Hunter Mayhem | Ares | Tagging: Samuel | Location: Camp

Hunter thought just for a moment that he could see some sort of...apprehension on Samuel's face- and perhaps it was assumption, or just the look in his eyes- just before they shook hands, but chose to brush that off rather than cause tension by questioning it. After all, he was quite certain that more than once in his life he’d carried the same expression.

When he was questioned on his name, the blond shrugged, letting his arm fall to his side again and rolled back his shoulders, feeling the tension leaving his back and neck. "I’ve been called by both. Generally I just go by Hunter though," he explained. He’d honestly only introduced himself by full name simply because he was proud of his identity, of his full being, including his name. Whether someone took that as vain or not was up to them, he figured, and thought little of it.

Kade Turner | Athena | Tagging: Karter, Pippa | Location: Camp, Half-Blood Hill

For a brief- and rather awkward- moment, Kade wondered if he’d said something wrong by Pippa's sudden silence. Of course, hearing those words about their camp director could be more than a little off-putting, he reckoned, but it was the truth. Was he supposed to say the god was sunshine and rainbows?

Kade however, offered a smile in return when she addressed him again. "Thought it would be proper to ask." Not that he assumed her weak or incapable to say the least, but even so, an offer of help never hurt, he figured. "Alright, come on then. Let’s see if any of the other Aphrodite kids are around to greet you." He didn’t know if they’d get along with her or not, and as much as he’d have liked to say I'm sure they’ll love you! he also didn’t want to make any promises, especially ones he wasn’t sure one way or another were true.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Mirabelle, Juliet
Aggy held her blade at the ready and widened her stance for better balance. She watched Mirabelle pull out a tube of lipstick?! that suddenly grew into a sword. Oh, that's where it came from earlier. Aggy had wondered where it disappeared to.
She contemplated the weapons. The Xiphos concerned her more, with a much better reach than the dagger. But Jewelweed is mad fast. She could fend off another sword just fine, but she's be out quick if she let the messy girl get close enough. Mirabelle has better protection, you'll need to find an opening in her armour to take her out.
She stepped back until the she stood the farthest from either of them. They seem like they have some tension, let them wear eachother out, then go for the kill, er, win. She held fast, mainly focused on Juliet, but keeping an eye out for Mirabelle, a faint smile graced her lips, but she stayed oddly quiet.

Henry "Hank" David Walker|Male|Apollo|Location: Dining Pavilion|tags: Izzy, open!
Hank walked into the pavilion and went behind the counter to pick out the dog food he'd stored for Izzy. It would be easier to just have it in the cabin, but one of his mother's stipulations for him being a year round camper was that the dog stayed with him at all times, and not feeding a hunting dog around the time you ate was just bad practice.
He hummed a tune as he scooped it for her, dumping it in her bowl before unclipping her leash. "Wait." He told her, and she obeyed, though she remained facing her bowl while she watched him go to pick his own food out.
He had to admit it, even though the feast was delightful, there was nothing quite like eating game you'd hunted yourself. He ended up picking hard boiled eggs and waffles, which he slathered in syrup.
Putting his plate at the table and sitting down, he answered Izzy's hungry eyes. "Dig in!" He said, smiling as she happily ripped into her food.

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Cabins ---> Half-Blood Hill/gate|tags: Emerson (mentioned), open
Ophelia left the cabin, trying not to run to start running toward the gate as she realized that most the new blood had already arrived, -drat it!- and wouldn't be prime for making an impression on.
Instead she strode gracefully, still covering the ground quite quickly. She had to force herself not to check on her third eye as she walked, knowing searching fingers would only claw through her morning's work.
She stood by the gate, looking out for prey. Something moved from far off, and she held a hand over her eyes, trying to make the form out.
A lone camper approached, carrying several bags and was that a cat carrier?
She grinned, and waved wildly, but saved her breath until they were in hearing range.
They reached the gate, but didn't seem to see her yet, instead looking longingly at the already gathered campers. Ophelia felt a pang of empathy, as she too had once been in this position, and stepped forward, calling out "Hello! First timer?" With a kindly smile, the third eye she had painted on to gain fear slipping her mind....

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Arena|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Mirabelle was the first to act. Her fighting style was surprisingly aggressive for a daughter of Aphrodite, especially given her more fragile appearance. Using the element of surprise to her advantage, she quickly closed on Juliet. The six inch height difference between her and her opponent gave her an extra edge. She struck a blow at Juliet, who deftly ducked out of the way. That didn't stop Mirabelle, however. The daughter of Aphrodite recovered quickly, spinning around to slash at her opponent from the left. When Juliet dodged yet again, she changed tactics. Sparring with the daughter of Hermes was like fighting a stick of butter. She noticed Juliet's attention shift. Taking full advantage of the other girl's distraction, she swiped at Juliet's legs, hoping to knock her to the ground.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Arena|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |

