Personality
Reasonable and insightful in a disconcerting manner for his youth, Viktor is incredibly mature for an eight year old. There's something genuinely disturbing by his lack of interest in such things as play and leisure, something which is exceedingly rare for the fourth child of a poor child, deprived of education and left unsupervised to wreak what havoc he wills. Instead of running around kicking up puddles and gnawing on the various limbs of other servant and Gyptian children, Viktor took to hiding away in his brother Janko's bed (the top one on the bunk) to avoid being disturbed by his other siblings and reading old books salvaged from the dumpsters of a nearby University, most of which have lost their bindings and desecrated in varying manners.
While he is literate, Viktor does not actually know how to write outside of basic transcription. He lacks both the initiative and the creativity to give back to the literary world what it has given to him. There wouldn't be time for creativity anyways, considering that even at the age of eight he is expected to assume basic Servant's duties; what time is not spent bettering himself is spent washing their employer's dishes and helping his family with their domestic responsibilities.

Having been born a slightly disobedient child, Viktor does not willfully defy authority figures but rather fails to notice or acknowledge their legitimacy. Bound to nothing but his own calm sense of industrialism and cause, Viktor can come off unhealthily introverted and harmlessly sociopathic while he is in fact neither. His parents have long since stopped trying to interfere with this but Viktor doesn't care enough to notice this- nor does he have the mind to realize that his siblings and fellow children purposely steer clear of him.

As far as other children are concerned Viktor tends to either ignore them or attempt to martial them in short lived movements which break apart as soon as the other kids realize that the game he's playing isn't very fun. The card carrying 'odd one out', this abberation in Vik's personality doesn't seem to bother him.

Bojana
Viktor's Daemon and natural partner for life. Like most Daemons, she possesses many key character traits which Viktor does not; while she is just as quiet and gentle as her boy, Bojana is far more prone to cunning than he is and shares the same knack for mischief and mayhem as most of the ne'er-do-wells that Viktor has come to encounter as a child growing up in the lower class. This has allowed her to keep Viktor safe out of virtue of her understanding of malcontent, her advice sturdy due to the constant truth that 'to catch a criminal, you need to think like one'.

Unlike most children's Daemons, Viktor's favors a narrow election of forms. While Bojana is in no way close to settling, she does have some pretty consistent shapes: a field mouse, a pigeon, a dikdik or a civet are the most common so far. None of these are comforting to his employers or parents considering the vast majority of servants have dogs for Daemons.

Physical Appearance

Viktor genuinely looks the part of his 'awkward child' nature. Smallbodied and frail looking, he was born the sick one out of the bunch and has developed around this. Influenced by poor quality of life, bad food and little health care has carved his body into an almost twiggy series of shapes. His hands are tiny and his fingers already rough from callousing, his brows and hair ungroomed and wild. Viktor shares the same dark hair as his brother Janko, however it has begun to lighten up as he ages; evident more in the fine hair on his arms and neck, Viktor has already begun to turn a sort of dirty shade of blond-brown. The color doesn't suit him very well, already clashing with his naturally dark eyes; its un-mousiness lends him even more of an unpleasant appearance, something he does not need.

Infallible Loyalty 'For my brother', with the gang; a helping hand

Personality
Simple in both nature and mind, Janko is slightly naive and more than a little ignorant. Despite this he's an incredibly good person, determined and hardworking and armed with a good attitude. While he began life as a Servant to the same man as the rest of his family he was eventually expelled from both his family and the job after being caught shuttling the master's less read works back and forth between their home shelves and Viktor, he ended up a free man and discovered that despite his innate ability to persevere and hope for the future he was in no way bound to obedience or emotional dependence. The discovery of his own independent streak was refreshing, leading Janko to adopt a house-to-house lifestyle in which he took shelter in whatever place would offer him a bed in exchange for remedial grunt work.

With strong beliefs in family ties, even without the support of his parents and siblings Janko has remained faithful to his household. While he may not be allowed on the master's property he has made a habit of leaving what money he can scrounge up for his siblings. This generosity is genuinely borne of caring and not out of some desire to be invited back or wanted; instead, Janko just wants to know that he's doing his part to feed his little siblings. Particular care is given on his part to Viktor due to the small boy's strange behavior, but Janko has a solid understanding of the younger boy's schedule and can be depended on to know where Viktor is with enough acuity to (usually) keep him out of trouble.

Considering how sweet and generally orthodox his personality is and how much attention (both emotionally and physically) he pays to the women in his life, it comes as a shock to most who know him well to discover that he is in fact homosexual- something which the Magisterium certainly would not support. A dedicated and patient romantic, Janko has only had one boyfriend in his life; but one boyfriend is still a whole lot more than no girlfriends and the prospect of changing the situation isn't particularly appealing to the boy.

Senka
Forward and determined, Senka is everything that Janko is not. As firm in personality as her human counterpart, Senka takes Janko's personality and inverts it in a manner which is perfectly balanced (as is to be expected) and complimentary for both. Restricted to only two forms, a red squirrel and a ratel, Senka is very nearly settled. The ratel is by far the most prevalent. Senka has been known to stick up for Janko to degrees which occasionally get him into serious trouble considering that he has been known to forge very subservient relationships with others and often is too passive to handle the messes she creates.

Physical Appearance

While Janko shares his brother's color palate nearly to a T, the resemblance ends at hair, eyes and skin. He lacks Viktor's fine features and instead is possessed of a very fitting but much less elegant homeliness; Janko genuinely looks like a Servant in nearly every way. His fingers are large and blunt in a friendly sort of way, palms roughed from a life of heavy lifting and constant work. He is thick bodied and of slightly below average height, stunted from too little food in too crucial a point in childhood development. There is a constant warmness in everything about him, the way he smiles, looks, moves. Moreover Janko dresses the part of his good nature; constantly in worn jackets and wool sweaters, he keeps as neat as he can while still living on the cheap. To simply look at him, one would not immediately realize he was homeless.

