{Not a problem hun! You're accepted and added to the front c: In response to your questions, District Three is half-way through their reaping. My other character, Benjamin, is also in District Three. Here is his last post. You can just follow on with Griffon from there ^^ Basically, since there wasn't a female tribute at the time, she's already been chosen, but you can time skip or whatever you want c: Most others are in the reaping process, too.
You don't need to have read that last two books; there won't be many, if any, references to those ^^
And that's fine, I often do that too, so don't worry!
Well.. welcome! :D}

(Alright, thank you, I'll just start with her setting out and go from the reaping and all. ^^ Excuse the overdone post, I tend to do that. ^^')

"I try to make it through my life,
In my way there's you. I try to make
it through these lies, an that's all
I do. Just don't deny it, don't try
to fight it, and deal with it,
'cause that's just part of it.
If you were dead or still alive,
I don't care, I don't care.
Just go and leave this all
behind, because I swear, I don't care."

To Griffon, today was the worst of worst, the time of the reaping. Which on of her district members would be taken away this year? She hadn't a clue. Getting out of her small bed as she pondered the thought, she noticed her reaping clothes that were laid out last night weren't there. Turning, she noticed they were on her bed. Jeans and a t-shirt, simple. Well, this is what she thought would be good. Everyone else usually wore suits and dresses, except for a few. She guessed she was one of the few. Turning, she wondered if she would be chosen. No, you won't be, it's impossible. But then again....

She shook the thought away and walked out of her house, wondering if her mom and Jack had made their way outside already. When she got there she figured the answer was yes. Taking her place with the others her age, she zoned out as the mayor went through the speech, and watched intently as the Capitol lady put her hand in the female bowl. Griffon could feel some of the girls tensing all around her, and she did so as well. She watched as the lady called out the name, and with horror, she recognized it as her own. Griffon Quinn.

What she was going to do then, she hadn't a clue. Dumbstruck, she walked silently and took her place, and watched as the women from the Capitol pulled the name of the boy tribute. Her eyes drifted to the young boy who walked up and took his place beside her, and she wiggled her brows. Can this day get worse? She thought to herself. For some reason, she worried more for the boy she never met than herself now, probably because he was younger than her. Looking out to the crowd, she could see her mom crying and her brother Jack trying to comfort her. I'll try my best guys, for you. She thought to herself confidently. Looking at the Capitol lady, she tried to put on her best smile, but of course it was all fake. What am I going to do...?

Shelby Treshcock

Image
Basics
Username:
iBeebs
Character Name:
Shelby Treshcock
District:
Eleven
Age:
Thirteen
Gender:
Female
Family:
Terri Treshcock (Father, living)
Wenda Treshcock (Mothier, deceased)
Allie Treshcock (Sister, living)
Friends:
None; she's more of a loner.
Allies in arena:
None at the moment.
In-Depth
Personality:
Shelby's usually quiet and self-centered, thinking before speaking in certain situations. She may seem innocent and sweet, but she's also quick witted and smart, able to kill quickly and quietly. She can get fiesty if angered, which often happens. Shelby doesn't take well to strangers, but is willing to make alliances, only if the person gains her trust, as they could easily kill her later. She's always on guard, not jumping at each sound, but cautiously examining each little thing in the world, making sure it doesn't harm anything.
Appearance:
Shelby's pretty tall for her age, measuring at an even 4'8. She has long, wavy, brown hair that goes past her shoulders, curling slightly at the end, but being straighter at the top. She's pretty thin and lanky, having long legs and arms.
Backstory/History:
At the young age of three, her mother fell ill with pneumonia soon after giving birth to her youngest sister, Allie. Shelby helped her father raise little Allie, also caring for her mother. It wasn't long before her mother passed, leaving the young girl with just her father. She continued to help her family as much as possible, working around the district for others for money and trying her best to help her small family make a living.
Flaws:
She's not the strongest person, and doesn't know how to swim. She can't work with large weapons, and isn't a fast runner either. In fact, she depises running.
Strengths:
She's very good with small weapons, espiacially a hand gun. She's very good with plants, with what's edible and what can kill. She's very nimble, although she can't run fast. She can easily clamber up into a tree, barely making a noise.
Preferred weapons:
Mainly a hand gun, but a bow and arrow would work as well, although she isn't good at using it.
Skills & talents:
She can easily tell what a plant can do, since her district is about agriculture. She's better with aiming than anything else, which could come in handy.
Likes:
She likes nature itself, and besides her family, could only care about that itself.
Dislikes:
Water, other people, unless she trusts them completely.
Fears:
Water, mainly. It strikes fear into her heart, as she has terrible nightmares about drowing.
Clothing style:
Nothing much usually. Just a white, dirty T-shirt, with raggety jeans and tennis shoes. She's pretty poor, and doesn't have much to wear, but she makes it through.
Strategy & tactics:
She usually tries to confuse her foes by making tracks, but then disappearing into the brush or trees, her trail disappearing completely. She also uses distace and aim to kill, which they're usually silent, depending on her weapon.

Details
On a scale of one to ten, how fast on their feet is this character?:
Four
How self-confident this character is on a scale of one to ten:
Six
Likely or not likely to survive?:
It depends on the other tributes' skills. Most likely though, she won't survive long.
Did this character have training beforehand?:
No.
What skills, if any, did this character develop while in the training centre and arena?:
None.

Other information
Questions?:
Nothing I can think of.
Other:
This was actually recommended to me by my friend Mockingbird. Can I just say, that I loved the unger Games series and I'm excited to RP here, espiacially since it's a semi-lit. ;3

| Benjamin Elliot Williams |
District Three | Reaping
Ben spaced out as the Mayor read out the Treaty, and gestured for the two Tributes to shake hands. He snapped out of his day-dreaming, and turned to face the female tribute. She had pretty red hair, and she was definitely older and taller than him. He held out his hand, annoyed that it was shaking ever-so-slightly. She probably thought he was a weakling already. He pushed those thoughts aside and waited for her to shake his shaking little hand.

His eyes flickered to the audience again, and saw Rina, her face buried in her tiny little hands. He wanted to tell her that he was alright, that everything would be okay. But he knew that he wasn't alright, and that everything wouldn't be okay at all, and everybody knew it.

The anthem played after the two tributes shook hands, and as the music faded away, a group of Peacekeepers approached. They escorted them to the Justice Building behind the large platform that they were standing on. It was the finest building in the District, which, to be honest, wasn't much. It was like a wooden lodge, he thought.

{Accepted and added to the front, hun! :3 Haha, well, thank you Mockingbird for bringing along a new member and character! ;D}

((Thanks! :3))

Shelby || District Eleven

It had been terrible. Her father couldn't even look at her without crying, so he said quick good-byes and left early. Allie stayed with her the whole time, but her younger sister didn't say a word. Shelby couldn't speak either; she was choking back all of the tears that were welling up inside of her. Shelby could only mutter out a soft farewell before the Peacekeepers led her away, onto the train that would take her to the Capitol, take her closer to those terrible Games that made children pit one another against each other, where innocent lives were spilled just for people's amusement. She was only thirteen! Would she even survive that long? Only time could tell, and Shelby just wanted to get it over with.
Would she die? Would she have to end up killing someone? Would she have to kill the other tribute? Although she didn't know him, she didn't think he would attack her either, unless it was down to just the two of them. Was there another kid her age? Hopefully. Shelby didn't want to be the youngest person out of the tributes. Sure, she was tall for her age, but that didn't make any difference when it came to age. Or skill. What was the possibility of her surviving? Zero to none. That was for sure.
