"I'm a fourth year," Alvin said, not unnerved in the slightest by the fact that he was surrounded by many
older students. He had always been like that: so childish that he was coming around from the other side
of the spectrum as mature. In the oddest way, it made perfect sense. Of course, Alvin didn't really notice
these things; he was far too oblivious to think about it.

even if it was a polite gesture, robbie got a little uncomfortable when luke took her books. for whatever reason, her textbooks gave her a sense of indescribable comfort. she didn't say anything about it- he was just being kind. as they walked, she couldn't help but sneak a glance at elle and oscar. she didn't know much about the slytherin boy, but roberta held a firm belief in the fact that slytherin was full of a bunch of stuck up tightwads. to this day, nobody has been able to disprove that. robbie almost considered going over and saying something. fortunately, it wasn't like her to go stick her nose in business that doesn't concern her own well being. instead, she focused her attention back again on luke after mentally reminding herself to question elle about him later.

"well, i'd like to see you try and kill me," she replied, her mouth involuntarily twitching up into a small smile. "despite popular belief, i'm actually quite dangerous. knowledge is the best weapon you can have, especially at hogwarts," robbie couldn't help but point out. she hated being underestimated because of her house, gender or bony appearance. she didn't press the topic for his sake. when she got defensive, roberta never shut up. they clinking of dishes and avid chatter of students signaled that they were nearing the great hall. most of the time the brunette would find a place to sit in peace, without the distraction of the pointless conversations her house members were having. yet, it seemed awfully rude just to abandon luke after he had made in effort to be nice to her.
