to start the bracelet. Cass was mostly working on auto-pilot since her thoughts were mostly about the quest, The big house, and the upcoming funerals. She wondered how many more people she would lose, and although she wasn't going to admit it to anyone she was absolutely terrified. Camp was the only place that Cass ever felt like a home and she didn't want to lose it. The few times she had tried to find her mother had been unsuccessful and she didn't have anywhere to go. Cass jumped as she suddenly felt a weight on her left shoulder and looked over to see Edgar looking at her with his head tilted before croaking softly she sighed giving him a pet before pulling out the bacon pieces and giving them to him before turning back to her bracelet and her troubled thoughts.

Mirabelle fell silent as Dora spoke up, directing her attention to the younger girl. She listened carefully, nodding in agreement. The idea of using her psychometry skills in that manner was genius. Despite herself, Mirabelle felt a small surge of pride. She shot an approving smile Dora's way, letting the feeling shine through breifly. Her face quickly fell, however, as Chiron sadly shook his head.
"Vivienne didn't have much to begin with when she arrived," the centaur explained with a sigh. "What little she did possess, she took with her when she fled."
Vivienne. They were using names now. Mirabelle remembered Vivienne - though mostly just her violent departure from camp. Of course, she had known that's who they were talking about. But putting a name to their potential aggressor only served to make everything seem more real. Memories surfaced from that horrible night - the dark campfire smoke, the purple flames, Vivienne's pain - oh gods, no one could forget such horrible agony. At that point in her life, Mirabelle hadn't had the careful control of her amokinesis that she did now. Vivienne's suffering had cut through to her core, like someone had taken a knife and thrust it into her heart, then twisted. She had nearly drowned in it.
Shaking her head briskly to clear it of such dark thoughts proved to be a bad idea - it only exacerbated the minor headache that had begun to mount. The only sign of her discomfort was a slight clench in her jaw. As she refocused her attention on Chiron, Mirabelle could swear that the centaur had more to say. However, he was holding back for the time being, most likely to allow anyone else with information to speak up. She figured she would wait to say her piece until they were on the topic of the quest itself.