Name → "Shea Aurore Silva" pronounced Shaya, her first name means Hawk-like; graceful, free and courageous - which is true. Her second name, Aurore, means Dawn.

Nickname → "Not much to shorten, I guess" Shea's name[s] aren't made for nicknames, her first is too short, her second too hard to make a nickname out of, apart from the fact that hardly anyone knows it.

Age → "Thirteen and a half" Shea is almost exactly thirteen years old, though she may be seen as older on a few rare occasions, when she does her hair and tries hard with her appearance.

Gender → "Um, a girl?" pretty easy to see, as Shea has a pretty woman-like figure already, at her young age, not to mention the pitch of her voice, higher than that of boy, or her slim build.

Class → "Law enforcers daughter" Shea comes from the class of the law-enforcers, being the daughter of one of the higher-ranking officers.

Alliance →"The gang, I guess" Shea is part of the gang, though she likes to keep her distance from the rest of the members.

Daemon → "Kaylo" Sheas daemon Kaylo hasn't quite settled his form yet, though is starting to change less, and stay in his preferred forms of a Hawk or a Lion. He is quite clever and able to make decisions on the spur of the moment, often seeing things she does not, and giving her [sometimes very much needed] advice. Through this he is very proud and not always in good terms with his joint soul, for his decisions aren't always right, and Kaylo isn't this type to admit it. Nevertheless, he obviously cares about Shea, and the worst thing he can think of is to be apart from her, separated for Dust - the nightmare of any daemon. Overall, Kaylo and Shea have a love-hate relationship, and even though they often fight, its in a loving, and non-aggressive way most of the time.

Starting at the top...
Shea has striking red hair, which immediately pulls unwanted attention to herself and sometimes even attracts small children who ask her if it is dyed, or want to touch it. Because of this, Shea prefers to hide it under a hat or a hood, and thus possesses many of these. It is complemented by her lightly-tanned skin, and the darker freckles on her nose and cheeks. Her eyes, a vivid green, that stand out against her pale skin, are often half-covered by her fringe, with she secures with pins to keep it out of the way. They gleam in the sunlight, and look much lighter than in winter, when they dull, along with her tan, along with her hair, which darkens slightly. In the summer, the opposite happens, and her hair lightens.

Moving down,
Shea presents a large birthmark on her left shoulder, along with a small scars from an illness. Her arms are fairly muscular from carrying around a few things for her father, who allows her to help with his work occasionally. This gives her a slightly bulkier appearance than the usual thirteen year-old. Her upper body shows no other special features, apart from a scar across her ribs from a dog with knocked her down when she was younger. Her legs, also muscular, from running around town with heavy objects and asking her father for training. Her feet are small for her age, and look a little strange supporting her tall self.

Distrustful. Shea doesn't trust easily, especially not the people in her gang - who knews if they aren't traitors who will bring them to the gobblers if they can? It takes a lot to win her trust, and after that, it is easily lost. At only the slightest suspect, Shea will break the trust again. Even if she doesn't have any evidence whatsoever, she always suspects that there may be something treacherous about everyone. Because of this, she generally keeps her distance to the group, though she is still part of it.

Confident. She is undoubtedly confident, though it doesn't mean she likes being the center of attention - though she doesn't mind it, and isn't afraid to talk to large crowds of people at once. Actually, Shea prefers to work in the background, unnoticed by the others, doing what she can to help her group. Her confidence helps her achieve things she didn't know she could, just because she tries. When questioned, she won't hide, and state her intentions openly, preferring to be honest with others, than to risk being suspected of treachery - which would hit her hard.

Innocent. Despite her emotionless state, Shea has the ability and the looks to look innocent. Which favours her relationship to other people, even though she doesn't trust - and sometimes also makes other people feel a will to protect her, the small, red-haired girl she is. Other than that, Shea can do some pretty bad things with a smile of Innocence on her face, which she keeps until the trouble about the incident is over.

Honest. For her, lying is the worst thing you can do, except when its really important to protect someone else. Shea prefers to say the truth, even if it gets her into trouble more often than not, and won't try to achieve something through lies. If caught in a bad act, she will immediately admit it, not bothering to hide what she has done, even though she will put on an innocent mask until she is caught by someone with proof of her doings.

Emotionless. For Shea, it is easy to hide her emotions, and remain strong, at least to the outside. If something threatens to overwhelm her, however, she will prefer to hide, than to show it, as she sees strong emotion as a weakness. Especially uncontrolled. This, however, makes her [sometimes strongly] scorn people [though not openly] who let themselves be controlled by their emotions instead of logical thinking. Obviously, Shea isn't really emotionless, just very capable of hiding them.

Interested & Observant. Shea is very interested in everything and everyone. She is a wacher, and notes the behaviour of various people, form the baker when he burns his finger on hot bread to the rich ladies when they accidently dip make up in their eyes. Want to tell someone about technology or history? Ask Shea. She’s an avid listener when it comes to those things, eager to learn, and someday maybe use it against the gobblers, unless they get her first.

Psychical description

No Bartholomew has ever been ugly before. Though some personalities might have been rotten, their skin hadn’t shown a mark on it.

Raphael is no different than his family, though he doesn’t share their doll-like appearance. He stands at exactly 5’3, and while it sometimes look like he weighs as much as a feather, his actual weight is 183 pounds. It might not be spot on, but he is still healthy enough. Raphael’s body is naturally made to be tiny and brittle. His skin is a pale white, to an unhealthy degree. He has small hands, with fingers almost as thin as the bone underneath, and his nails are well taken care of. His palms are burned, a little, from an accident in the kitchens when he was younger. There are a few tiny, flat moles on his face, and many others on his back. These make him a little strange to his family, as he never attempts to hide them. The Bartholomew family is very big on appearing to be prefect, both personality and appearance wise. They hide their flaws almost perfectly, having had many years of practice. Raphael does this as well, to an extent. However, he isn’t as vain as the rest of them and as such, while he does use some light cosmetics to hide his other blemishes, his moles are left untouched.

