"Wonderful!" Liam couldn't hold back a grin as he shook Nicolette's hand. "I'm Liam Crawford. It's a pleasure to meet you." The only other person he had met so far was Conner, but he hadn't arrived yet. Scratch that. The other boy was here, the one that would lead them on this investigation. "Yeah, we're the only ones so far. How many more are we expecting?" By this point, Liam had his bag slung over his shoulder instead of hugging it awkwardly. Plus, hugging it wasn't all that comfortable with the gadgets inside that dug into his chest and stomach. Liam was eager to get this show on the road. Even though he hadn't really noticed it, but he was bobbling up and down with excitement. "This feels like a thriller movie, you know? Going inside a haunted house and not knowing if there's a murderer around the corner... So exciting! I'd go in there and examine the first floor myself if I wasn't such a coward. I mean, I want someone to watch my back while I'm in there. Are we staying as one group or splitting up into smaller ones?" Liam decided to shut up there. He tended to drone on and on if he got excited about something, and he obviously was. After all, there was a possible scientific discovery waiting inside! It was like a scientist's paradise.

Following slowly, silently, she was, for once, careful not to break pieces off from the hold. She couldn't risk them knowing they were up here. She almost snickered at the scientist's observation, but decided against it. But she could have fun. She carefully tugged a small hunk of the timber off, and slogged it down the other end of the long hall. It clattered between the thin door way found there, and broke through one of the thin wooden steps there. She grinned, knowing at least one would think- or, in the latter male's case, know that it had something to do with the girls. She pulled Janica along so that they were once again above them, only the light glinting off of their teeth an indication the they were up there. They were animal, but they were still smart.
She watched in curiosity as she looped her knees over thewood, and she dove her fingers quietly into the wood, so that she was on all fours, upside down, her long black hair falling in vertical tresses. She rather enjoyed being upside down- for the rush of falling was like a drug to her. There were holes all around the children's home for her and the other's enjoyment. That and her writing scattered through out.

Nicolette smiled as another man walked up tot he building, she remembered him as Conner Davis, the dicoverer of the orphanage, the man who'd began the investigation. "Hello again, Conner." Nicolette said politely with a nod. "It appears that we are, unless somebody's already gone inside...but the door was locked when I arrived and the dust inside looks like it hasn't been disturbed in a while." Nicolette answered before giggling softly when the boy she'd shaken hands with, named Liam, started rambling before quieting down. "I'm with you there, I'm all for horror but there is no way I was going any further by myself...and there'd better not be murders in there. I'm not dying before I've written and had my book published, need to get more information though...Why are you here?" Nicolette asked Liam, she'd already figured what Conner was here for, he was there for to investigate the massacre of the personnel who had once worked in the orphanage.

"Oh an author I see," Liam commented when she mentioned she wanted to get a book published before she died. This was a perfect spot to get an idea for a murder mystery too. Of course, she was just one of the daring authors to go on this expedition at all. Liam assumed that every other author who wrote in that genre was a coward for not taking up such an opportunity. "I'm here to make a scientific discovery. I've got lots of little gadgets in my bag to help me prove that there's some sci-fy creature in there. Like, some mutated creature who changed from the lack of sunlight or something along those lines. I'm sure my research paper would earn me the Nobel Prize or something." Just thinking about it made Liam quite excited. "I'm sure we can even aid one another. I can help make your novel scientifically accurate, and you can edit my research paper. Fair trade?" Liam turned his attention from Nicolette when he heard the clattering inside of the orphanage. "Something's definitely in there. Do you think it's the two girls that tragically died here? Or some form of mutated rodent?"

Conner Davis

He glanced past the others into the orphanage. It was definitaly dangerous, even without the odd events. After his experience he was more certain than ever someone or something was in there. What it was, he was determined to find out. The orphanage put him on edge, but if he wasn't addicted to that feeling he probably wouldn't be doing this in the first place.
He smiled at Liam's obvious excitment, glad he wasn't the only one looking forward to their expidition. "Two more are coming. A woman named Remy and a man named Nick. Due to my last experience I think it would be best if we stuck together, at least for the time being. The structure of the building isn't great and someone could get hurt if they wandered off alone." He decided not to answer the question liam has just asked, as he was curious on Nicolettes thoughts about the case.

"A scientific discovery? So, you don't believe that this is some kind of...I don't know, demon?" Nicolette asked, honestly, Nicolette believe either could be possible; a mutated human or a spawn from the fiery flames of h*ll. Liam seemed pretty excited about it, Nicolette thought it was pretty interesting for somebody to be so excited about this. Nicolette was just here for an idea. She listened as he spoke before beaming, she liked having her novels correct and having a scientist's help with that would help with that. "That would be great." Nicolette said, still grinning before turning quickly when she heard a clattering. "Honestly, I don't like either of those choices, if it's the girls, I'll be a little freaked out, it's been 29 years since they supposedly 'died'; and if it's a rat, I'll just...scream. Rats are gross." Nicolette said, pulling a disgusted face for a second. Truthfully she'd prefer the rat, the two girls would freak her out more then just a little bit. She was glad that Conner had said they would be staying together in this investigation, she honestly wouldn't want to walk around this place alone.