Despite having faced off against Mirabelle many times before, Juliet was still surprised with the ferocity of her attack. She reacted quickly, ducking out of the way of her first blow. She noticed that Mira was only using her xiphos - often when they'd sparred before, or played Capture the Flag, the taller girl used both the xiphos and a dagger. Huh. She must be going easy because of the newbie, she reckoned. Juliet had no such plans of going easy. The second blow nearly got Juliet - she hadn't expected Mira to readjust to her miss so quickly. She must've worked on her recovery time, she realised as she danced out of the way. She cast a glance over at Aggy, who was just... watching? That's weird. She contemplated throwing her dagger in Aggy's direction, but that would have left her without a weapon. Other than her quick wits, of course. Her quick look at the unclaimed demigod had cost her valuable time. She almost didn't see the third attack coming. Almost. Juliet jumped as Mira's blade cut through the air where her feet were just moments ago. "Give it up, sweetheart, sparring against me is pointless," she taunted, dodging yet another blow. "Haha, get it? Pointless. Like your sword, seeing as you haven't hit me yet."
Juliet's terrible pun seemed only to frustrate Mirabelle even more. The Aphrodite counselor swung at her yet again, this time grazing her shoulder as she just barely managed to jump out of the way. As they continued this savage dance, Juliet's mind raced. There was no way she could beat Mirabelle one-on-one like this. A dagger against a two-foot xiphos? Not a chance. Juliet couldn't even get close enough to strike. Unless... A smirk played on her lips as she came up with a plan that was sure to work.
By this point, both girls had worked up quite a sweat. They weren't quite out of breath yet, but Mirabelle's heavier armour wasn't doing her any favours. To all appearances, they were fully consumed with battling one another -seemingly forgetting that there was a third opponent they should be watching out for.

"Like, sure!" Chuck replied. Completely disregarding his general clumsiness and tendency to make a total fool of himself, the satyr nodded enthusiastically. "It'd be nice to like, get some satyr recognition around here. Show some satyr powers and stuff, you know?" He grinned sheepishly and patted the reed pipes on his waist. "Like, I could totally play some cool tunes or something," he suggested. "Plants go bananas for that kind of stuff. Might summon some critters too, sometimes they like, come out when I play, you know? And it'll be like, a totally groovy thing to do after Capture the Flag." Chuck had almost forgotten that it was Friday until he mentioned the game. He'd already offered to help out in the medical tent, and in finding wounded campers. Now he'd actually have something to look forward to after Capture the Flag! Well, other than sleeping, of course.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Mirabelle, Juliet
Holding back from the action physically hurt, but she knew her lack of training put her at a huge disadvantage. As the two went shot for shot, Aggy crept up from behind Mirabelle, staying out of the helmeted girl's range of vision.
Then it came. Mirabelle started taking a swing at Juliet. From observing, Aggy knew she would expose a prime spot on her back when she lunged forward (The leather is thinner there to allow for movement). But Aggy would need to act fast.
Aggy went for it, plunging her dull blade into the chink and remained behind Mirabelle, using her as a shield.
She kept her left hand free of the handle, ready to use her cuffed arm as a shield for whatever Juliet threw her way. You don't really need it anyway, keep your body safe. the voice in her head told her.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Arena|Tags: Aggy, Juliet|

Mirabelle was about to launch another attack when pain pierced her between the shoulderblades. She bit back a curse. In her haste to teach Juliet a lesson, she'd completely forgotten about Aggy. She could feel warm wetness seeping into her shirt - probably just a small gash; it felt like the armour had taken most of the impact. Still, it was enough to make her bleed a little. Quick to react, Mirabelle whipped around, gritting her teeth as the action made the point of impact throb. Her blade cut through nothing but air - in her haste, she had missed Aggy entirely, who seemed to be using her as a human shield. Rather than try for the younger girl again, she focused on an opponent she knew she could take down - she'd done it many times before.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Arena|Tags: Aggy, Mirabelle |

Juliet was preparing to dodge another blow as Aggy came up from behind Mira and stabbed her in the back - literally. "That was a dirty trick," she called out, though a smirk still lingered on her face. "Great job!" As Mirabelle completely missed Aggy, Juliet saw her winding up for another attack. Rather than dodge, this time, she braced herself. She knew following through with this plan would leave her open to attack from Aggy, but it was a risk she'd have to take. Mirabelle's xiphos bit into her shoulder, though luckily the area was thickly padded with leather. The impact was jarring, to say the least. Putting on her best pained expression, Juliet dropped to her knees, clutching her shoulder. "Owww," she mumbled dramatically.
Mirabelle stopped attacking her, completely dropping her weapon in her haste. "Oh my gods, are you okay?" the empathetic girl dropped down to Juliet's side. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"
The genuine worry in Mira's voice almost made Juliet feel bad for what she was about to do. "I think you dislocated my shoulder," she groaned. As Mirabelle reached out to inspect it, Juliet locked eyes with Aggy and winked. In one sweeping motion, the daughter of Hermes kicked Mirabelle's legs out from under her. The Aphrodite counselor stumbled and fell to the ground, no doubt weighed down by her heavier armour. Juliet instantly sprang to her feet and forcefully kicked Mirabelle's xiphos, sending the blade skittering across the arena. One down, one to go. She turned her attention to Aggy as Mira tried to scramble to her feet, do doubt cussing Juliet out in ancient Greek. Rather than make the first move, the daughter of Hermes braced herself to see what the unclaimed demigod would do next.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Mirabelle, Juliet
Aggy watched Juliet in confusion, her grip on the blade slipping a bit. Were they supposed to hold back some? Then she saw the wink, and she pulled back onto her guard. She watched Juliet easily disarm Mirabelle. Well dang, that was unsportsmanlike. Thought Aggy honestly couldn't complain.
She watched the dagger wielding girl kick the blade away, wondering how she could possibly win.
Aggy measured her up: strong fighter, fast as lightning, willing to do anything to win. There was no way Aggy had a chance against that. Let's have some fun then!