At his age, Raphael’s features are still quite androgynous, even leaning towards feminine a little. He has large, doe-like eyes that would surely look a little awkward on his face as he matures, and dark brown irises reminiscent of a young deer's eyes. Despite their darkness, they are very expressive, and he can never hide his emotions when it comes to it. Raphael has a button nose, small and slightly upturned. His cheekbones aren’t very well defined, and overall his face has a smooth upside-down egg shape. He has a thin upper lip, and a slightly fuller lower one. He has this “groove” under his lips that makes his lower lip stands out more, given the look that he is constantly pouting.

Raphael has platinum blonde, pin straight hair, that has its long strands evenly and neatly cut somewhere at the middle of the ear. Very short hairs are left underneath that. He keeps his bangs parted on the right, so that they don’t completely cover his whole forehead.

Personality

Raphael is, usually, the perfect little gentleman. He says ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, and has his social etiquette rules ingrained in his head to the point that he almost does them automatically. He knows how to treat a lady, and is neither rude nor disrespectful towards people of authority. His table manners are exemplary. But then, that all comes crashing down when his words get away from him. Raphael can have a horrible mouth. He is blunt, terribly so, and never sugarcoats his words. He doesn’t know when enough is enough, and could go on insulting a person until they are in tears. He doesn’t even do it consciously, some of the time. His time spent fending off females, even from such a young age, has made it almost like a reflex for him, and he isn’t shy about using his only defense. While being weak in body, he makes up for it when his attitude comes out of hiding.

Raphael is rather spoiled. Having had everything in life presented to him on a silver platter, from his clothes to his food, makes him be pretty picky with things. For example, he wouldn’t eat a certain dish until it has been prepared exactly to his liking. Until everything is as he has imagined it to be, there is no swaying his opinion or moving him from his spot. Though he tries not to act too spoiled around others, having been taught that it wouldn’t get him very far in life, he can’t help but expect people to treat him as he was treated at home. Getting taken by G.O.B was certainly an eye-opener for him, though, and while some of his spoiled tendencies do have a habit of rearing their ugly head every once in a while, he has wizened up considerably.

Like the rest of his family, Raphael is quite vain. It isn’t exactly narcissism, though he often exhibits traits that border on it. He hates it when he is not in the best condition, appearance wise, and hates it even more when there are others around to see him like that. Though he has some psychical traits that he considers natural -like his moles- and therefore doesn't hide, he does his best to get rid of everything else, if only temporarily. He dislikes dirt, and while he is a little more open to the great outdoors and roughhousing, having lived in the mountains with his rather playful Daemon, he never stays dirty for too long.

Raphael does have a kind side to him, despite all of his faults. He can be very affectionate, but only to people that he is close to. He is the most comfortable around Abelard, and can’t bear to have his Daemon out of his sight, even if for a few minutes. He doesn’t have to fake his politeness at all, especially around other males. Females, on the other hand, are a bit of a touchy subject to him. His family has had a long history of arranged marriages, which was also how his parents came together. But while their union turned out to be the most wonderful thing to happen to them, Raphael can’t stand the thought that he himself will have to marry one of those girls in the future. He shies away from every female around his age, and has done so ever since meeting his first “potential wife”. It is not that he hates girls; he just dislikes the fact that he will one day be pushed into a marriage, should he ever come back home.

Raphael is very detail oriented. When younger, he was given the choice of taking either music or art classes. Even since choosing the study the arts, his attention to detail has risen. While he is by no means a prodigy, nor can he paint all that well yet, he does have a rather active imagination. Floral landscapes are his speciality, so to say, as is painting pottery. But he does not need to hold a brush to a canvas to be able to pay attention to details. He notices the small things in life, those which might have escaped others. He can also judge emotions somewhat well, and in the future he might even be able to determine people's actions by catching onto their quirks.

Daemon

Raphael’s treasured other half is Abelard, a Daemon that oddly shares his gender. While having a Daemon of the same gender doesn’t happen very often in the world, or in Raphael's family, it is not unheard of. Abelard takes on a few forms, none of which he stays in for too long. Some of them do contradict themselves in appearance, though his personality is constant throughout each form. The ram, a symbol which sometimes means authority and leadership, is one of his forms. Abelard is a protector, standing in the way of those seeking to harm his other half, and defending Raphael when the boy can’t defend himself. His other form, which does contrast with the stocky body and twisted horns of the ram, is the antelope. This form stands for speed, quick reaction and keen sight. Abelard is a helper, one who aids Raphael in escaping, and noticing details. His final favored form is a small brown bear. Abelard usually either takes on the form of a ram or a bear, but is more seen in the latter. Abelard is friendly, much more than Raphael, but also holds a stance of caution, ready to either fight or flee. He is more fight oriented, though, unlike Raphael, and can become rather aggressive towards certain people and Daemons. He is just as close to Raphael as the boy is to him, and would do anything to protect his other half. However, he does know when enough is enough, and is always ready to flee if the situation calls for it.

name. ❄ Emmaline Mae Warrington is the name, and don't even think about forgetting it. Emmaline was named after her mother, who passed away not long after she turned three. She's always loved her name, especially her middle name, but she very rarely lets anyone call her Mae. Her father generally uses her full name when she is in trouble. If there is any meaning to her first, middle or last names, Emmaline doesn't know about it. Her father never spoke much about why they named her what they did.

nickname. ❄ Emmaline has many nicknames, Emm, Em, Emi, Emma, but out of all of those, she prefers Emm and Emi. She doesn't like it when people call her "Mae" or "Warrington." She strongly believes that if her parents wanted people to call her that, they would have made Mae her first name. As for Warrington, she just doesn't like being called by her last name, particularly because her father's name is well-known among the merchant class. After after growing farther and farther apart from her father, she wishes him to remain in the dark when it comes to affairs of the gang. Part of this is because she worries about destroying their family name.

