Ariana faced Vlad again, shrugging, "I was on my way to meet up with my parents. I hadn't seen them since I had gone off to college. To tell you the truth, I had no reason to go see them. They never were very kind to me. But they invited me to go on vacation with them. They flew out, but left me tickets for a cruise to get there. Too bad all this happened, but oh well. I'm glad I got to meet Cai." She reached up and stroked the kangaroo thoughtfully. "Anyway, I don't think we should stay out in the hallways at night. I don't know where Cai's friend Izuzu could be, but if he's with his companion hopefully they'll be alright."

Caioni stared at her for a moment, "Izuzu will be fine, it's his companion that needs to worry. If they're not careful-" He suddenly stopped talking and stared at his feet, obviously having said too much already. He quickly changed the subject, "We all need to get to bed, we've got a long way to go tomorrow and you all need to be well rested."

Vlad spun around and listened to what the woman and kangaroo had to say. He looked warily at the kangaroo as it cut its sentence short but thought nothing much of it. He nodded once, agreeing with the small marsupial, and turned once more to the sleeping serval before him. He smiled, bending over to scoop Silas in his arms. With a grunt, Vlad positioned Silas in his arms as one would cradle a child. The serval kicked, moaned in his sleep, and turned to lie on his side. Vlad made it certain that he would not allow Silas to fall from his arms and faced the kangaroo again. "Well," he started, clearing his throat, "I guess I should go find my room...or what's left of it." He cocked his head back, gesturing to the wrecked halls behind him. He mentioned his room being at the far end of the next hall over, in case he was needed or anything for any reason.
"So, I see you in the morning?" he said to the woman, adjusting Silas in his arms. "G'night then," he said, turning his back on them and starting towards his cabin.

Vlad had thought he gave the wrong directions to his cabin at first, nearly panicking when he failed to recognize the hall and numbers. He scanned the rust gold numbers on the door once more before stopping at a door labeled '107'. Hm, I think this is it.... His shoulders rose and fell as he reached for the door knob. He twisted to the right and pushed. Nothing. He tried it the other way and pushed again, but the door was still jammed. Vlad took a glance down at Silas and sighed, lifting his knee into the air and bashing the door down. It didn't make so much of a loud sound, but enough to disturb the serval in his sleep. Vlad held his breath, releasing it once Silas' breathing was even again. He stepped into the room and flicked the switch beside him. Nothing. He flicked it up and down but nothing happened. With a frustrated groan, Vlad dug through his pockets for a lighter, only to remember it was in the drawer of the side table.
After finding the lighter he flicked a flame out and searched for his bed. He found it at last, sitting against the wall with a small port hole that had been busted and cracked. He laid himself down and set Silas next to him. He killed the flame, reaching over to set it on the table beside the bed. He always kept a lighter around for...whatever reason he chose to use it. He swallowed, clearing his dry throat and tasting the bitter-sweetness of burnt chocolate before finally taking a breath and closed his eyes.

She didn't feel comfortable referring to Alice or any of them humans as them or it, not wanting to talk in front of them, about them, in third person. It made her feel weird.

((Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for not being on for like the last two days at all! Life has been very busy and I haven't had time to come on...I'm so sorry! Should be better in a few days('cause school will be out)....))

The Asian female gave a small nod of her own, feeling rather indifferent. She was still curious as to what her guardian had meant by 'it was best to not be in the forest at night', but figured she could ask him later. It was better to take his word for it, right? And she was itching to get back to where they had come from, with the naturally-lighted hallways and large library. Felzir had even mentioned something about a piano in one of the rooms, hadn't he?

"He is," Felzir replied, accompanied by a small bob of his brilliantly-colored head. Though the sun went down, his dazzling array of ruby-red scales was no less beautiful, and you could distinguish their color even in the dying light of the sun.

He lifted his wings and detached himself from the tree trunk, felling a about a meter before those leather appendages caught the little updraft and he was gliding amongst the branches. "Just follow me!" he called over his shoulder, flapping the wings every-so-often.

Used to his manner of travel, Roshon followed after the dragon, ducking under tree branches and the various forms of plant life found in the forest, shadows getting longer around them as the sun sank, further and further, into the glittering ocean.

((It's alright Asian, I'm sure everyone is busy with school final projects/finals. I for one have been pretty busy too, lol^^ Hopefully once school is out this will pick up a bit though. I've got so many ideas of what can possibly happen))

Ariana nodded good night to Vlad before turning and heading for her own sleeping quarters. She wondered what Caioni had been about to say. She stared at him for a long moment. "Cai, is there something that you wanted to tell me?" She asked softly, moving him into her arms where he would be more comfortable. He looked as exhuasted as she felt, yet he still seemed ready to continue his search for Izuzu. "Never mind, you need sleep just as much as I do, you've had a long day too."
When Cai looked like he was about to object, she placed a hand over his mouth, "No, you need to sleep. I'm sure Izuzu is perfectly capable of caring for his companion. There's a reason he was assigned to whomever his companion is, you don't need to try and care for two people." She removed her hand from his mouth and gently stroked his head, running her fingers along his velvety ears.
The kangaroo still looked a little bit upset, but her touch seemed to comfort him a bit. Slowly, his eyes closed and his head fell forward. Ariana smiled and adjusted him in her arms so that he would be more comfortable. Carrying her little guardian like a baby, she continued down the hall and into her room.

Jack shrugged and followed Roshon and Felzir towards the beach. The cruise ship was slightly tilted along the shore, but it seemed livable enough. Harmony had finally gotten out of his hair and was flying comfortably beside him, occassionally reaching over with her paw to stroke his face before continuing. Just then, something occurred to Jack and he awkwardly rubbed his hand across the back of his neck as he asked, "Uh... Are we going to be sleeping like, together? It's going to be impossible to find each other tomorrow if we all spend the night in our original rooms..."

Ariana reached her room and gently placed Caioni on the second pillow on her bed. After wrapping a blanket around his sleeping figure, she knelt down beside the bed to pray.
As a child, Ariana had been raised in the LDS church, even though her mother and step father didn't ever go. She would sometimes take her brothers with her as she got older, hoping to better them in doing so, but she had been the only one in her family that stayed in the church after high school. She didn't go as often now, but after such a difficult and confusing day, she felt she needed to speak to her God, even if she wasn't sure if he could hear her where she was now.
She got to her feet again with tears in her eyes. Now that Caioni was asleep and couldn't see her tears, she let them roll freely down her cheeks. Climbing into bed and pulling the blankets around her quivering body, she drifted off to sleep with images of her family playing in her head.

Caioni's dreams were tortured. Images of humans played through his head, he was sure they were Ariana's family. Then, Ariana appeared, she looked scared. "Cai! Cai where are you!" She yelled, her eyes jerking around fearfully. A shadow came out of nowhere, moving toward her, its gaping mouth opening wide. "NO! Ariana!" Cai screamed, running toward her. The shadow moved into his path, laughing before turning and swallowing Ariana.

Ariana's scream echoed in his mind as he woke in a cold sweat. He could feel a blanket wrapped around his shoulders and he turned to see that Ariana was safe, asleep nearby. Shaking, he stood up and moved closer, curling up so that the warmth of her body comforted him. His eyes slowly closed again, the image of the shadow still engraved upon his memory.
