Ren Kurone, Crisis Solider
Ren's face lit up when Alle's did; he was only twelve, he still mirrored the expressions of those around him on reflex. Likewise, he rolled his eyes and grinned at her squirrel comment. "Hm. They always run from me, I wonder why." He answered cheerily, gesturing to the blood splashed over him from his latest little fight and the ones before it, that he had yet to bother to clean off. The scent of blood made most animals run from him, except for those searching for a meal. The latter group usually ended up as Ren's dinner. Everyone had to eat after all, and large animals like those that usually went after the blood-scented Ren usually had a good amount of meat on them. The unsuccessfuls, particularly ones like Skye who couldn't even move yet, rarely could get enough food for themselves anyways, so Ren had gotten into a habit of finding more then he needed for himself.
Following Alle's gaze over to Skye, who of course hadn't moved from his slumped position where Ren had left him, the young boy instinctively tensed. He was always tense when anything related to Skye came up in conversation, as would anyone when the sole person they knew who was within a hundred miles of them was utterly helpless and surrounded by super-strong people they didn't know. Hearing the question, more like a stammered string of many questions, Ren made himself just smile. Yes, Skye looked like a girl, there wasn't a person in the world who didn't think that after seeing him. Skye as the only one who took offense to it, and said teenager was far enough away and dazed enough that there was no chance he would hear it, let alone make sense of it.
"It's fine... He's a friend of mine, name is Skye. He's an unsuccessful, he can't even move yet. And yeah, he looks like a girl. Everyone but him knows it." Ren answered lightly, not really minding that she had asked. If anything, the most awkward part of it to him was that a girl who had to have been at least three years older then him was getting nervous just because of a question. Shuffling a bit on his feet, not sure what to say, he quietly asked; "Is there anyone you know here?" It was a touchy subject, Ren understood that. The Crisis gene was genetic after all, so several had siblings there as well. Ren was perhaps the only one who had someone there that he knew who wasn't a sibling.

Alle Cross, 15, Crisis-Soldier
Alle hesitated for a second, and then responded to his question negatively with a quick shake of her head. "Nope," she responded, in the same light tone they both were now using. "I have a sister - or, had, maybe - but I haven't seen her for years." She turned the conversation back to Ren, now calm and complacent, her earlier flush gone. She stared thoughtfully at him. He'd said he was friend's with the blonde Unsuccessful - that would usually be enough, but now she was curious. Where did they have the chance to meet... ? When? She smiled slightly as she realized what was probably the cause of all her curiosity.
Well - there was the thing that she was naturally a bit nosy, but it was most likely that she hadn't participated in a good conversation in days. If she didn't talk, add in to the conversation, who knows? Maybe he would leave. Rubbing her hands on her battered trousers, she queried, "When did you and this Skye meet?" She lifted her eyebrows slightly as she elaborated to her words by saying, "Of course, if there's anything you don't want to answer, don't. But... I mean, where did you two meet? Where you friends before..." She skipped that part of her sentence, thinking that he most likely had a clear idea of what she meant. "Or did you meet him when you got there?" Again, she didn't go into deep description there.

Ren Kurone, Crisis Solider
((Sorry for the slow reply! DX I'm studying for exams, fun stuff.))
Ren silenced himself from asking about the girl's sister. Having lived the life of a street child, his young mind had seen and been involved in more death and suffering then any twelve-year-old ever should in their entire lifetime. After all of that, Ren had learned not to ask about 'missing people', which to him was the same as dying of disease, jumped by thieves who had no qualms with murdering their victims, being arrested and killed in prison, etc. Perhaps the girl's sister really had just vanished, gotten in the wrong train or something, but Ren was not going to ask in case that was not it. He looked around awkwardly for a moment, like her not wanting to end the conversation. Many of those who had escaped with them were just wading in their misery and couldn't be persuaded to talk about anything but how awful life was and such gloomy topics that Ren really didn't want to talk about. Talking to Skye didn't really work since the boy couldn't respond nor give any sign that he heard, if he even did, which left very few people for Ren to try to speak to. Although the questions that came eventually were a bit personal, it was something to speak about.
"We met when I tried to rob him, actually, a few years ago. Long story, I was hungry. Not really sure how it ended up happening, but we started just traveling together. Odd, eh?" Ren smiled at the memory. As an eight year old, tired and hungry, he had the foolish mind to try to steal some of the food Skye had pilfered, who at that time was just thief to Ren. Skye had nearly bashed his head in before realizing the thief was a small and starving boy, and in the end given Ren a small portion of the meal. Ren, who had the mind of a stray animal, trailed Skye from that day forth. One thing led to another, and thus they became partners-in-crime of sorts. "I couldn't believe it when we both had positive results to become Crisis Soliders. Skye's the reason we're here, actually. Before they tested on him he slipped me a key to the cell door." Which had gotten Ren and those locked with him out, and then they freed a few more and a couple unsuccessfuls before leaving. Ren shrugged, trying to think of something else to day.

Alle Cross, 15, Crisis-Soldier
Alle saw his hesitation and felt relieved: it looked like she wasn't going to be questioned over her sister's mysterious disappearance after all. Not that she could have actually answered well, anyway. She remembered that day clearly, when she, the older child, had went out to see if she could find something edible. And when she got back - her sister had vanished. She never saw her again. She pulled her attention back to Ren. Sometimes she found it so easy to get distracted in the past. She caught the last of his words, and chuckled lightly. "Tired to rob him?" she repeated, amused. "I can say I've never tried that, with a straight face. Robbing someone, I mean."
She shook her head slightly as she continued. "I was lucky and managed to find a job. It was a little thing, and paid a tiny amount, but it was enough to sustain me." Her smile thinned. "You know, until they took me to be a Crisis-Soldier." She sighed and then looked at the boy with another question on her lips. Or, questions. "Do you remember your parents?" she questioned curiously. "When did you first start to live on the streets?" She busied herself with rubbing her arms, which felt cold for some reason. And she was hungry again. She started to glance around for something to eat, but then stopped herself and tried to focus once again on Ren.

((This is what happens when you have an account partner. They click the topic, you don't see that there's a new post. *sigh* Sorry!))
Ren wasn't one to ask about others past having a very questionable one himself, many aspects of which he would not talk about if they were brought up. So Alle was safe from having to attempt talking about her sister's disappearance with him anyways. Shaking away those thoughts, he would not ask, Ren chuckled with Alle. He was a child; he laughed when others did on principle. "Tried' being the key word. Didn't exactly succeed." Ren added; Skye had caught him within five seconds of his small hand touching the food the older thief had gathered.
"I couldn't get a job-" Ren gestured to his small and weak looking self, though now he could take out a small army with his bare hands. "-Can barely even read anyways, so I stole. Not that hard, kinda fun actually." Ren had absolutely no education, save for Skye kind of teaching him to read, except for the small issue that the older boy barely could read himself. Hearing the question of his parents, Ren bit slightly on his lip; that was a issue he was less then fond of. "Barely. They left me to die about seven years ago. Starting living on the streets then." His tone was faintly bitter, but it had been nearly six years(Ren wasn't very good at keeping track, hence him thinking it had been longer then it had) and it was time to let go and he knew that. Finding a change of subject when Alle looked around, he guessed it was for food as it was a look he frequently saw, Ren smiled. "Some of the others brought some food back earlier, it's over-" Ren paused as he tried to think of some sort of landmark, and in the end just pointed towards the more dense patch grass and a few trees that made their camp. "-there. I'm hungry too." His twelve-year-old mind didn't pause, already starting to walk over there, merely looking for a second over his shoulder to see if the girl would be coming.