gender. ❄ Emmaline is obviously a female. Her mother always hoped that her second child would be a girl, because she wished to lavish and spoil her daughter, but alas, she got her wish but did not live long enough to lavish her daughter. Either way, Emm is obviously a female, I don't know how you could miss that fact. Her petite frame, long hair and other girlish attributes obviously point out the fact that she is female.

age. ❄ Emmaline just turned 16, and she is quite proud of that fact. She was quite excited to turn 16, in part because she knew her father wouldn't insist on being around as much, leaving her and Mink to their own devices, although, this didn't factor into it much, her father is a very busy man, and they never have been close. She tends to spend time on her own, but after being nabbed, she quite prefers the company of others, mostly because she knows that she can't fend off the gobblers all by her lonesome.

class. ❄ Emmaline comes from a long line of merchants. Her father is a merchant shipper, and is often away on business now that she is old enough to stay home with the maid, not that that stopped him from leaving her alone before. In all reality, her father doesn't have much time for her, and after the Gobblers took her their bond grew weaker instead of stronger... but anyhow. Her family although well off monetarily, is not wealthy enough to be considered anything but merchants. This status has never really bothered Emmaline, considering she isn't poor, but she isn't extremely rich either. She almost prefers to be more of the "middle class." Because of this, she has lived a comfortable life, but not as lavish as the wealthier inhabitants. She's sure that if she would have known that wealth, she would have hated to become a merchant.

allegiance. ❄ Emmaline has aligned herself with the gang. She was taken by the gobblers when she was fourteen, and didn't meet up with the gang right away. She discovered them over time - it's all quite complicated. More will most likely come later.



personality. ❄ Emmaline's personality is quite mysterious to most, including the girl herself. The only one that doesn't seem shocked by Emm's personality changes is Mink, which most have come to accept, including Emmaline herself. The best way to describe her personality is to say that she is either hot or cold. There is very rarely an "inbetween" so to speak. On one end of the spectrum she can be very shy and timid. This most likely stems from the fact that when she was younger, her father loved to show her off to all of his merchant friends. Growing up without a mother, and around older men took it's toll on Emmaline's outgoing side. Her father had a terrible temper, and believed that Emmaline should always act like a mature young lady - so any time she stepped out of line or spoke without being spoken to, she was punished by her hot-blooded father.
Emmaline did happen to inherit some of her father's temper, but she also inherited her mother's calm, collected lady-like personality, which shows far more than the temper. It takes a lot to set her off, but once you've done something that in her eyes is unacceptable, she goes off the deep end. Now, I'm not saying that she throws temper tantrums, no, although there is quite a bit of screaming, usually yelling. The outburst usually lasts a couple of minutes, sometimes only seconds, before she retreats into a sort of "simmering, stewing cold-shoulder" kind of anger. She is amazingly good at holding grudges, and once you get on her bad side it takes a lot of pleading for you to get off.
Generally, once Emmaline gets to know you, she will open up, although she is never completely open with anyone except Mink. She can be vary hard to read, mostly because of the multiple personalities. She has a few good friends, nothing more, and no one that she considers a best (human) friend. Once she learns to trust you (which usually doesn't take long, she is incredibly trusting,) she becomes easily excited, jubilant, and outgoing. This sometimes leads her to make decisions without thinking them through. She can be overly thoughtful at times, especially if she is around people that she doesn't know that well. But with people that she does know, she tends to make snap decisions without thinking about consequences. Around people who are more than mere acquaintances, but most likely less than good friends, Emmaline is outgoing, bubbly and full of laughter. It is unbelievably easy to make her laugh - she will burst out laughing even at the simplest of things. But this also leads her into a bit of trouble - she sometimes laughs at things that the speaker didn't mean for it to be funny, or sometimes others don't find it quite as funny as she does, which, makes it noticeably awkward.

physical description. ❄ Emmaline is of an average height. She stands at 5'6" taller than most, considering she is sixteen, but she believes that she is done growing. She likes her height, she loathes being too short or too tall, she likes to blend in. Emmaline has long blonde hair that falls in waves to the underside of her shoulder blades. The longer her hair gets, the more wavy it becomes, the curls become tighter until, eventually, they look like elongated ringlets. But it is very rare for Emm to let her hair get that long - it takes much longer to style and is a huge pain when it gets wet. She generally avoids brushing it when it is wet, simply because that results in a very unflattering mess. After having wavy hair for sixteen years, she has come to know what looks good and what doesn't work for her. Most times, if she is feeling lazy, she will tie her hair up in a ribbon.
Emmaline is very fair skinned. She doesn't tan, she burns, quite easily in fact. Therefore, she has to be careful about how long she stays out in the sun, because there have been several times where she has overestimated the time she could spend in the sun without getting burned, and in the end, she was fried to a crisp. But when she isn't sunburnt, her skin is actually very pretty. She has what most would call "cream and roses" skin. When she blushes, it is very noticible because she's so pale.
Emm is very petite, thin to the point where she looks fragile. She has a very weak stomach, and after being taken by the gobblers, she developed a horrible case of anxiety. Because of this, she doesn't eat much, and there are times where she goes without eating at all. She could probably overcome this obstacle, but no one really has ever told her to start eating more. As for her build, she is fairly slender. Long arms and thin wrists make her the perfect pianist. She has been playing since she was little, about five years old.
Because of her smallish build, she is fast on her feet and incredibly good at running distances. The only thing that is to her disadvantage is that she is hindered in hand to hand combat. She is tiny, so it's easy for someone to knock her down. Flight is her best ally. She's known this for quite some time, and therefore spends much of her day running long distances at varying speeds to keep up her speed and stamina.

family. ❄ Emmaline was the only child of two merchant class parents. Her father was often away on business, and didn't have much time for his daughter or his wife. The latter quickly declined in health after giving birth to Emmaline. Her mother passed away when she was four years old - Emm doesn't remember her much. As for her father, he stayed home for a while, but after he found a suitable maid, he went back to work. The older she grew, the less she saw him. Once she went missing, taken by the gobblers, she thought that he would start to spend more time with her, but alas, she was wrong. Instead, the bond between them grew even frailer, in part because he views himself as a failure of a father, and also because she feels that he doesn't understand what she went through when she was taken. All in all, Emm's relationship with her father is a strained one, although deep down she does love him dearly and would be crushed if anything happened to him.

