...............A word to describe Ember Chance? How about 'angry'? Yeah, angry was a good word to describe Ember Chance right then. "STAY DEAD YOU STUPID THING!" The childish seventeen year old swung her sword towards the next zombie, beheading it. She pulled a face as she looked at what was left of the ex-human-dead-thing.

She stepped away and ran her finger along the scar that covered half her face, a lovely memento of the zombie apocalypse... That didn't seem to be going away. She then frowned and continued her ambling walk, looking around for food that could be edible.

I remember when I was younger, my father and I would play a little something I knew as the Strategy Game. In that game, I recall one time my father asked me what I would do if there ever was a Zombie Apocalypse. I replied with 'I'd kick some zombie butt,' followed by a fit of giggles. Now, at the time, a zombie apocalypse was a crazy myth made up by a bunch of si-fy freaks with no life. Or rather, as I would consider them now, the freaks I wish I would have listened to.

If I had listened, I may not be in such circumstances. Cold, alone, scared, etc. In the beginning of everything, my parents decided it was safest to ship me off with some people I've never heard of in- heavens, who knows where! Separating from my family was hard, and the first few weeks were even harder, but by now that all seemed like a faded memory. I've learned to fend for myself and depend on no one, because you never knew when someone would just use you as bait. I've seen it happen.

Before I was shipped off, I was able to steal a simple pocket knife from my father's work shop. It wasn't much, but It worked well to keep me alive. I've witnessed many attacks in the past few... months.. weeks -how long has this been going on-? Oh who knows, but I've witnessed a lot. Thanks be to whatever deity out there keeping me alive. I have yet to actually face a zombie attack. I've always made a quick escape, but the numbers keep getting larger and larger, and I have no doubt that something was going to happen soon.

Autumn
Autumn swung the knife into the nearest zombie's leg, pulling it down. It sliced through the rotten flesh quite easily. The zombie kept moving towards her, cornering her in the small house. The cut on it's leg didn't slow it at all.
"Dammit, die already!" she growled. In idea sparked in her mind and she ran to the small toilet in the house. She had been staying here for a bit before the zombies found her and broke into her little sanctuary. She lifted the lid of the toilet and slammed it onto the zombies head. It dropped to the ground, unconcious but not dead.
"Ha!" Autumn said triumphantly. She looked around at the trashed home and sighed. Everything was destroyed and there was no longer any of her food stashed into the cupboards.
"I guess I should go find more food then," she huffed and left the house, wiping the knife on the grass to clean it. She strolled down the street, searching for a decent shelter and some food.

She climbed on a building hoping to find the next wave of zombies. Two waves had came and fell like playing cards in the last two days. 'We'll make it..........' the horrible thought popped up, 'maybe.' "We will make it I know it, I'm a tactain and I can wield daggers, and fight zombie with a lead pipe pretty good for an eleven-year old'. Usually she stuck next to Clear, she was her only friend in the group right now- the only one in her group, "Oh no!" She was fighting them again- by herself. "Clear! You know not to do that!" She yelled, mulitple echo's coming back towards her.


A low grumble caught her off guard, 'an animal really shouldn't have lived in all this rubble...' She came to the edge of the building seeing zombies. And a human 'clear!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to kill you if the zombies don't take you first!' She started to jump but looked at the eleven foot drop. 'Okay let's see what can I use to get down?' She looked around finding a frayed side of a powerline, she threw her pipe to it. She looked at the other end a couple feet away, it wasn't attached, she tugged it free a minute later. As she wrapped around the first end with a piece of metal sticking up and tugged to make sure it was sturdy, it was and threw the other side down. She hurridly climbed down, with daggers in hand. "Thank me later." She said to Clear, and started stabbing some zombie heads.

I shot another arrow into a zobie's head, which meant there were only four. But a few showed up. Should I run? Duh! I quickly pulled out the arrow again, wiping the blood off on my tight shirt, which was already well stained with blood. Both mine and zombie. I ran past the small group of disgustsing beings, which now contained seven. "Allison, I swear to God, stay there any longer and I'll kill you before you kill me!" I snapped, still running.

I looked down at my feet. "Today was not a good day to wear wedges!" I said to myself, running a bit awkwardly. Something tugged on my hair, and I quickly relized what it was. I screamed at the top of my lungs. Am I dead yet?

"Climb up! My daggers can cut the rope!" I replied huffing and puffing, following Clear. "If we don't get outta here they'll kill us before we kill each other!" I called grabbing my pipe and started swinging it behind me, hopefully making them slow down and I felt something touch my back. A zombie. She slammed her pipe, throwing it off balance. She turned to find a zombie holding Clear's hair. She pulled out her dagger and swung at the hand. A groan of pain shot out, the hand falling to the ground, holding some of Clear's hair. 'I'm going to die if Clear finds out...' she thought "Go up!" SHe yelled at Clear.

I felt my hair, noticing some was missing. I glared at Allison, but did as she said. Quickly, even in my wedges, I scaled the side of the building, holding the rope tight. With my bow and quiver of arrows slung over my shoulder, I reached the top. "Allison! I see a girl!" I called to her, waiting for her to climb up as well.

Yes, there was a girl. About 15. Maybe older. It was hard for me to tell from up here. I tried to get the girl's attention by waving my arms. She could help us. I thought.((Yes, it's Autumn Clear's looking at.))