She now couldn't help but giggle at the rodent comment. She covered her mouth quicly though, her hand being torn on the serated edges. She swung back so that she was on the beam, covered by darkness more so. It was exciting to here of more people to maim. She at least knew how many more needed to arrive before she could block off windows and the only door in or out of the place. She scaled along the bar until she was in front of the door. Deciding to wait there until the rest came, she sat and dangled her legs into the air, carelessly flicking at the wood with her ankles, creating some noise. She stopped immeadiately, and indicated for Janica to freeze.
Sitting, waiting to see if the small troupe noticed, she suddnly wished for her mask. There was no reason for her obssession over the thing, but she still wanted it, like a child wanted a doll. She widened her eyes. Since changing she hadn't thought much of the past- all she remembered were a few little scenes. Now one played back to her- laying a little doll to sleep in a faded toy cot in the upstairs play room. Yes, that was it- she had taken the mask of a Nurse doll, and refused to take it off. The doll had been stunning, a little porcelien face, black curls. She drove her hand into the wodd, and shot up, heading off faster than ever, and up the thin stairs before the group would see her. She paused on the top stoop, but realised that it would be folly to stay much longer.
Her feet would be clearly visible should anyone decide to look up there. She was in an open room, with three doors leading into other rooms, and a black hall off to her right, containing more doors and a faded carpet.
She stepped into the room directly in front of her, the middle of the three in there before the hallway started, and she nimbly stepped around little old-fashioned toys and whatnot. She then picked up the little doll, and walked to a little hole in the floor in the large room. She had made it before, and dropped onto the beam directly below it. She walked to Janica, knowing that they wouldn't have seen her. Or she hoped. She now clung to the doll, and watched them for any reaction.

"Demons? Possibly. I mean, exorcisms are enough proof for me to think they exist. But if anything, I believe it's spirits, or the mutated rodent I keep mentioning. But I have a device that will check for ghostly beings. Usually they give off radio waves, or some other sort of wave. It'll detect a change in those frequencies, and that change means a ghost is in the room, though not visible to the naked eye. Kinda cool, huh? Though I'm not really expecting to find some ghostly specters in there." Liam nodded at Conner's response. One big group was probably best. Sure, he'd be a man and keep up his courage and bravery at the beginning, but he was sure it would dwindle the more odd sounds and sights in there. He could be quite the coward, but he wouldn't show that in front of a girl. That would be embarrassing. "I just find it interesting that this has been haunted longer than I've been alive, and now here I am, about to explore every inch." Every time the boy heard sounds coming from inside, he would look through the doorway, as if expecting to see something scuttle across the floor. "We're not even inside, yet there's so many sounds. I'd be kinda disappointed if it was just a homeless person who took refuge in there to escape the weather."

"Yeah, that is pretty cool." Nicolette said with a smile, pushing her hair away from her face. "Isn't that called EMF or something? Electromagnetic force? I think I've read about it before." she asked, peering around. She kind of wondered why there were so many sounds when the place seemed practically empty, other then the three of them. "It's exciting, isn't it? I mean, this place is a complete mystery. I love haunted places, they always have such interesting backgrounds." Nicolette said, walking a little deeper into the orphanage. She knew she shouldn't, Conner had said to stay in a group but she was so excited about this. "I'll be pretty disappointed as well, I'm looking forward to this investigation."

She saw an opporunity to scare them, so she walked to the middle most beam, and indicated for Janica to follow. She giggled, loud, echoing, haunting. She knew she wouldn't be seen, or shouldn't be able to be, and felt like wierding them out before the others arrived. She wanted to make sure the explorer wanted to come back in. She nudged her friend, and giggled again. She hoped she would too, as the sound was chilling. She then made her way to the beam above the door, and swung down like a bat, looking directly below her to stare at them.
The more observation made, the more she could tell how to scare them, and ultimitely, kill them. She was enjoying her sinister little thoughts. She was confused though, when the woman began to talk about magnetic waves. How was that going to find them if they were solid? She grinned, and then frowned, remembering her mask. Her eyes darkened to dangerous levels, and she was again infuriated. She didn't want to stay here without her mask, and stepped through the hole in the wall, and thudded to the ground, picking it up and putting it back on. She then took up a black chunk of stone- the kind she did her writing with.
She then made sure they weren't watching and wrote out the following.
'We dare you, we dare you, we double, double dare you!' was now scratched across the top of the doorway at the end of the hall. She was hoping at least on of them would notice it. Granted there was a lot of writing around, it was in larger letters. She smiled, and dug her way back up to the beams, digging her hands into the walls. The holes were fairly small, but definite indents.