species. ❄ Mink has, for the most part, settled into his form as a raccoon, which he highly prefers. But there are times, mostly when he is agitated that he changes forms rapidly. His second most common form is a lemur. His other forms include (but are not limited to) an Eastern grey squirrel, and a Tasmanian devil.
physical description. ❄ In his raccoon form, which is the most common, and probably the only one that will be described here considering the fact that he is extremely close to settling, Mink looks like any other average raccoon, except he isn't quite as scrawny and he is certainly not rabid. Mink is short and stalking, and considerably better feed than most, meaning that he is a little on the pudgy side. Head to hindquarters, Mink measures roughly 25 inches long, and stands 23 inches at the shoulder. Mink's most noticeable trait is the black "face mask" a strip of black fur that covers his eyes and part of his muzzle, which contrasts sharply with the surrounding face coloring. He has slightly rounded ears which are bordered by cream colored fur. He has a long and bushy tail, which alternates between darker and lighter rings. Mink has a dense undercoat which amounts for roughly 90 percent of his fur, which insulates against cold weather. The furs are roughly 2-3 inches long. Mink, like other raccoons, has smaller, thinner legs compared to the rest of his compact body. Because of this, Mink is incapable of running or jumping long distances, but he can stand on his hind legs to look around, and excels at swimming, often capable of staying in the water for several hours.
personality. ❄ Mink is unbelievably shy, especially around other daemons. He isn't one for large groups and likes it best when Emm is only around a few other people. But in spite of this, he has developed a very close bond with Emmaline, and is incredibly protective of her. Over time, mostly because of the gobblers, Mink has developed a horrible temper and has an ever-growing distrust of adults. He has been known to snap at adults, and sometimes other children. Depending on the person, this sometimes results in a tap on the head or a soft chuckle from Emm. Mink, much like Emmaline is very good at holding grudges, but Emm tends to be more forgiving than her Daemon counterpart.
Mink, like any other raccoon is extremely inquisitive, and excels at getting himself, and Emmaline out of sticky situations. He has a love for adventure and is incredibly mischievous. He often enjoys stealing things from both children and adults, whether or not he knows you. Oddly enough, he has a penchant for tea, cream cheese and cat food. Mink is fascinated by shiny things, which he usually manages to snatch out of the garbage (and sometimes out of someones pocket) if Emmaline isn't looking. In the house, Mink has a secret hoard of these shiny trinkets, which he has cleverly hidden under a loose floorboard. Incredibly naughty, Mink drives most people nuts, simply because he is just so bad. But most of the time, people find him cute enough to forgive him.
Because of his love for trouble, Mink tends to jump into a situation without thinking it through. He can sometimes be very careless and is prone to making snap decisions. He is very sneaky, and is good at getting away unnoticed, although he has been caught several times by people who are faster, and more agile than he is.

--Dante is a rather attractive young man, with much of the features of his mother, and father. He has the same facial features of his mother, but similar eye and hair as his father. His eye's are a bright golden, amber type color, but not hazel, golden. His hair is soft and somewhat long, with a little wave to it, it's dark shiny black color is very noticeable. His skin is tanned not from the sun, but from his family's heritage, he rarely goes outside in the sun.
He's very tall, and thin boy, though his weight is average, and his muscle mass is a little over average. His arms are tones, and ab's can partially be seen. He takes after his father, who was 6'5, and Dante is predicted to get to about that height.
As for clothes, he wears natural colors, like most others, grey's, blacks, browns, tans and sometimes whites. He tends to usually wear fancier attire, ties and casual jackets, though he does enjoy the usual comfy pants and a plain tee.
He's appearance is a calm, casual, and slightly wealthy one, though he seem's pretty nice, his personality is not represented by his appearance at all. .--

--Dante's life has been from the few of peer's, perfect, which makes his obnoxiously rude, and vain personality, quite normal, though it isn't as it appears.
Dante was born into the lovely household of Lylia, and Quinton, members of the magisterium class, a religious and wealthy family, with a good amount of reputation to uphold, as important members. His mother died a few day's after birth, loss of blood was too extreme for her, and she passed very peacefully at night while Dante was asleep in her arms, and Quinton, holding her hand tightly. It devastated Quinton, the women he loved passed, and now he had to raise a child on his own. He pulled himself together, and proved to be a good, but stern parent, always looking for perfection. Dante grew up, feeling as if he was better than everyone else, as his father acted the way in front of him. So, from an early age, it began to shape is personality. His father also gave him less and less attention the older he got, by the age of 7, he barely ate meals with him any longer.
As a teen, he had little to no friends, since is rude, heartless personality was very obvious, from the snide comments, to the rude remarks about others being below him. Though he didn't mind his lack of social life, he began to focus on school, learning and reading, and researching. His only true companion was Zyla, his carbon copy of a daemon, they shared the same personality, and outlook on life, they should get anything, when ever they want, because of their place in society. he was turning into such a slob. he wouldn't get with in 12 feet of a peasant. This feeling continued to grow, along with his growing hatred of his father.
He slowly detached himself from his father, and other's he was in contact with , planning to run away. The night before he left, he said his god byes to his father, who was furious with this, and threatened to detach him from the family if he left. Dante shook his head, angrily, and left, with out a word. His father shed a tear before closing the door, and going back to work.
Dante was not only obnoxiously vain, rude and selfish, he also began to loose compassion for other people, he thought to much of himself that no one seemed to matter anymore, just him and Zyla.
While walking to a near by town, he encountered DOB members unknowingly giving his age and situation to them. They took advantage of his stupity and took him and Zyla back to the head quarters. On the way into the build, he realized his mistake.
Now, his personality was shaded again, he wouldn't trust others, not even himself after that.
He was helpless, and could do nothing against the 2 dob members, though he put up a fight. He threw punches and yelled as they tried to take Zyla away from him, he screamed and launched himself at them, desperately trying to save his only friend, and daemon. He was then knocked out, and thrown in a empty cell, where he awoke and balled, realizing again what he had done.
They gave him a deal, if he were to bring other's to them, they'd give her back. So, his motive is to get her back, and he would do so no matter what.

