Yi was named by her Mother; a true believer in the goodness of the world. It is spelled with the character 义, meaning 'Justice'. Her last name, Shí, is spelled with the character 石, meaning stone. But sometimes, Yi wishes it was spelled with 诗; meaning Poetry. She feels that it would fit better- especially with the power she has been gifted with.

Yi has essentially lived for fifteen years; born on the twenty-seventh of August when it was at its coldest. There isn't much else to say about this; nothing interesting happened to her at fifteen. Oh well, except finding her powers out...

Yi first used her ability when she made her mother be quiet. It was another day in her home, another day when all her mother did was yell at her for getting an eighty-nine on her last test. It was making her head hurt and she was getting tired- so she ended up grabbing her mother and asking her to be quiet. Both were surprised when she really did end up going silent for five minutes. Confused, both returned to their rooms without another word- even the father was surprised by this. Yi had several other encounters with her powers after this- and it wasn't until she used it on herself accidentally did she realize it was a power.

Her power was the ability to commit another to her words. "Wordplay" as she dubs it. The basics of it is that she can take any verb from the English language and force another to follow it for a minute- five if she's really pushy about it. The verb she thinks of will appear on the tips of her finger first; a syllable on each tip; and can be tattooed onto the bare skin of another if her tips press on it long enough (about three seconds). Oddly enough, her thumb can't be used in this, so all of the words must be four syllable or less, can only be used for one word, and stops all other conflicting actions. She also cannot use words such as die on herself or others- nor does it work on the dead. All effects are temporary and usually has no affects for after.

Aesop is the name of a Greek Story teller that has no official identity but his name. He was Yi's favorite author, and because of that, Yi decided to name herself Aesop. Her power did involve words- so why not?

Yi is a rather private person in truth, but she's good at hiding it. She hides it with her social ability, her friendliness, and her willingness to help others when called upon. She will act like an outgoing person, she will act as if she's interested in you as you think she is, she will act like the person you've always wanted her to be. For the public, Yi's personality is not defined- it is a variable. It is changeable and morph-able to fit whatever needs you wish to have. Yi is an actress; a cowardly one. She's always putting on an act to meet the expectations of others, afraid to let you down with whatever it is she hides underneath it. Even Yi doesn't know what her true self is, having buried it with masks and covers to keep everyone happy. Yi will be whoever anyone else decides she to be. If they call her wimpy, Yi will be wimpy; if they call her brave, she will call upon false bravery; if they call her cowardly, well... She doesn't need to do much. Yi just knows that she doesn't want to stand out or disappoint anyone. She only knows that no matter what, she doesn't want to be the lead actress nor does she want to be different. She will do her best to be as normal as she can be- unless she's Aesop. Then as Aesop, she will be as flashy and boisterous as possible. Why? Well, even she isn't quite sure... maybe just to change; if only by a little.

This is the part where Yi Shí says she likes so and so. This is the part where Yi Shí says there is someone in her life that makes her feel special. Except. There isn't anyone like that. Not at the moment...

Yi Shí is a first generation American. This means that her mother and Father immigrated to the American Continent before she was born and became American citizens (eventually). Her parents came from the harsh country of China. They were running away from their family who disapproved of their love and tried to separate them forcibly. It sounds romantic; but really, it wasn't. They received harsh treatment from both sides, and in the end, neither became happy as both eventually fell out of love with one another. When Yi was born, it was immediately apparent that they only stayed together because they had to. Everyday was a challenge for them; they fought a lot, slept in separate rooms, and did a lot in order to avoid one another. In particular, her father just stayed at work half of the time- and her mother went out with friends a lot. Don't get it wrong, both parents loved her, but they hated one another so much, that it got in the way of how they raised their child.

If there was one thing that they did however, it was making sure she turned out successful. Unable to stand failure, Her parents pushed her on relentlessly. Anything less than an A in school gave her a lecture, anything useless for her future career was regarded with disdain, and anything that would distract her from leading a successful and wonderful life was instantly tossed and pushed out of her mind. The thing that her parents disliked the most was love. "Love is but a poison." They would both tell her. They warned her heavily against it- and until Yi decided enough was enough, believed in that as well.

At the moment, Yi doesn't know how to think of everyone. She has just recently figured her powers out; and she's very amazed by the people around her- but she isn't sure how to feel about them exactly. She hopes everyone is nice though...