Aggy grinned madly, then roared like a wounded animal and charged for all she was worth. Juliet was quick, but Aggy was a solid mass propelled directly at her. Move out the way, move out the way, she chanted in her head as barrelled at the girl, ready to risk life and limb to get a nick on her. Or, with the dullness of her blade, more likely a bruise.

Betrayal coursed through Mirabelle's veins as she pushed herself up. I should've saw that coming, she mentally berated herself. Jewel can never be trusted to play fair. It had been a while since the two had sparred together - Mirabelle had lost her touch a bit when it came to the daughter of Hermes. Taking advantage of my feelings like that... I thought she was seriously injured - that's - that's messed up. She managed to get to her feet, but she quickly noticed that her weapon was nowhere to be seen. The tall blonde frantically searched the arena. Her eyes lit up when she spotted her xiphos - but she swiftly realised that the blade was all the way on the other side. To get to it, she'd have to get around Juliet and Aggy. Cursing her ill luck, Mirabelle tried to creep around the two as quietly as possible.

Juliet barely had a moment to react when Aggy suddenly came charging at her like a wild boar, screaming a guttural battle cry. Though she wasn't one to scare easily, her blood ran cold. The wiry girl scrambled to get out of the way in time, just barely making it thanks to her superhuman speed. She was knocked off balance by the awkward motion, leaving her stumbling as she tried to readjust.

Skylar nodded along with him, thoughtfully. "That would be so cool! I'm trying to get lots of people to join, that will really show the firsties all sorts of powers!" She had forgotten about Capture the Flag, though. She would have to plan around that. And still make time to greet new Hecate siblings and show them around. And teach them the rules. Now, she wasn't sure she has the time to go looking for people to join. She would have to do something about that. Flyers and sign up sheets maybe? That would be cool. "Yeah. Do you know anyone else who would want to join? Also, make sure to tell everyone except first-timers about it. We don't have many people signed up yet."

"Uh, like, maybe Juliet?" Chuck suggested, tugging on his goatee as he thought. "She's like, always ready to show off. No idea where she is, though. I think I, like, saw her getting breakfast this morning, but I haven't seen her since, you know?" He shifted on his hooves, considering where the rascally girl could be. "Chances are, she's like, totally getting into trouble somewhere," the satyr mused. "She like, usually does something big for all the summer campers. Prank-wise." He shook his head disapprovingly. "Unless she's like, busy or something. If she got distracted, there's no telling where she'd be, you know?" Chuck tapped his finger against his chin, glancing up at the sun. It was already high in the sky - it was later in the day than he thought. "Like, lunch should be soon, though, and she never misses that," he supplied. "At lunch, you can like, find her over at the Hermes table - but like, there are a lot of Hermes dudes, usually." Chuck was completely oblivious to the fact that he was rambling as he thought aloud. "You could like, always ask the other counselors too, you know?" he added, almost as an afterthought.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Mirabelle, Juliet

So close! Aggy thought, getting pumped at the thought of hitting Juliet. Though she'd known the other girl had a high dodge risk, Aggy hadn't prepared herself to stop, and slid past where Juliet had been, stumbling over her feet in an attempt to slow down, before turnig her body back toward the wiry girl. But not close enough.
She saw the other blonde out of the corner of her eye, but she had other things to worry about. She won't go after me first...probably, the stubby girl calculated. Besides, she deserves a chance at revenge for that trick Jewelweed pulled.
She had long lost the element of surprise, if she'd ever had it, so Aggy went for the next best thing.
Without thinking twice, she stabbed the tip of her cutlass, the only remotely sharp point, into her hand. Some adrenaline should do the trick. She grinned wickedly as the dirty blonde collected her balance, and closed the distance between them, her blade reaching for the spot on the breast plate by Juliet's hip, where a gap opened to allow for movement [[I'm not entirely sure what Juliet's armour looks like, if this is wrong, pretend I just said thinner spot or something that's accurate]]

Henry "Hank" David Walker|Male|Apollo|Location: Dining Pavilion|tags: Izzy, Vincent (mentioned) open!

Popping an egg into his mouth, Hank surveyed his surroundings. A bulky Ares kid sat several tables away. At least, Hank thought that he was an Ares kid. He had never really approached him, on account of him carrying around a baseball bat that never failed to set off Izzy's senses when he came near, though Hank had no idea why. I mean, it's just a baseball bat, maybe a touch bigger than a normal one. He mused, swallowing and scooping up some soggy waffle on his fork. He debated approaching him, as it would be good to finally meet, but he decided to focus on his breakfast before making a decision.