His personality as of now is mainly rude, desperate, vain, and now extremely aggressive. He will explode on any questioning of him, and his motives. He also lacks all compassion, and cares nothing for others, but himself.

This is something fairly common in the world so is nothing truly important to worry about. However, Shay is a very cynical being. Her distrust of human-nature is nothing to scoff at. Nobody but Armand has, or ever will, see her full trust placed in them. That's just not the way Shay's brain goes about thinking. People can't be fully trusted in her world. This is just a reality of Shay.

Her trust issues may extend from the fact that Shay herself isn't very trustworthy. She does not do things because they're right or wrong. When Shay does something, she does it because the outcome will benefit her in some way or another. She believes all people tend to think this way too. Thus her cynicism was born. Not only is Shay cynical, but she can also be quite pessimistic. Now this pessimism isn't as strong as her cynicism, but is something worthy enough to note. She does have her moments in time of optimism but not enough to balance out her underlying pessimistic nature.

Despite all this distrust inside of Shay, she can be really friendly. Enough so to make others do a double-take when she does something purely out of self-preservation or self-indulgence. She can be sarcastic, but not overly so, just enough to lighten the mood in a room or get a laugh out of someone. She'll actually listen to someone talk and offer them advice on their situation. It's very bizarre how much she contradicts and contrasts herself. This makes it difficult to determine where the real Shay is hiding and which act is merely a facade. Sometimes even Armand has difficulty determining the sincerity behind Shay's actions and personality.

She's 5'3" at the normal weight of 114 pounds. She has a small frame, better for running rather than fighting. She has a sharp jawline and large doe-eyes that are a warm honey color with underlying tones of green. Her dark brown hair falls just past her shoulders, usually wavy, though occasionally straight. She's been compared to a doll, something she's not exactly happy about.

If given the chance to do something crazy, Casper will jump at it. He says the most inapt things at the most inopportune moments. He doesn't particularly think, or care for that matter, about others' wants or opinions. Casper is Casper, and he'll keep being himself despite anything one may say against him. His extreme klutziness only adds to the tremendous discombobulation of a personality that he possesses.

It seems that sometimes Casper says things if only to get a reaction out of people, but there is a heart beneath all of that snark. He can be a caring individual when it suits him, as well as well-mannered and cordial. Actually, when he's not being a completely outlandish goofball, he can be quite friendly. One could also argue he's friendly when he is being a goofball as well, but he has a nasty habit of messing with people. He would make a extraordinary puppet-master, because he already enjoys manipulating actual beings, whether they be human or otherwise.

This tends to go hand-in-hand with saying something only to see the reaction. He's like a small child that way. But all that considered, Casper knows when to drop the jokes and put on a stern expression. If there is a matter of great importance, he'll put on his grown-up face and handle the situation with the utmost seriousness. So it is possible for him to act as an adult and not just a large child, but this side of him isn't seen as often as others would like.

Average height (5'10"), weight (153), and muscle mass (toned but not overly so). Casper's hair is either dark blonde or brown depending on the light. It leans more on the long side and is generally a messy mop of tangles, or flopped atop his head in an uncaring fashion. His eyes are a light gray-green color, like fog covering a freshly fallen leaf. He's not one that would normally stand out in a crowd. Yet he still manages to do so. Perhaps it's his massive mop of tangled hair, or his wrinkled clothes, but Casper always manages to stand out while being average. This could also be contributed to his personality, or his inability to walk without tripping.

Quiana Rorey Petulengro

Legal Name: Quiana Rorey Petulengro (pronounced Key-ah-na, meaning 'star' or 'queen' in Farsi.). Petulengro is her adopted family's name. Rorey is her biological surname.
Called: Kiki by friends, and Quiana Smith by outsiders. (An explanation of Gypsy public and private names here. Yes, I know Gyptians aren't Gypsies.)

Appearance:Quiana is a mix of races, but whatever melting pot produced her left her with smooth black hair, lovely dark tan skin, deep brown eyes, and a strong build. She is far, far stronger than she looks, and promises to become still stronger as she grows. She's not what you'd call beautiful, exactly. Just pretty, tough, and above all, alive. She almost never stops moving, and when she does, it's because she's sound asleep. She's about four feet, eleven inches tall and big for her age. She weighs more than a hundred and twenty pounds, and it's almost all muscle. She has calluses everywhere, even where you wouldn't think it was possible to get calluses, like her elbows. Her shoulder. Her big toe. (It's 'cause I've been working since I was five! When ya' little, you've got to think ov all sorts ov ways to push on levers and hold ontah tools.) She's got an accent, a sort of lazy drawl that creeps in whenever she's sure that people aren't listening to her. She's a gyspy by both blood and adoption (long story), and as such, doesn't have a lot of the control and quiet attitude that the people in the city are required to have to survive. She is noisy, active, and forth-right. Generally, she wears whatever cast-offs the rest of the family gave her, but right now she only has one set of clothes: Tough, stained and rough canvas pants held up with a braided rope belt, a brightly dyed and somewhat garish shirt, and a warm coat that's more like a fur lined blanket with sleeves than a smart jacket. She wears jewellery (just two bracelets, and earrings now) and, back home, has an enormous collection of earrings, choker necklaces and arm bands. (Most of them are, frankly, junk. Gilt covered tin and glass gems.)

History: Ki-ki was adopted into a Gyptian family after she was orphaned at age seven by an epidemic which took her parents, younger brother and older sister. She was, before the plague came through, learning to fix airships and other mechanical contrivances with her father, and learning to cook from her mother. After fixing a Gyptian's houseboat (which had a nasty leak), her family became fast friends with the Gyptian family, and even became honorary parts of the family. She loved spending time with her Gyptian friends (including her older adopted-brother, who managed to escape the Gobblers.) Then, when she was orphaned, it seemed natural to fall into life with the Gyptians. She loves her mama, papa and adopted sisters and brothers (five siblings in total) and would do anything to protect them.

One day, when she was out playing with her siblings, when the Gobblers came and kidnapped her and two of her siblings. Her eldest brother and youngest sister escaped, but her other siblings were all taken. They were taken up to the North, trying to hold their family together, but they were separated. One brother was severed from his daemon, she knows, but the two others... she had no idea what happened. She remembers being strapped in, her daemon going frantic in his cage, and then a bright light, and then... she managed to break free in the confusion and escaped. The Gyptian rescue party brought her back, but her family is missing. She decided to slip away with the other children to find her family and the siblings she misses that - for all she knows - are dead, alive, or severed.

Current situation: She's in Oxford, with the other children, hiding from the Gyptians and the Gobblers both. She has two missing siblings, one sibling who was severed and rescued by the Gyptians, and two siblings that were never taken that are also missing with the rest of her family. She has her daemon, Behnam, with her.

At a glance, personality: Quiana is competent and busy. She hates having nothing to do, and will actually make jobs for herself if there's nothing she has to do. She gets nervous and worried if she hasn't got anything to do, and keeps a lump of string in her pocket which she braids and unbraids in complex patterns when she hasn't got anything to do. She's cheerful, enthusiastic, and always ready for adventure, although she'll do her best to keep people out of really dangerous situations. She's kind, the sort to bake someone who's depressed a whole plate of cookies just for them.

Her only real nasty point is her protectiveness, and dislike of laziness. She just doesn't understand how anyone could ever want to take a break and do nothing productive. It's just weird. She's also not much of a one for book learning (How do ya' know if it's true if ya' nevah tried it?). She loves maps, diagrams and talking with smart, experienced people though, and purposefully gets 'lost' at byanropings, ending up chatting with an elder craftsman from another family. Her other nasty point is her over-protectiveness. You do not touch her family. You do not get near her friends. No one can get anywhere near her daemon, and he has a nasty habit of turning into something huge and snarly whenever she feels that those she loves are in trouble.

True personality: Quiana has lost so much and so many people who were dear to her, that she's terrified of losing someone else. She's had two families torn away from her, and almost lost her daemon. She loves fiercely and intensely, and would go crazy and die within a few days if she lost Behnam. The reason she's busy is because she thinks that being prepared and careful will avert danger. She's protective, and everything she does ties into protecting others.

Skills:Ki-ki is an excellent mechanic, fixer and kludger. She's got a talent for making things work, even if they're this close to collapsing into a pile of rusting shards, canvas sails and wooden spars. She strong for her size, and a nasty, berserk-type fighter when those she loves are threatened. She's also an excellent cook. Her cranberry sauce pie is to die for.

Behnam
Form: Very unsettled. Tends towards handy critters (like spider monkeys and raccoons) and protective guard animals (like mastiffs and sheepdogs). He has been known, in dangerous situations, to become a lion complete with mane.
Personality: While Ki-ki is brash, brave and cheerful, Behnam seems constantly convinced that bad things are going to happen to them. He is shy, timid, but firm and brave enough to protect her and her friends. He is generally glum and melancholy, and, to be totally blunt, emo. Quiana is constantly trying to cheer him up, but he still can't forget those he loved, like the daemon's of Ki-ki's birth mother. He tends to watch over the other daemons, almost never joins in the play, and sleeps so close to his person that there's hardly a gap between her skin and his fur. The only time he seems happy is when he's busy doing something like fixing something with her and making them all safer and happier.
Other: Behnam: بهنام masculine, Iranian. It means "reputable" (literally "good name") in Persian.

Her first name, Ellie, is a variant of Alice, which is of German origin. Pronounced 'El-e', it's a simple name, and was chosen not because its meanings - 'fierce warrior,' 'exalted,' 'noble,' 'foreign,' (I think most would agree none of these can describe Ellie) - fit her, but because her parents, quite simply, liked its sound and thought the name itself was made for their baby girl. She has no middle name, as her parents didn't see the need to give her one; they themselves didn't have them. Her last name came, as tradition goes, from her father. Ellie is all ready a short name, but some people shorten it even further, by calling her nicknames such as 'El,' or 'Eli.' Ellie is satisfied with her name, often referring to it fondly as 'simple but sweet.' She's never wished for another name, even though she compliments others' frequently.

Ellie is ten years and six and a half months old; she'll turn eleven in due time, when it reaches her birthday of April 17th. Blue eyes starred by almost colorless lashes dominate Ellie's narrow face, made to look even thinner framed as it is by her light brown hair. Her build is thin and light, and somehow sharp - angular shoulders and knees stand out prominently on her body. Ellie holds herself slightly uncertainly, as if she's unsure where she's to go when she moves along. And to be honest, she isn't sure where she's going - she's blind. Thanks to an accident and faulty medical care when she was younger, she permanently lost her vision when she was approximately eight. This accounts for the apparent indifferent expression that's always on her countenance; eyes are known to be part of what makes the face so expressive, and as Ellie can only see different variations in the light, she finds it difficult to portray her emotions using her gaze. To tell the truth, most find it hard to look in Ellie's face. Her eyes are so lifeless; very much a zombie-like stare.

To describe her facial features in more detail: she has a snub nose and cheeks hollowed by hunger, with a thin upper lip and a fuller bottom one hued a light pink, and seemingly always chapped by the wind or the humidity. Her eyebrows are naturally formed in the desired arch, and she has a rather pointed chin than is usual. Her hands are often rough and callused, as far from the soft skin of the aristocrats that can be found. She has tiny wrists, and diminutive sized hands, along with stubby fingers that are surprisingly nimble. All in all, her body seems very small, shrunk by continued hunger. She's lucky if she has one full meal each week, which is the cause for her apparent frailty.

PERSONALITY ; Easily offended, prone to over-thinking things, and self-serving.
In a world in which most everything is dark, words are everything. Words are what add to description to Ellie's surroundings, along with her sense of touch and smell; perhaps that's why she's so careful articulating herself verbally. A conversation with this ten-year-old is notorious for being challenging, due to her habit of pausing for as much as five minutes at a time in order for her to string together a good sentence in response, and her touchiness at any mention of something that only someone with sight can see. Some find it impressive that one considered to be so young can concentrate at one thing at a time, and not only that, but so deeply ponder it. This is another bad habit of her's - over-thinking so many things. Sometimes she slips up her 'thinking before speaking' and, before she can catch herself, blurts out something rash: instead of just apologizing or forging ahead and disregarding her mistake, she'll instead panic and back herself into a metaphorical corner. This is where it's most a problem. When she over-thinks things, she considers both the good and bad outcomes - and it's the bad outcomes that make the deepest impressions. A simple thing like accidentally saying something that can be taken as an insult is a biggie for Ellie.

Some call it vanity, but that's not the right word for this aspect of Ellie's personality. She cares little about her looks, and accepts and acknowledges that there will always be someone better than her in everything and anything. No, the correct word for describing this part of Ellie is selfish. Though she'll deny it if you ask her flat-out, it's impossible to think that she isn't. Growing up in a part of the world where every morsel of food was precious has made a difference on her. To her, it's not being selfish, it's 'every man and woman for themselves.' In her mind, it makes perfect sense to take care of one's self before others.

{ ABOUT HIM ; Shakki's name is Shakki. Obviously. His personality is the polar opposite of Ellie's. Inclined to speaking without thinking, and also caring little about mistakes and prone to laughing off insults, he's often referred to as Ellie's 'eyes.' Ever sympathetic to her condition, he's often to be seen on her shoulder where he can quietly inform her where it's safe to move. That shows the bond between them - Ellie's willing to trust him to guide her through the darkness. His three main forms are a lemur (above), a fox, and a chickadee.

{ NAME ; Benjy Ascar.
Officially named Benjy Ascar - Ben-ji Ah-Scar - he prefers to be called Ben, or even Benny, though this particular nickname is less welcomed. He's not what you'd describe as enthusiastic about his given name - Benjy sounds like something out of a kids book, is his main protest. His feelings on his surname?... He plain hates his last name. It doesn't help that him and his father aren't on best terms, and he's constantly going on about how their surname is well-respected in their field, which doesn't sit well with him. Benjy, more commonly spelled as Benji, is derived from the name of Ben whose's origin is Hebrew. Several of the meanings of Benjy include "son; son of the right hand; son of the south; son of my old age".
{ AGE ; Twenty years and nine months old.
Coming from a line of merchants, Benjy has always been groomed to be one himself, and taught that numbers are very important. Because of this, whenever he meets someone new, he always says exactly how old he is, including the days. His birthday presides on the 17th of June.

{ PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION ; One of those 'pretty' boys.
The first thing you'll notice about Benjy's appearance is his hair. It has a dark blackish brown base, while the top strands are of a golden hue. He rarely deigns to brush it, instead preferring to just run his hands through his hair to give it some semblance of neatness if he messes with it at all. To further describe his facial features: his nose is of average length and slightly crooked due to a bad break when he was younger, and his lips are a bit too thin than is desirable. His cheekbones, while prominent, don't claim dominance in his narrow face, but simply further emphasize his eyes, which are a dark brown hue. Above, his eyebrows are thin and arching. He's taller than most other people he's met at six feet and three centimeters. His frame is not bulky or broad-shouldered - if anything, his figure lingers right on the border of girlish; his body is slim and compact with muscle. Benjy is definitely easy on the eyes, but not as eye-catching as others.

{ PERSONALITY ; Cool, calm, and collected.
Benjy has a complex personality, but at the same time, one of simplicity; one aspect of his personality leads to another, after all. He's almost insufferable in the sense that's he's so impossible to make mad - or so it seems. He shakes off insults with a slight, if condescending smile; the most common expression on his face is one that is mostly patronizing. Vain not in the way that's he's precocious with his appearance, but in the way where he considers himself better than most everyone. To this reason, he's a person who seems outwardly unsocial or social awkward - a trait that is highly undesirable for a merchant, or, at least, if you want to be a successful one. To tell the truth, he simply doesn't want to lower himself to talk about trivial things with others, though he can hold his own ground in a conversation if necessary. Another word to describe Benjy is ambitious. He's not one to join the losing side of anything even if he believes in their cause, which may explain why he joined the Gobblers. They never came closer to catching him and endangering his relationship with his daemon, but he sought them out and offered his services. In his mind, joining the Gobblers is a way to pave the path to glory.

Part of the reason his relationship with his father is so rocky is that Benjy isn't content with his life and his father is disgusted with him for this. True, they're not poor - but so what? When the aristocrats pass with their fine clothes and their pockets filled with money, he finds himself staring after them with hungry eyes. Benjy most likely has no future as a merchant. If he were in modern times, it is likely he'd be diagnosed with ADHD - he can never sit still or keep his attention focused on one thing. Sitting still for long periods of time and going over figures in his head? Benjy wants to be a successful merchant, but if it requires him to do that... Well, there's other things in life he can work at. Of his many weaknesses, his most prominent one is that he can't do anything in a fight besides using brute strength. Whenever he tries to sketch out strategies either mentally or on paper, he usually ends up bored and doodling. He seems to have two left feet in the sense that he has no agility, whatsoever. Benjy is literate thanks to his mother who wanted a better education for her children, but he has little to none knowledge of arithmetic.

{ ABOUT HER ; Meet Tila. She's very empathetic and kind, in contrast to her human counterpart. She's made a habit of thinking things through thoroughly before doing them, and is overall intelligent and talkative. Her preferred forms are that of a Bengal tiger and a small rat terrier. Due to Benjy being relatively old, she's starting to settle - and her choice is leaning towards that of the terrier.
